Arbitrators said that the Robert Zeidman, the software developer, had satisfied the terms of the “Prove Mike Wrong Challenge” contest.
Microsoft’s report said the suspected Chinese influence network was similar to past operations that have been linked to the Chinese Ministry of Public Security.

An arbitration panel ordered MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell to pay $5 million within 30 days to a Nevada software developer for proving Lindell was wrong in his claim that certain data was related to the 2020 presidential election and purported voting machine fraud.

The panel, in its 23-page ruling issued Wednesday, said that the Robert Zeidman “proved the data Lindell LLC provided, and represented reflected information from the November 2020 election, unequivocally did not reflect November 2020 election data.” Zeidman, a software developer, entered the “Prove Mike Wrong Challenge” contest in during a cyber symposium in August 2021.

Zeidman called the ruling “great” in an interview with CNBC.

“I knew from the beginning that I would win,” Zeidman said, citing his review of the data, which Lindell believed showed that China had interfered in the 2020 election in several states and effectively swindled then-President Donald Trump out of reelection.

When Zeidman dug into the source of some of the data “I got a [Microsoft] Word document which was basically a big table of numbers.”

“This was obviously manufactured bogus data,” Zeidman said.

He said the data pushed by Lindell is part of a “fraud among right-wing people” who argue that Trump is the true winner of the 2020 election.

“I’m a right-wing conservative,” Zeidman said, adding that he voted for Trump in both 2016 and 2020.

But Zeidman also said, “I don’t expect to see the money” that Lindell was ordered to pay him.

“I think that Lindell’s got bigger issues with the Dominion case,” he said, referring to a $1.3 billion lawsuit Lindell faces from Dominion Voting Systems for allegedly defaming that voting machine company with his allegations.

Lindell faces a separate defamation lawsuit by another voting machine company, Smartmatic.

“He’ll delay paying me and I don’t know if he’ll have any money after Dominion.”

It reminds me something which happened here in Venezuela, there is a very successful businessman here who was viewed to be the perfect political candidate to defeat the current regime. However, he decided (a personal choice) that he would rather to continue to make a lot of money without directly getting involved with politics.

Could not Mike Lindell do the same and just to worry about taking his pillow business to the next level instead leaning his face to a movement which may just continue to hurt him financially?

Or he actually thought that fully associating his company with politics was a good idea?

Lin Wood, one of Donald Trump's former lawyers, has denied allegations of cooperating against the former president in the Georgia indictment, despite recent court documents revealing a different story.

"There's zero truth to that," said Wood, adding that he was simply responding to a subpoena. "I am always willing to go in under subpoena. I'll go testify and answer their questions, honestly, like I did in the grand jury."

Wood had been requested to testify next month. He was a prominent figure in promoting the claim that the 2020 presidential election had been stolen.

Going against the grand jury's recommendation, Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, who has been investigating efforts to influence the election results in Georgia, chose not to pursue charges against Lin Wood. Instead, she revealed in a court filing that Wood is listed as a witness for the state.

In the court documents, Willis explicitly stated: "L. Lin Wood is a witness for the state in the present case." This disclosure appears to contradict Wood's earlier denials of cooperating against Trump. (Related: Georgia district attorney prosecuting Trump has lengthy history of election denial.)

Willis' team also confirmed in the court filing that four of the Georgia fake electors are now witnesses for the prosecution. They are Vikki Consiglio, Gloria Godwin, James Carroll and Carolyn Fisher, who "are witnesses for the state."

Wood, whose request to retire his law license last July was granted, insisted he has nothing to do with the DA's case.

"I do not know why I am listed as a witness," he said. "I have had no discussions with the DA's office since I testified before the special grand jury several months ago."

In theory one can say whatever one wants outside the court and in front of anyone, lying in such context is not illegal, however, lying under oath carries the punishment of committing perjury.

Also, the legal scenario you are putting onto the table certainly has precedents, there have been members of criminal organizations where members were expected to swear never to flip or offer testimony against each other, the Italian mafias were a good example of it back in the day. Though, people tend to reconsider their oath to their co-conspirators when facing decades behind bars.

It is something I have lately been reading and listening on the internet. It should not be a problem, since there are other countries (even in Europe) where one does not need to manually register oneself as voter in order to participate in elections.

I have listened Republican to say it helps to ease voter fraud, etc.
What is your position on this? It got me quite curious.

Generally speaking, better voter turnout usually favors the Democrats. There may be demographic reasons for that - e.g. younger people tend to lean progressive but also don't vote as actively as more conservative older people. The impact varies by state, in some states it doesn't really matter much because of gerrymandering etc, but some red states may be seeing significant population growth or increased migration of younger people, who could tilt the balance towards Democrats if they voted.

Automatic registration is perceived as making it easier to vote for people who otherwise wouldn't, i.e. increasing turnout and therefore benefiting Democrats. I'm not sure it really works that way... if someone is too lazy to vote they probably won't do it anyway or won't even know they've been registered.

But "voting fraud" is a good dog whistle for trumplings so they'll make shit up about illegal immigrants and dead people being automatically registered and fight that straw man.
