Afaik it hasn't been decided yet, but icopress said it will be either February 25th or 27th.

So, there are also 6 days left for editing (28 Feb max). We only have about 100 applications, so the distribution will actually look something like this:

20 x $150
30 x $100

Or I'll just put together a list of all the long answers that will be eligible for a $250 x10 prize and a list of short answers that will be eligible for $50 x 10 prizes.

People write casino and exchange reviews for $50, spending an hour or more... but they overlook... putting in 5 minutes of time has a 30% chance of getting $100-150 for one post (in fact, I think that's too generous an offer).

I understand your point, but I also understand those who did not write a detailed description or did not even write anything. Some of the categories may work similarly, so there is always a dilemma in the head, whether the reason is part of the description of the category. Although, since this is all for fun, members could be more relaxed.

I saw that there are still those who did not vote in all categories. I think that many of them will eventually forget to complete their voting post, which will cause disqualification.
So that such votes would not be in vain, I suggest perhaps introducing a points system, one point for each 'correct' vote. Thus, the person who has 5 points will have 5x more chances to be drawn compared to someone with only one point. I assume you will use https://bitlist.co/raffle-manager to draw the lucky winners. I don't know how feasible it is through it, but for example, the list of participants would look like this:

Can I get an exception? The reason why I haven't vote yet is not because I am trying to abstain [it's more to because I'm an elite procrastinator superextraordinaire, really] but because last year's vote take me... three hours IIRC, because I went all out in describing things.

I don't think he meant that people were obligated to do it as a formality in their voting, or any other kind of ultimatum.
He simply wanted to point out that the deadline is approaching, and that some will not have the opportunity to participate in the draw, which is intended for those who voted. Because they did not detail the reasons for their votes.

People still have the opportunity to vote and participate as normal. They just may not be eligible for the extraordinary draw.

Just to be clear, I didn't post my votes to receive any reward, it's just my tradition I do every year, but I never wrote long explanations in the past.
Anyway, I tried to spread the word, and I even translated ANN again this year in our local board

In my opinion, the merit requirement and the reasoning (even a tiny one like "come on, what project is better than joker_josue's talkimg") should be sufficient. I've not written anything constructive, but again, it's got the "voting spirit" I guess.

"Because he's my bounty master and if I don't nominate him he'll with-hold food from my family." I don't think its too much to ask for users to prove that they are capable of original thought, on an internet forum.

I literally think your posts are wonderful. But do I need to go into such detail? If I don't it would be kinda vague and not well-argued. But if I do, it would be tiring and time-consuming. I mean your posts are there anyways. I could just make a post to showcase your posts, if I wanted (lol this sounds too kiss-assy but you get the point). I don't think that getting into too much detail when voting is needed.
