i don't see a merchant selling as a problem.
Coins are sold and bought  all day long.
Someone bought them, sold them to you for goods and now you offer them back at the market. It's normal trading in a sense.

You (Coaex) just had some larger purchases, that's why that sellpressure is felt a little.

In the future with higher marketcap merchants selling coins will have less impact on the market. A merchant can only sell a coin someone else bought on the market before.

looking at other cryptomarkets:

this looks pretty bad. Litecoin really low too.

Hope this is the final valley for coins. Could turn out to be the lowest point of  the year. (hope so,and also looks that way when you zoom in and out a bit)

When things go up again one day people who accumulate  around this time will be pretty happy probably

"In the future with higher marketcap merchants selling coins will have less impact on the market."

Although it's early early days (and we all have a lot to learn . . . ), my idea of a 'liquidity engine' serves exactly to solve this problem by providing in different nations 'wells' of funds from which merchants can draw (and in the process returning Uno to strong hands).

Cragv and IndiaMikeZulu are going to try a micro-experiment in this within a month -- discussed it on the phone yesterday

I can not agree my brother!   Uno is rare! A buy pressure should be at least a bit greater than selling pressure!
And that's  what i do. Applying sell pressure and holding more. I thing merchants at this moment and level are more damage than help to the price of uno. Maybe at a later stage merchants going to believe in Unobtanium and help not for Uno,but to themselves as holding it and respect it! Uno going to help the merchants not the opposite.Uno is a store of wealth man!
No matter what the merchants say now, they're only purpose is existing for dollars ,euros,Turkish lira or any fiat bullshit......You can't selling Unobtanium like you selling potatoes! When someone put sell over 100 or more Kilograms  - he practically close the sky! Why you do that?- Wall Street is not here to buy your big kilograms or tons!
I don't think the dumpers are just impatient or stupid to dumpet and killed the price- they just don't have time and need to exit right away. These short traveling passengers on Unobtanium wonderland -those guys and merchants do the biggest damage now! Coaex and the others don't sell potatoes!

We are here to stay!
That's why I love your idea IMZ.

" . . . merchants at this moment and level are more damage than help to the price of uno."

Think back, readers, to when we started with cryptos. The question we were always asked was, 'What can you buy with this "money"?'

The answer was: 'Ummm . . . not much. Yet.'

Well, 'Yet' is right now. We need merchants (I am convinced -- lots of merchants). So, we need to find ways of dealing with the 'damage' that comes from making them part of our system.

I never want to buy grocery with Uno. I never even want to buy gold with Unobtanium! There are fiat for that purpose! And is nothing to do with use for buying- Unobtanium IS A STORE OF WEALTH!

@ Bitcoin National:

There are amazing similarities between this 'e-citizenship' and the 'Mall' that IndiaMikeZulu is developing. (And there are some e-society problems to solve. Trust and communication skills are very very important.)

So, let's create a U-nation!!

[Bit of Theory: most people would be reluctant to say this out aloud: just holding Uno doesn't get you U-citizenship. Citizenship is earned by those who contribute. Wolong owns Unobtanium, but I don't want him in my U-nation.]

UNO is not the altcoin you use to buy groceries.  But you can if you like it is 3x faster than BTC.
UNO is Rare.  Like gemstones, or precious metals, or fine art, or a premier vintage of wine.
UNO is a place to store of wealth.  Like gemstones, or precious metals, or fine art.
Classic and timeless.

2013 ... Klondike Miners BOOM (BUSTED by Feb 2014) -- Un Production Cycles 1&2&3
2014 ... Building up UNO's baseline value ($2-$3) and Building up UNO's baseline wealth (Un is Us the guys&maybegirls reading this)
2015 ... Building up UNO's store of value / protection of value / rise fo value REPEAT social-economical mechanics
2016 ... U-Nation (eCitizen) uno leads the way Smiley
2017 ... Letting every person on the planet know that UN will produce less than 4 coins a day 'inflation uninflation education'
2018 ... Move to eCitizen City-States (or having already created one U-Nation in your neighborhood stay home) Smiley
2019 ... Cinco de Mayo Day ... Uno enters last 12 coins production cycle ... so let's have a BIG party
2019 ... Turkey Day ... Turkey for everyone! ... 0.0001 to One Millionsudden good idea so founders reserve 100 un

@M
Yes the Mall thing is the big prize.  Uno is perfect role model but many coin communities will have to come together and tie a neat bow around it.  I think we will see regional coins 2.0 in the near future.  So think local.  But Uno will be the 'one' that thought 'Global' and is part of the yarn that knits all these crypto pieces into one tapestry.

But FIRST social-economical mechanics of creating value rinse and repeat.

That's the focus of 2015 and we are leaving behind a year of absorbing 200k coins into the 'Un economy' ... next year it looks like only about 2000 new coins ... math says about 100x less downward gravity ... yippee ... I too think Un will delight and astound.

After that we will have a much larger crowd to consider U-nation in 2016 and beyond.

We should have our first Conference within two years. Ian would love to go to Singapore (which is just six hours flight from Perth).

We could have one in America, one in Singapore, and one in Europe. Even if just three or four of us get to each meeting, it will be a triumph.

Just imagine three groups on three continents all posting at the same time on this thread!

@prominer

what  we found out: selling coins to a merchant is the same as selling coins on the market.
Later uno will be worth more and if people don't go out and all at once sell large number of coins to the same merchant it will not even be felt.
Right now people had shopping spree at coaex. They probably  thought better sell to  merchant than sell on  market and that's right because this way more people get involved and uno in more hands. We'll get over the sellorders of coaex. How much they need to sell? Few hundred at 0.0062? Will be bought later...

I think all the selling was many factors:
-maybe a bigger bagholder selling
-maybe  coinbroker panicselling what they have been sold with arbitrage without even knowing apparently (they must have held too many)
-people selling large amounts to metal merchant which of course goes back to the market
-plus more people selling because of all the selling (feedbackloop)

But because it's uno the amount that can be sold  is very limited. Many coins changed hands. Once we are over the current selling it's going up again, no doubt.
Need to be a little patient i think.
I play this way:
put a bit of buysupport and wait. If it gets dumped in i slowly ad buysupport again (maybe little lower). If i get coins cheaper is even better for me. One day in the near future sellers will have either no more to sell or we  are at a cheap price they refuse to sell - the equilibriium in the market. I am waiting  for the equilibrium. Once we see that we can go up again. I  think we must be close to that point now.

If you look closer: we got dumped 300 and 400 chunks in the 6s and 7s earlier. Last two weeks and this week it is chunks of 100 to 200. So selling comes down a little. I am waiting for these dumpings of 100 and 200 coins to stop. When they stop we can be at the 8s in a blink of an eye. I don't worry so much about it. We're right now just back at accumulation prices and maybe this  time the coins are with stronger hands. I think next uptrend will be to new high - our last high was 0.01 - i think we'll go higher next time around. What goes up must come down and goes back up after that Wink
Playing swings correctly gives you more uno. All markets go up and down. I think it's good we didn't rally higher few months ago (we clearly could have done that).
Possibly it's good to not go all out with buying  but play it up,down, up, down, up, down, up, up, down, up, down, up, down, up, up, up  Wink
When people see uno goes up, down and up again reliably more people will come to play the swings.
The longer  it goes up and down and stays stong regardless the more trust there will be and more people could potentially desire to hold coins longterm and the more stable it will be longterm. I think this round of selling makes the market stronger later. Testing support is good. We came from 0.003 moved  to 0.01 and if we find the floor at 0.005 next time top can be higher than 0.01 and floor after that will be higher again. (higher high and higher lows on the longterm-scale)
In all that coaex isn't  an issue Wink Just my 2 cents. Would have been nice to get to 10$ a coin already this  year but ok, we had some sellers so it'll be not 10$+ this year but probably next year.

I look at it relaxed and merchants is ok for me. This should be an exception with a single merchant selling this many coins. I don't see it as a big issue in the future.

Best is probably to get MORE different merchants selling their coins in smaller amounts at different prices. Wink

So i am for more merchants with less coins each   Smiley
Think about that

problems are created with everybody shopping at the same merchant because the merchant will have sellwalls for the market in that way.
So shopping more diverse with more different merchants is recommneded from my viewpoint.

Ideally 99,5% of supply is used as store of wealth and only smallest parts should circulate as currency. I  agree with that, prominer.  Wink
We'll be getting there.

which is bullshit - tradevolume 3 btc last 24h

15 btc last 14 days

this flagging of the market makes the impression to me bittrex suffers and cries it wants more volume or else ...

I do not take that serious with the volumes quoted above. We had last 14 days an average of around 1btc volume a day

@Bitcoinnational, thanks for that chart! I look forward to seeing how close your estimated dates are!

@IMZ, a Un conference! Love the idea!

@goemon888 thanks for sounding the alarm on Bittrex

Regarding @Bittrex, I pickedup new btc this month at 318. I was the guy who caught that 1200 Un dump a week ago or so.  Although I didn't expect most of my btc wad to go in a single trade, I was glad it happened on Bittrex. I noticed the Bittrex market was under performing and wanted to try and help get it kick started. That trade rolled off the books now (their "warning bot" only looks at the past week), and honestly the market there is not nearly what it could be.  As a community, we should trade at least .25 btc on Bittrex each day, minimum. That should be easy.  We need to keep Bittrex. It was a hard earned market, it's good for Uno's status and so I'm going to just flat out ask you -- please trade some Uno there. If you see that market having a bad day and you're able to help out, please step up.

Regarding @coaex,  let me come clean. I accumulate metals (have for many years), and this order with Coaex for gold was mine. I didn't expect it to cause a rukus. It was a very small percent of my Uno that I spent with Coaex; but I want to support Uno merchants (I have here Uno-branded silver, a titanium engraved Uno wallet, Uno t-shirt, Uno cryptochips & hopefully soon Uno Bitstickers -- love all things Uno). And anyway, I already replaced my Uno on Cryptsy last Friday when I bought the market back up to 0063. Sadly, nobody stepped in to help fill the gap and I don't have a tremendous amount of firepower left at this moment. I didn't consider Coaex's pov, and didn't anticpate the Un short-term price dropping like it did. If he wants to cancel the order, or charge me a premium, I'm cool with that. It's it a drop in the bucket, anyway. Coaex, I appreciate everything you do for Uno, and I want this community to support you and also want the trades to be fair and profitable for you.

As a long term community with many long term & trusted members, I think we can understand that the overall health of the UnoVerse (ecosystem) is directly tied to our own interests in Uno. Miners, merchants, investors & traders all need their day.

Uno is cheap, so it's a good moment for investors to accumulate. Thank you hodlers (like Jelks & Edgar & others) who are there to pick Uno up during the bad times; thanks for your long term commitment.
Uno's price spread is wide, so it's a good moment for traders to step in and work (to close) the gap. Thanks traders, for providing liquidity. We need more trading right now.
Uno's miners are doing their part, still providing nearly 30 ths of hash which tells me they expect the price to rise soon. Thanks miners for believing in Uno's future and securing our network.
Uno's merchants are watching to make sure this is a coin that supports them both with sales & a stable market. Thanks, merchants for seeking to work with our community.
Uno's exchanges are asking for help -- it costs them money to provide a market, and they need people to trade about .25 btc per day to help them break even. We can do that

The altworld is watching to see if a community like ours can keep it together, ride out the tough times and lay a course for the future. I know we will.
A thousand other altcoins have failed to get as far as Uno.

Everyone has a role to play here.  What's yours?

@bittrex I added some buy support and bought some UNO outright. I, like others, get tired of hearing the "we're going to pull you" alarm from them-it just gets old after awhile. I wish that they would update their delisting bot to look at a longer period of time. $UNO trades differently than the myriad of other coins out there. They should realise that!

As far as roles, I'm glad to be a trusted trader / escrower. I'm not much of a trader of $UNO, just a buyer, so I will be here for the long haul if we go up to 10xBTC or down to 2 sats...

I'd also be up for an international meetup. Can most easily do North, Central or South America...
