^  I quit watching at 3 - 0.  I was thinking that West Ham would put up a good match and make it hard for Chelsea but no...  They've gone worse after the genius Moyes left the club.  He may have been boring but he could outfox better manager and get decent results for a club their size.

And it's funny that West Ham's current manager was touted as one of the would be best before he made the move to leave the Spanish national team to take the Real Madrid job.  It was a bad move for him...  Even Zidane thought about it hard before going for it the second time.

Chelsea had a comprehensive win away at West Ham United. Aston Villa also had a big win in the West Midlands derby hosting Wolves but Fulham beating Newcastle United is probably result of the day.

Crystal Palace are hosting Manchester United in the late kick-off. The game is 10 minutes in to the second half but the game is goalless.

This was pretty much the only game I saw today. My biggest highlight of the EPL weekend so far wasn't Luiz Diaz scoring a brace in 3 minutes but seeing my boy Nunez worked so hard to score — he even shared a tear because it was his first goal of the season and he hasn't scored in a long time. I'm impressed with how well Arne Slot has been filling Klopp shoes — a lot of people doubted him before the season start in this thread. I'm sure they'd be having a rethink now.

I have a weird feeling that Arsenal will upset Man city at home tomorrow but it's going to be a long shot.

The last game of the day ended with a goalless scoreline:

Crystal Palace 0-0 Manchester United

With the games ended for today, Liverpool are at the top of the table followed by Manchester City in second and Aston Villa in third. Surprisingly, Chelsea find themselves in 4th place occupying a Champions League place. Tomorrow, Arsenal travel to Manchester City therefore the table will change as second and fifth place teams will face each other in a big game that I expect Manchester City to win.

These are the games taking place today:

Brighton and Hove Albion vs Nottingham Forest   
Manchester City vs Arsenal

We are all looking forward to Manchester City playing Arsenal but the game will kick-off at 4pm. Before that though Brighton host Nottingham Forest at 2pm in game that would see both teams stay as there are in the league table but a win and three points for either will see them jump to 4th place and occupy a Champions League place.

What a match! 



I must say I enjoyed it a lot. Despite Arteta's "park the bus" strategy.    But even that is an art and he was very good at that once again. They were nearly winning the game if it weren't for that last minute goal.

But Arteta is really used to doing this anyway. He once again didn't let Manchester City win. But if only it didn't end in a draw... It could have been a valuable win on the road to the PL trophy. I hope they win at Emirates.

Seeing Haaland score a goal might also be an indicator that he will perform better in big matches this season.

Yes it will. I do not think the points part of the result will impact what happens at the end of the season but psychologically it will let the other teams know they both intend to win the Premier League.

It was indeed a blockbuster match that had everything, from the tensions to the controversy and everything that a supper Sunday game should have.

I didn't expect the Brighton game to end in a draw but I had my suspicions of the Man city Vs Arsenal game to be a draw. Arsenal fought with everything they had.

I'm sympathizing with them because they didn't deserve to draw this game.

They played like title contenders but I'm glad it ended as a draw as that was my predictions.

Kudos to Man city, they didn't give up hopes but keep pushing and they finally got the equaliser. Arsenal with 10 men playing a Man city full squad and still not losing is indeed impressive.

How many people would have thought both games would end in a 2-2 draw? I think Nottingham Forest have had a brilliant start to the season in their first five games with a W2 D3 L0 record and they deserve to be higher than joint 7th position in the league table. It seems as though manager Nuno Espirito Santo is bringing his own style of play with Nottingham Forest.

As for Arsenal, when they were unfairly reduced to ten men they had to play the whole of the second half under pressure defending wave after wave of attack by Manchester City but in the end with already going to 90 + 8 minutes and seconds remaining, they allowed Stones enough space to score. Arsenal deserved to win the game and based on that performance alone they will end the season either as champions or runners-up.

I thought when Haaland scored that the game is over, but this guy is either in the game and scores three goals or he goes for a dive. Arsenal did well being only 10 players. I thought Man City would destroy them.

Crazy game indeed! However, Arsenal should have take 3 points today that could have count a lot in the title battle but once again City found a way to score in last minute of the game and make a draw.

Haha, you're right with Haaland and I had the same feeling after seeing him scoring so early but then he faded away minute by minute and Arsenal started to play better and better even if statistics won't tell you that but that is only because of the red card from the end of first half.

This was a very entertaining game. Any team that has a player sent off against Manchester City will usually be suffering a defeat but Arsenal have become a formidable force under Arteta, they did not crumble. In fact, they almost won the game by playing virtually the whole of the second half defending. They only ventured in to the Manchester City half on a couple of occasions because they were determined to take all three points.

Manchester City equalised with seconds of the game remaining therefore Arsenal have shown they will show no respect to any team as they try to win the Premier League. As for Manchester City, they will have to contend battling Arsenal until the final day of the season and even then there is no guarantee they will win above them.

It does make you think about what would have happened if Arsenal had kept all eleven players on the pitch, I think they would have won the game.

Haaland would've probably scored more than once in that game if Arsenal hadn't got a red card. Immediately they came back from dressing room for second half, Arsenal fully packed the bus. Haaland didn't stand a chance because there were up to 3 people aggressively tackling him. But yes, Haaland can show up to big games but not all. He has scored against Arsenal a couple of times, Man Utd too. Not sure about Chelsea.

Arteta really needs to tell his boys to stop kicking the ball away and getting red card easily because he goes on go pack bus whenever they go a man down. It was the same against Brighton 2 weeks ago and today against City. The game stopped being competitive after that red card. No interesting plays, just 1-way traffic.

You see, what I realized was that they took to a formidable defensive game after the second goal, but unfortunately, they weren't able to hold it to the final moments... A team like atletico Madrid or aston villa would have made more defensive substitute and everyone will cluster around their goal yard to avoid any unusual penetration...
BTW, City always have a way to break in., and they did just at the right time. They couldn't afford to lose the 3 points.

Well, this was a very tense and exciting game both before and after the sending off. Did Trossard deserve to be sent off? In my view the second yellow card was not only extremely harsh but also unnecessary too. It ruined the whole game plan for Arsenal as they had no choice but to try to protect their 1-2 lead but as you stated, Manchester City scored at the right time. A point for them is better for zero points but for Arsenal they were on the verge of getting three points but will settle for just one.

I really appreciate any improvement from the underdogs and relegation favourites and for that reason I am very excited at the prospect for Nottingham Forest this season. If they finish in the top eight it will be a phenomenal season for them and if they manage to get to the quarter-finals at the very least of the FA Cup it will be even better.

All three of the promoted teams (Leicester City, Ipswich Town and Southampton) have yet to win their first games, hopefully that will change soon.

Fulham won a decent match against Newcastle.  Looks like Newcastle weak in away fixtures is in play again.  

And it's funny...  Look at where Man United and Tottenham are.  

Fulham had an important win against Newcastle United when they were expected to lose. It is very early to have a full understanding of how it will look at the end of the season but here is the current Premier League table:

^  And the fight for their spots between the mid table clubs continues.  This weekend we got Chelsea vs Brighton and Nottingham Forest vs Fulham.  And here's the best match of the weekend for their mid table spots.  Right in the middle of the table...  Tottenham vs Man United.  Lolol. 

I'm not totally convinced with Chelsea yet tbh.  Brighton double chance is at 2.17.    As for Nottingham Forest and Fulham, I think BTTS at 1.78 is decdent.

And for the main event Man U vs Spurs...  What do you guys think of the under 3 goals at 2.30?

I expect wins for Arsenal, Chelsea, Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest. I am confident of draws in the games featuring Newcastle United, Brentford and Wolves. If Arsenal win and Manchester City draw their respective games, it will leave both teams on 14 points

^  Chelsea are looking good in their last couple of match ups but dunno...  I feel like Brighton could get a point here.  And it'll be a good one as it's an away fixture and it's against a supposedly better club that's hard to beat in their own pitch.

I parlayed Man City team total over 1.5, Brighton +1, Nottingham Forest vs Fulham BTTS and Man United vs Tottenham under 3.5 goals at 7.71.    Just a small bet for the lulz.  If I win, gonna bet on some underdogs in UFC Paris.

Wolves seems they are slowly heading towards Championship this year because this team has been in a down spiral for at least 2 years now and since then they were on borrowed time by staying in Premier League. However , the last decade for Wolves has been very impressive by playing into European competitions , having deep runs into them but also having great results in Premier League as well. This weekend they will play against Liverpool and I doubt they can even take 1 point away from them...

I doubt the game will be a big scoring sensational exhibition of football. It will be contested by two teams that desperately need to win to stay close to the top five but they will probably be happy with a point each knowing a defeat for either will raise questions about whether their manager should be sacked. Who would be surprised at the game ending 0-0?
