He is running in the Philippines alone, and he has been the face of boxing for Filipinos and everyone knows who he is, so I doubt that he will fight because he want's to gain popularity.

Maybe he needed the funds, however, he has a lot of money already, but for sure if he run for the highest office, he should be prepared and it will cost him in billions in Philippine Peso for sure.

Manny Pacquiao does not need additional popularity and even if he retired a few years ago he will be considered as one of the greatest boxers in the history of boxing and yet he continued to fight to raise money as he is helping with his charity works and that needs big amounts of money and i have seen him saying in some interviews that he is fighting to raise the money and not for his legacy because his legacy is already cemented.

The only hurdle is the location and during a pandemic when everyday things changes it is hard to tell exactly when the fight would happen, even we are waiting for the Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury date as well as they find it difficult to put the match together like they wanted with audience and these fights are made to make money through live gates as well and they might wait for a time when everything is back to a certain level of certainty.

I don't think that the location/venue of the fight is the problem. It may be one but i do think Team Pacquaio is in deep analysis on who will they fight next and of course, the pandemic really is the main reason of the delay because Pacman is a public servant and he can't just leave his office whenever he want.

I am not from the Philippines, so don't know much about his performance as a senator. But if Lorence.xD is correct, then Pacquaio should wait for a decade or so, rather than jumping in to the fray next year. One thing I know is that Rodrigo Duterte is extremely popular. But he won't be able to run again, due to term-restrictions. IMO, Philippines needs someone like Duterte to continue the good work, rather than a public figure like Pacquiao who have very little experience in politics.

Philippines are friends of China, we will not compete with them. lol... but you know, there are news about territorial disputes but I'm not really into politics so I'm not digging more information. What our current president would support is his daughter or his party, but for sure he will not endorse Manny to be the next president.
