Gambling is one very hard vice that one needs to control, otherwise it will control you. I have seen many stories of failed ambitions to be rich, broken families, riches to rags stories, and many others that are very unfortunate and very sad to think about. If you are unable to control this vice and be able to gamble strategically, then maybe it is time to quit gambling altogether. Find other sources of entertainment, get a very busy hobby, learn a new skill, and also share experiences to other gamblers that might need assistance in quitting.

That it sees that gambling addiction has a lesser chance to get out of hell. Just like what @Twinkledoe said, even quitting smoking is really hard how much more if we are deeply addicted to gambling.

All of these are base on our control. If can prevent it at first, can't fall into that grave of addiction but if we let it happens it sure there is a place for us. That diversion still depends on how we seriously changing our old habits into a new one. It needs effort and patience, and that it need also support from family and friends.

The two posters before me have hit the nail on the head why children (not even teenagers) should be allowed to gamble.  It may sound a cliche but becoming an adult means you have a little of the maturity needed to decide if you are going to gamble and indeed how much to gamble when you do.  Even socially much-less professionally.  Many people who have a gambling addiction have it because of character flaws that have made them weak to the point they rely on a quick fix when they have a win (no matter how fleeting).

Some may need some family or relative support but there are people whom much prefer on solving the problem on their own which it is truly on oneself to get rid of his own addiction.

If you do find out that you do have a hard time then its time to seek out for someones help.Also when the first time you do step into gambling then we arent kids that isnt aware on the risk of addiction.

We do have that will and awareness on what are the things that can possible happen but when the time comes that you are already on the verge of addiction then all of those controls in mind

Yes, gambling could be very addictive we are all aware of that. From my point of view the problems ć is to recognise the point where gambling from passion turns into addiction. Many miss that point and then often becomes too late.

I agree, finding another habit can change the old habit. If the gambler has no time for gambling, then the psychological process has already begun in the background. Only a few websites offer the limit account function which is used for limiting the betting activity and the gambler can beat this destructive habit with few clicks. Blocking the gambling websites is not a feasible solution because it can cause additional problems too.

The hardest part is finding or creating a new habit, and I think many people have that experience, whether it's related to gambling or not. Yeah, if you want to solve addiction, then you need to improve your self-control. Or if you fail, then you will have a problem with your finances. That is a lot of money. If many gamblers follow the Youtubers without improving their Blackjack skills, they will only lose more money without having a chance to win. Since Blackjack is gambling games that need skills, there is no other way you can win without having skills and luck.

I've been to seven Casino's in Australia and New Zealand and they all give you the once over and if you look more youthful they check for I.D.

I don't think the opposite of being aggressive will deliver a better outcome though, there are some arguments here where gamblers diversify their bets to different gambling games including sports betting, slots, and cards. IT turns out that it will still depend on your luck and your time to conduct research on the best team for sports betting. In addition, you need a skill for skill-based casinos in order to have higher odds of winning. Thus, it all falls to your time and availability to learn and improve your gambling skill. How does it base on luck now? What I am saying is that you can somehow reduce your risks of losing but overall, it will be your luck to determine your fortune for a day.

Talk about beginners luck tempts many new gamblers to play gambling longer than the other gamblers because they think they have more luck in the gambling games. They don't think about how if they lose all of the win money in just a second. That makes them can not stop playing gambling, and instead think about stopping playing gambling after some winning, they still use their time and keep playing the game. But well, their luck will not come to them again after some rounds, and they become curious about their luck. The longer they try hard, the more money they will lose in the gambling games.

It is quiet understandable if you lose in gambling once, twice or thrice and then got your guts to quit gambling or just playing moderately and have already a self control. I have some common friends, and some who i met once who were being so hooked up in gambling. I feel worried about them on how they can afford to lose such a huge amount of money in gambling sometimes their money stays in their hand for a while and then by just a click of gambling lost it all at once. I am not totally a gambler, i played once but worst case got lose at once that's why i told to myself that maybe i am not a lucky person meant for gambling.

Tbh, money has a great part in a person's life, and it's hard for us to risk money since we use it for survival. That's the reason why gambling addiction can ruin the lives of people because it involves money and destroys the mentality of humans. Once a person is full of debt because of gambling addiction, financially unstable, he might regret those and thinks that he has lost a good future in life.

Just like quitting in smoking. Hard to quit from your old habit. So yes, find a certain activity or hobby or sports that you really like and divert your attention to that particular activity. And it is even more difficult now with the pandemic, after all even if we are not in a  lockdown anymore people are still taking many precautions to not get the virus and this means that your opportunities to distract yourself and use your time constructively have go down significantly, after all if you are on your home and you have almost nothing to distract yourself outside your home then online gambling will be there to tempt you to gamble again even if your intention is to leave it and taking into account how necessary the Internet has become to our everyday lives it is not as if you can just disconnect your Internet connection, so the temptation is always there and many fall because of it.
