Speaking of Eddie Howe, I think there's a time when Man United is ready to take Eddie Howe in, for him bring the club to its former greatness.  What a time would it be..  And under an English manager too. 

Howe at Manchester United? He does not seem to be the type of manager Manchester United would be looking for if Amorim is sacked. They should employ managers that have won the league and some other trophies. Howe does not fit the Manchester United criteria on the basis of winning the Carabao Cup this year.

Nope, not if Amorim is sacked and not in 2 years or 3 years...  Maybe in 5 years or longer down the line if Man United is still struggling and Eddie Howe has proven himself that he's ready to be a big club manager.

Anyway, wtf is going on at the Etihad?  Thomas Frank getting the better of it. 

Anyway another underdog that could get at least a point is Fulham.  They're playing Man United at home.  Draw no bet is at 2.35 and the double chance is at 1.70.  Both tempting imho.

I'm more expecting Man United (aren't we all?), they really need to win a game to change their course. Will it be this round?

Cunha is one of those players that gets the ball and wants to run at the opposition. He is an exciting player that Manchester United needed in their squad, I think he will thrive having Fernandes alongside him. They also have a new set of strikers therefore in many ways it is a fresh start and they have to perform and put the past behind them. They will travel to Fulham tomorrow, I think they should win the game.

Frank and his Tottenham team just gave Guardiola and his Manchester City team a footballing lesson. Tottenham dominated the game, they deserved the 0-2 victory because Manchester City were not good enough and it seems clear their period of dominance is over.

Part of the problem is that Manchester City are no longer the attacking force and defensive wall that they used to be. When Rodri was injured last season it exposed how vulnerable Manchester City really were.

They had plenty of players coming and going but many were not ideal replacements. Grealish at £100 million was a failure, Mahrez in 2023 and Sane in 2020 were never replaced with similar players. They knew De Bruyne was heading for an exit yet did not bring in someone to fill his role.

Buying Haaland clearly worked for them but overall their recruitment has just been good when it should have been excellent if they want to win the Premier League and Champions League again.

A couple of bets that looks good to me this coming weekend.  Yeah, kinda early as the last couple of picks I had were good to me. 

I'm looking at BTTS at 2.11 at the Liverpool vs Arsenal match and a draw no bet at 2.03 at the Wolves vs Everton match.  The genius Moyes should get at least a point here.  I would've wanted a double chance but the line has no value.  The draw no bet at least is slightly plus money.

This is the last game of the second week of games. The game kicked-off at 8pm and is currently goalless. If Liverpool win this evening they will join both North London clubs (Arsenal and Tottenham) at the top of the Premier League table as the only three teams with a 100% win record from their first two games.

As for the draw no bet for Everton at 2.03, I saw it when I was looking at the EPL lines during the same say.  I check all the lines at Stake first as they have the best lines in crypto.  Anything better than their lines is value.

Chelsea have a home game against a Fulham side that is playing well, they should get three points but it will be a tough game.

If Manchester United cannot get a win against newly promoted Burnley, there will be an immense pressure on Amorim. If Burnley win the game, there will be questions about how long could remain as manager.

If Everton win away at Wolves, it will make a massive statement by Moyes. I feel Everton could be challenging for a top five or six position this season.

I think the BTS odd you saw was a system glitch or something I don't know- we're talking about two top side and BTS possibilty is 98% unless maybe you meant BTS & Over 2.5 goals?

Odds usually fall based on injuries and all that but I've never seen it fall from 2.11 to 1.67 so fast and I barely see x2 on BTT in PL games.

^  Oh...  Sorry.  It was a typo on my part.  I meant to say BTTS and over 2.5 combo.  Betting on just the BTTS kinda doesn't make sense as it doesn't give you the full value unless you think it's 1 - 1.  Which still doesn't make sense because you could also bet the BTTS and the under 2.5 goals combo.

But yeah, for the sake of my posts in these threads if I say BTTS what I mean is BTTS and over 2.5 goals combo.

Anyway, Chelsea vs Fulham could get interesting as the home squad is only up by just a goal at HT.  Let's see if Marco Silva could salvage a goal here.

It is half-time in two games. Nottingham Forest and West Ham United are goalless but Manchester City lead 0-1 at Brighton. The other two games between Liverpool and Arsenal kick-off at 4.30pm. Aston Villa and Crystal Palace will play at 7pm.

RESULTS:

FA Cup winners Crystal Palace are playing excellent football even after Eze was sold to Arsenal. West Ham United scored three late goals to beat Nottingham Forest. It was a win Potter needed to give himself and his team a lot of confidence going forward.

Liverpool are not playing high level football yet found a win against Arsenal. It was a stunning free kick that gave them the win but Arteta knows his squad is probably not going to make a serious title challenge.

As for Brighton, they were a goal down but made positive substitutions in the second half to score two goals and hand Guardiola a new record. It is the first time in his managerial career his team has lost two of the opening three games of a season. I have mentioned this before, Manchester City are no longer a dominant force in the Premier League.

Anything could happen in the Champions League or FA Cup as they are (cup games) knockout competitions but in the Premier League over 38 games, they are going to struggle for a top five finish. Congratulations to Brighton.

As far as I am concerned, Manchester City are going to struggle. They put together an impressive run at the end of last season (that managed to coincide with Nottingham Forest and Newcastle United dropping points) that allowed them to finish in a Champions League spot. This season, from the start they showed they can be beaten when teams attack them. Their defence is not solid and they do not have a midfield line that breaks down opponents. As for goals, Haaland has not been prolific for quite some time and if not him where will the goals come from?

Those that compared Guardiola to Ferguson forgot that over time he rebuilt many teams to keep Manchester United successful. In 27 seasons in the top league under Ferguson, this is the Manchester United record:

Premier League won: 13 times
Finished second: 7 times
Finished third: 3 times
Finished outside third: 4 times

In the Premier League era, they never finished outside the top three. The four times they finished outside the top three were in the First Division era. Guardiola has been phenomenal at Manchester City, especially with 4 Premier League wins in a row as well as the treble winning Champions League season but his success fades when compared with Ferguson:

This is the 10th year Guardiola will be managing Manchester City. Though he stands above all other Premier League managers, he cannot be compared to Ferguson and will always be below him.

Guardiola has been brilliant for Manchester City but he is no longer having the effect on his players as he used to. At some stage he will have to be replaced. This is probably his final season at the club because he needs a break and the club need a fresh start, a new manager with new ideas.

^  The good news is Man City's next match is against Man United.  Guardiola and his boys can vent out their frustration and give their neighbors a good trashing.  Lolol. 

The international break could do them some good too and break the bad momentum.  But if they get all three points after United, the bad news is they face Arsenal next and it's an away game.  It's prolly good to bet on that game for Arsenal before the match against United is even played.  Could give a better line.

Some interesting matches this weekend for me are Everton vs Aston Villa which I think is gonna end with a draw.  Can't pass in the genius Moyes' managerial prowess.    Bournemouth vs Brighton is def another interesting one.  I'm leaning Bournemouth but dunno...  These guys are almost equally matched last season?

And of course the big match...  Man City vs Man United.  If there's a time for United to go for the jugular and get a win against City, it's now.  Either way...  It will be hilarious.

There are some interesting games. In their first game with a new manager, Nottingham Forest play away at Arsenal. Newcastle United should beat Wolves. In the late game, Chelsea should win their game at Brentford.

And of course the big match...  Man City vs Man United.  If there's a time for United to go for the jugular and get a win against City, it's now.  Either way...  It will be hilarious. 

I feel confident Everton, Crystal Palace, Chelsea and Manchester United will win their games. If Manchester City lose to Manchester United, I think Guardiola will feel the pressure of fans and media scrutiny.

^  Oh for sure there will be pressure on Guardiola.  But at the same time, I think he'll feel relieved that all signs are pointing for him to leave and not to extend his contract anymore.  Come what may.

The club had a good run with Guardiola.  That was enough...  Time to give the club a new look with a new manager.  But I think it would be better not to get a marquee manager right away,  Maybe copy what Liverpool did after Klopp and hope for the best.  It's been going good for them so far.

Guardiola seems exhausted, he needs a break from the game. I am fairly certain this will be his last season at Manchester City though I am not sure if he will quit before it ends.

Liverpool could have collapsed after Klopp left the club but they recruited Slot and it seems to have been a brilliant transition. He won the Premier League in his first season with almost the same squad as Klopp left behind therefore it cannot be debated how good Slot actually is.

Liverpool seem to be in good hands with Slot as their manager. They were fortunate to first sign Klopp and then Slot. It did not happen with Chelsea and Manchester United, they went from manager to manager trying to find stability.
