I remember my first UNO purchase about year ago, on coinex RIP , more than 2k for 2.5BTC, it was my biggest investment. Friends told me than that I am crazy investing in some new "made just to cover asics expenses" coin, but after a year community prove opposite. Strong development and good team. Still have strong faith in it and wish all the best for community. Keep it that way! (as I keep my UNO's) Cheers! I've lost about 1000 UNO on coinex, stupidest move ever. I tried not to think about it anymore, but 1000 UNO!

The dips in btc haven't impacted the coin TOO badly. It also seems the concentrated efforts of the community are working very nicely in terms of helping others realize the value potential this coin truly has! Your buddies are going to be VERY sorry they didn't wanna take a chance with a coin made 'just to cover expenses' I've lost about 1000 UNO on coinex, stupidest move ever. I tried not to think about it anymore, but 1000 UNO! That does suck! My condolences

At first, everyone could think that you are insane and wrong to buy cheap coins, but after a long-term they would see they, actually, they were wrong to loose the opportunity to invest in the right time

Little help guys... My Unobtanium wallet not want to be synchronized. I have 7 active connections. Thank you!
Hi! Are you new to UNO or have you held for awhile? If new, how did you hear about the coin? BTW Welcome! Since I mined on coinex. I took a interest in this coin! I been following in it regularly, in it for the long haul. My problems remain I have active connections, but just does not sync, it says it does but it doesn't. Where should I add the nodes? Here? libpng15-config Does not allow me to do it. Thanks again!

I been following in it regularly, in it for the long haul. My problems remain I have active connections, but just does not sync, it says it does but it doesn't. Where should I add the nodes? Here? libpng15-config Does not allow me to do it. Thanks again! First be absolutely sure you have the 0.9.5 wallet. If not, get it from the OP here or from unobtanium.uno Check the "block height" of your wallet (click on Console, then find "Current number of blocks). It should be very close to the block height shown at https://chainz.cryptoid.info/uno/ If block height is way higher than what's shown on the block explorer, then you're on the bad fork, and you'll need to back up your Uno wallet, and then delete the block chain and download it again. Just out of curiosity, see who are you connected to. From Console, type getpeerinfo This will give you a list of peers. It will also show which version of the wallet they are running (subver). If you see a lot of connections running wallets below 0.9.5, then that's the problem. Here's how to create an unobtanium.conf file: If you're using Windows, go to C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Unobtanium Create a text file called unobtanium.conf and paste the addnodes in there and save. Restart your UNO client. Here's how to delete your block chain and download it again, should you discover that you are on the wrong fork: Close your Uno wallet If you're using Windows, go to C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Unobtanium Backup your wallet.dat. Just right click on it, copy it and paste it to a Usb drive as a precaution against loss. Delete only these 3 folders: Blocks, Chainstate, Database Restart your Uno wallet and it will begin to download the block chain again.

Just an FYI in case you hadn't heard. BW & Blocktech launched GamerHolicCoin yesterday, a sha256d coin. In its first six hours it hit a Petahash! Just I'd mention it here; you can join the conversion if you want at https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=796370.0

+1 Cryptsy allows you to *deposit* USD to buy BTC (albeit at quite a premium over buying at Coinbase and transferring the BTC over). What's the problem with them just allowing clients to buy any old altcoin directly with said USD instead of having to go indirectly through BTC? You say "bitcoin is in danger of tanking very badly". If it does any further, the good news is that at least some of these exchanges will feel *forced* to allow direct altcoin buying with fiat.

I just sent Cryptsy a support ticket and asked for a Uno>USD market. Why don't you all do the same while we continue to discuss it here. To me it makes sense to start with Cryptsy, since most of us already trade there and they have supported Uno for a year. Let's ask them to help us with a USD market, and refer them back the discussion here to show them that there would be support for it. Other options... C-cex at one time was going to add us and probably still would if we pushed. We're still ranked high in voting at C-cex. Also Bleutrade has a USD market and we already high in voting there, too. Neither allow deposits/withdrawal of USD as far as I know, just allowing trading. I will also clarify with BW about USD plans for Altmarket. Maybe this is a problem that will soon resolve itself.

I'll be glad to contact Cryptsy regarding this matter. However, for my 2c, I would suggest putting our efforts behind BW's exchange. As one of our developers, we should be glad to reciprocate in support of his other project...it seems an obvious symbiotic relationship.

@exchanges was tweeting bter (for asia), cryptsy, hitbtc, kraken and justcoin earlier. I think one of them will add uno sooner or later. 'Who wants to be the first fiat exchange for uno?' A good buisinessman can't decline that. If everyone is on the lookout for it we'll get it going, think. I think Justcoin is most likely to give a positive response since they are a small but pretty nice exchange and they will want more volume. Maybe cryptsy too. Whoever comes first Feel free to tweet to justcoin and cryptsy again if things don't pick up fast enough.

@Philogus sounds like an interesting idea. A thing like maidsafe or freenet is that, right? Interested to see what comes from that idea. I am a noob when it comes to the details, though.

bitcoin keeps declining. 1.5 million coins to stomack till next halving ...
Yeah exactly. I'd definitely use it if somebody built it. I use Dropbox now, but it would be great to earn some UNO for letting the rest of the world use some of my hard drive space. I have an old Dell that would be perfect.

@ Philogus, I am ignorant of the technology here; but I have been arguing from day one for projects that tap into groups outside the (fatigued and grumpy) crypto-sphere.
@ V500: if you're still full of energy, PM to ask me about 'P-WIPping' -- fiat-crypto sales by Internet-banking (in a nation). IndiaMikeZulu has done it.
I completely agree. UNO is a fantastic coin. I wish that we could figure out away to make something completely dependent on it. Hopefully Argentina will announce that UNO is now its official currency soon...lol. Seriously, I wish that someone would do something really cool with UNO. For example, what if James Cameron decided to make it so that you could ONLY buy tickets to see Avatar 2 using UNO? What does he have to lose, and what does he have left to prove? He's practically a billionaire. If nothing else, he should do it as experiment just to see what happens. I think that it would be a phenomenal success, and people would follow his lead into adopting crypto-currency. Ebay is taking baby steps towards Bitcoin, but somebody big needs to just dive in and bet the company on Bitcoin, maybe a company that is in a little bit of trouble....like Microsoft. If Windows Phone is having such a hard time selling, why not make it the first smartphone to really embrace Bitcoin? Sell each Windows Phone with a Bitcoin wallet preloaded with $100 worth of BTC. If Microsoft did this, it would give a big lift to crypto-currency as a whole, and I bet that sales of Windows Phones would eventually increase...a lot.

Pnoch ( uaCTEckBTnocqfdu2HC7rSW8xYDquMuZL7 ), that was fantastic work!! Thank you. Philogus, you're more than welcome! 100 UNO Received. I will try to think and put something together for that UNOFileSync idea. Great idea by the way! Thank you for making me love this coin and community even more. I have no doubt, Unobtanium is and will be the best cryptocurrency with the best community ever! No problem Pnoch! I feel the same way that you do about UNO. This is really a fantastic community. I find myself sneaking and taking a peek at our forum thread while I'm supposed to be working at work. Our community is going to eventually make UNO rise to the top of the heap.

I was shocked by how many USD to crypto pairs they have now. I used to buy PPC, so I was pleasantly surprised to see that they now have a USD to PPC market. I have been avoiding getting verified on Cryptsy, but if they add USD to UNO, I'm done. Not only will I get verified, I might never use my Coinbase account again. As much as I love BTC, I think that UNO is a much better long term investment.
