Unobtanium is an SHA256 coin AND is merge mined with Bitcoin, so a) GPUs are hopelessly out-classed, and b) the difficulty is off the scale.

Finally the block reward is only 0.00195312, so you'd need the equivalent of 512 and a bit blocks to get one UNO.

OK, I worked it out very roughly, using the Coinwarz figures, assuming the R9 290 produces 1 GH/s mining SHA (generously estimated from the Scrypt rate) and uses 600 watts, it would lose $1.44 a day and take somewhat over 526 million days or 1.4 million years to mine the equivalent of 1 Bitcoin, whilst actually mining UNO. If the UNO exchange rate remains constant at c. 0.005 (i.e. 1/200 of a Bitcoin) then you will get 1 UNO in about 7,000 years, and it will have cost $3.7 million dollars in electricity.

I stand by my first answer ...

(To be fair I did this all rather casually using the calculator on my phone and not writing anything down, so there may well be some glaring errors there.)

That was directly mining UNO, it's just that Coinwarz provides its figures as if you wanted BTC, whatever it is you choose to mine, so I had to reverse back to get to the time taken to mine one UNO.

However, the fact is with merge mining in place, just mining UNO is largely pointless, as you can mine BTC and *also* mine UNO for free.

Prohashing is a profitable scrypt multipool that will pay your earnings in UNO.

I think you will do very well there.

I've earned about .5 UNO at Prohashing.com this month with an old 1 MHS (not GHS) GAW scrypt asic. I just leave it on and forget about it.  It would earn more if I paid attention to it, and made sure it was still running after the kids play video games.

Just throwing this out there because I'm just trying to understand how our new best friend(s) are planning to turn a big profit on their new aquisition. We're talking like what, 100BTC+ invested and >20 tons of UNO now (need to add Cryptopia buys in a well which were also significant, including some of the alt pairs)? No way to sell that off in profit down here if you ask me.

So what next? The last bunch of "investors" ended up dumping tons of UNO at loss. Whoever is buying now is surely better prepared. I hope?!

Lets play through 3 quick scenarios:
1. Worst case
Accumulation was largely done in 001-002 zone in stealth mode. The recent markup was mostly buying up their own coins. Anything above 003 is profit, prepare for months of selloff with occasional spikes to keep price up. Boring and barely profitable as UNO market volume quickly dries up to almost nothing without price action. Would u invest 100BTC to do that? You could probably just put those BTC on lending at Polo and be just as profitable...

2. Most probable case
This was the "grabbing a hold of the market" move of a typical pump. So we're in wave 1 or a testpump, retracement and first little shakeout for late buyers maybe. Expect most probably two more waves and a few sharp turns and unpredictable moves along the way. Targets are the usual past resistance levels and possibly that last Bittrex ATH at .03 - you know the drill.

3. Best case
UNO is an old coin and has lots of market memory, people know price levels and trade it by instinct. Hard to suprise anyone and old wallets will start to move and sell on you above .015. UNO has been trading the .002 to .03 range for years now. It is a routine - buy below .005, sell above .015. Kinda like DASH did in the .006 to .025 zone for 2+ years (although their chart was admittedly more bullish). Move UNO up and out of that zone, let it discover a new price and it could go 10x past its previous ATH! Supply is small and resistance is thin up there. Need super deep pockets for that but potential profit for the "investors" would be tremendous in this case.

I don't mind what people try to do in the markets, they're all playing by the same rules. I applaud anyone who decides to buy 14,000 UNO, how they get rid of it is between them and the markets. Deception is practically a property of any markets to some degree; nobody will announce ahead of time the intention to buy 7% of any crypto or stock, unless it's a company doing a buyback or something.

Don't get me wrong. I applauded all of you that can profit from professional actors. I'm happy they are here so I can beat them. We all can. They need stupid believers and some good news. They Like naive losers.They are very confident and experienced players BUT you can beat them in very simple way: patience for the right time! That's it.

For the last 3 years it's been about every 13 months, but this time we've been propelled to a "new level" in USD terms. I wouldn't be terribly surprised if we averaged $1-$3 UNO for the first 3 years, $3-5 for the next, etc. Lots of drifting downward and spikes upward along the way, but gradually a long-term picture materializes.

Regarding Vega, I have my 6th RACK dedicated to VEGA 10.  If there's anything I learned in Mining, it is to decide EARLY and just do it.   20 Rigs now is always worth more than 40 Rigs later.  We always end up buying the same cards, ie, RX480 been available since July at tiny discount vs fully ROI.   They have beta testing results using untuned drivers and are already showing over 10% faster than 1080s.

Attention UNO community members,

I recently posted that my coins were stuck because my wallet didn't sync. The problem was a tough one and called for drastic action. It required a lot of faith on my part, but I placed my trust in Falling Knife and my problems are now over.

Dr_voidberg keep those 5kg Careful. The minig reward is in micrograms. In some point ☝️ people will jump on alt coins because they don't like to have too much zeros in front of their bitcoin in their  wallet. This 5 kg will be in great service to you in future. It's your retirement fond. Made some well calculated high sell's and low buy's and you can double and triple it...... gain your weight! You going to love it. Uno is a long run crypto. You simply must have it in your portfolio.
