Manny Pacquiao challenged Floyd Mayweather once. He accepted that challenge and defeated Pacquiao. Then Pacquiao wanted a rematch, but Mayweather was not in favor saying that he will never fight more than once against the same opponent. With Pacquiao close to retirement, you can't expect the same amount of hype and revenues.

And Floyd has already an upcoming match against Logan Paul. It's known that Paul just came from a match.

As far as I remember, Mayweather stopped his official career in 2017 and all his subsequent fights are just a show for the audience, which has little to do with the sports component. Therefore, the Pacquiao vs. Mayweather fight is still likely, but for this you need to wait for the official end of Manny Pacquiao's career and after some time later we can see a friendly match, like the recent match of Holyfield and Tyson. However, I do not think that Pacquiao will continue his career for many more years and the match with Terence Crawford will really be one of the last ones that is directly related to professional sports.

That was a long time ago, maybe after the fight people were a bit disappointed, but over time they slowly forget it and now want to see a rematch. It's in a different situation this time,  Mayweather is retired, while Pacman is still active, so most likely the favorite will be Pacman.

Honestly, I don't think that there is any point in beating the dead horse again and again. Floyd made it clear many years ago that he is not in favor of a rematch. He is retired from boxing and right now he is not even doing exhibition fights. Also, in general the interest in boxing community for such a rematch has waned. In the unlikely scenario of Floyd agreeing for a rematch, it would have easily garnered more than $300 million two years back. But now the situation has changed and even if such a fight occurs, it is likely to generate only a fraction of that amount.

It will be stupendous fight if ever this will be pushed through this year. Manny Pacquiao has a good reputation in boxing. His matches were always worth watching because he has the moves and the skills of a professional boxer (does not escape punches often compared to other boxers lol). Sorry to offend, but I'm not really fond of watching the opponent that keeps on running to avoid the strikes. I want an aggressive and intense match because it's much more entertaining to watch. Pacquiao fighting with a boxer that has almost the same level and has a title is definitely a must see.

Yes, that's why I can't remember that he officially said that he's retired. But many doubts have been shared that he's unlikely to win with his desire for a higher position.

Why this thread is still up? From what I heard, the fight between Manny Pacquiao and Terence Crawford is called off and now Pacquiao is trying to arrange a match with Garcia. Or is there any chance of this match going ahead, as planned earlier? A week back, Bob Arum explicitly stated that this fight was "dead". And he further made it clear that the fight couldn't realize due to disputes related to the purse. I don't want to comment on the purse, and don't want to say whether it was too low or too high. But mark my words - the chances of Pacquiao getting a fight this year is low. He demands too much, and now the circumstances are not exactly suited for bargaining.
