This is only first set of members with whom you can kickstart this interview sessions and later on increase the list size as there are many who needs to be on this list in next phases.
Firstly in this list, I see the names of those who reject the idea of participating in the video interview, and secondly, even if one of them agrees, the viewers will not be interested in a person addressing the audience in a mask, (the thing is that most of these guys value their privacy much higher than their potential "popularity").

Exactly I was picturing in my mind how would these interviews might look like Cheesy

Welcome to our Youtube Channel where Bitcoin Talks... today we have Smiley

or

Well to me and this is only my point of view you can happily differ... we have passed that phases when we were suppose to be hiding under mask ,Bitcoin have came out of that phase long back.

Also I guess if the interview idea is adopted we should be interviewing only those who are ready to come out now... of course no one needs to show their bitcoin wallets, a nice sweet talk and discussion about bitcoin would be enough.

[...]
Yes, we have passed this phase a long time ago ... but not everyone lives in democratic countries, besides, you can hide your identity not only from the government, among the people mentioned there are definitely those who would prefer to hide own involvement in the bitcoin industry, (friends and acquaintances primarily refer to those from whom they would like to hide their participation). Nevertheless, the interview machine will start moving if someone from the iconic persons sets an example ... I suppose the figure of gmaxwell or Cyrus would be suitable for the first issues, (or a masked Cøbra with a distorted voice). Grin

I also respect the privacy of each member and in fact it is personal choice whether they want to publicize their image and thought or not but i just mentioned some esteemed members who have potential knowledge about the forum and can share their knowledge with others also.No doubt gmaxwell,achow101 and cyrus and other staff members are also one suitable to that list.Taking interview session from new and other members would not be fun but yes privacy comes at first phase and was not aware that they have rejected the same idea. But still we can figure out some more ways for channel progress.

I think the viewer attention regarding masks can work both ways; there's clearly Youtubers that have built their brand, and audience around being anonymous, and that in itself creates a element of intrigue. However, I do get what you guys are saying; interviews are usually a little more personable, but at the end of the day, I listen to podcasts, and I don't usually see the guests at all, yet I still listen, and am intrigued about it. Podcasts are extremely popular now too.

For example, while Joe Rogan does have a visual element to his podcasts, I don't actually watch them, I've normally got them on when driving or traveling about, and I imagine its the same for most people. I don't think a visual aspect is absolutely necessary. It probably does help, but I'd probably watch or listen to someone that's got a history in Bitcoin, and his knowledgeable despite them having a mask on.

Also if you have a badass mask, I'm going to be intrigued.

@Cyrus how's the filming going along? I know that it takes long for a one-man video crew to publish a video on Youtube.
It's not a one-man video crew. Guess we now have one less excuse if we miss the mid-September launch  Grin

What would you think of organizing a contest for the banner and the logo for the YouTube channel?
Good idea for organizing a contest, we have several active experienced designers in forum who are ready to jump in and start working on this right away.
I think it's a really good initiative! I've touched the subject on my first reply to the thread - see section Fun ideas that could be good(or not] - but this has been a recurrent suggestion, in one way or another:
It'll be great, but don't you think it makes more sense to just let whoever that'll be responsible [I'm guessing it's someone from your team] for designing the video thumbnails, also handle the part for designing the logo and the banner?
Thanks for the feedback and ideas for the contest. @SFR10 brought some valid points, but since we have 0 graphics so far and being a community channel IMO it would be pretty awesome to have at least one collaborating artist to help out. We're going to need more than a logo and a banner.  We should be able to do our own thumbnails for now. Plus, we don't have a graphics department  Cheesy

That being said, the contest has now officially started, posted it on Discord and Twiter as well: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5354384

I don't think a visual aspect is absolutely necessary. It probably does help, but I'd probably watch or listen to someone that's got a history in Bitcoin, and his knowledgeable despite them having a mask on.
I think that the general audience is well introduced to podcasts (Joe Rogan for sure was one of the early adopters and helped the concept to flourish[1]) but to be honest I see his videos as a complement to his interviews - They don't necessary add value to the discussion in a way that if you're just listening to the episode you'll be fully introduced to the theme as if you were just watching it. I do reckon, however, that there's a target audience that has grown used to see Rogan with his way of being and with a cast of very recognizable guests[2] and that's also fine by me - after all we're talking about millions of views per episode (at least they were used to see him until he moved exclusively to Spotify[3].
Point is, I'm totally fine (and I would completely understand) if the interviews would only be in a podcast format - I think the interviewer would be more comfortable while also providing us with a good opportunity to learn more about who's behind this community. It's a win-win scenario for both sides from my point of view.
That being said, the contest has now officially started, posted it on Discord and Twiter as well: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5354384
Hell yeah! Sadly I'm not able to contribute in that way to the channel due to my deeply lack of "creator" graphical skills, but if there's any need of human help in the future regarding this project please let me know as for sure I would like to help in way possible. Looking forward to see what comes out of it!

Stuff I’d like to hear someone knowledgeable talking about :
1) Bitcoins development, current projects, progress and proposals.
2) wallet education- how to properly make paper wallets, which hardware wallets are best/most secure, how to set fees properly etc
3) POW vs POS
4) Smart Contracts: how far have they evolved and is there any breakthroughs and how is bitcoin using them or plan to in the future.
5) The most legendary posts - Pizza, Hal Finney Stuff, Satoshi escrow proposal, Silk Road etc
6) History of Physical Bitcoins (From Gavin making the first ever proposal, to BitBills & Casascius and current landscape  ( I would be willing to discuss this )

Edit: I know Theymos would not do a video, which I of course understand, but it would be really cool to hear his thoughts about his experiences ..starting from being one of the first here, working hand in hand with satoshi and what that was like and what he thought of satoshi back then, what he believed would happen back then vs what has happened, the story of satoshi handing him over the forum etc.  What a life he's had so far!

Also a Q&A with GMaxx would be awesome!

One thing that I'd really want to watch is forum-legends' interviews. Yes, I know the thread, but a one-hour long video where the Admins of this place talk about their experiences would make me want to not miss a sec. Saying this just to feel more familiar with our Admins, because it seems they didn't want to be interviewed. (Although Greg did)

That's my feedback.

I think most of the people won't agree to this because people here are more concern about their KYC and not revealing their identity.

I sometimes watch this guy on Youtube. He has 8 million subscribers, talks with enthusiasm, and never shows his face. If he has to show his head, he wears a helmet. It's more of an image thing than a privacy thing though: he shows his house and family members on his channel.
My point is: when done in the right way, I don't find it annoying as a viewer, and it even took me a while to realize he hides his face on purpose. I actually prefer it over Youtube tutorials where the guy is just showing his own head for the first 5 minutes.

Just edited my list and did not see yours below mine until finished. I'm with you. I would love to hear theymos' story. How he found out about btc, is he a cypherpunk, what it was like being one of the first here, how it felt working hand in hand with satoshi and what he thought of him back then, the story of satoshi handing over the forum to him etc.  I don't think much of that is too private, and he may have discussed this some here already.. I don't expect him to speak but maybe someone reads questions and his answers to them.

I also would love to see more stuff from Gmaxx..a Q&A would be really cool.  Would be cool to learn a little about Welsh/Hilarious who I really like and respect and Cyrus and others whom I don't know as well.

Also for Loyce to reveal that he is in fact an AI ..just come out with it already man!  Cheesy

Who said for a face to face interview? A podcast of them being interviewed would be more than enough. No need to reveal their face; it'd ruin the mystery that is provided with pseudonimity.

List of people I'd pay to watch/listen their interview (listed in descending order):
  • theymos
  • nullius
  • DannyHamilton
  • o_e_l_e_o
  • achow101
  • Welsh
  • sirius

I think most of the people won't agree to this because people here are more concern about their KYC and not revealing their identity.
KYC means Know Your Customer. Not sure how you understand it.

I think I've watched some of those videos myself, but never really clocked the guy was intentionally hiding his face. More focused on the content. Some people build it into their brand, there's plenty of examples. Plus, I will stand by my statement of it adding to the intrigue. For example, one of the most interesting artists in the UK, is called Banksy. I don't think his artwork is overly impressive, like its good, but I feel like it's the fact that he's anonymous, that the public are so interested, plus he tends to do his artwork on public locations, rather than traditional canvas'.

There's plenty of examples on Youtube, I know there's plenty of gamers that build the fact that they are anonymous into their brand. I mean if you think about it, if you've ever watched Top Gear, what was the allure of the Stig? It was the fact that no one could really confirm who it was at first, and that created an allure. If they had Ben Collins just show up on screen, and race a car around the track no one would be overly impressed. The fact that his identity was a mystery, and there was room for speculation is what caused his popularity. Top Gear played that well.

Point is, I'm totally fine (and I would completely understand) if the interviews would only be in a podcast format - I think the interviewer would be more comfortable while also providing us with a good opportunity to learn more about who's behind this community. It's a win-win scenario for both sides from my point of view.
Hell yeah! Sadly I'm not able to contribute in that way to the channel due to my deeply lack of "creator" graphical skills, but if there's any need of human help in the future regarding this project please let me know as for sure I would like to help in way possible. Looking forward to see what comes out of it!
Yeah, I would say that any video would complement it. You're basically covering all basis then, since certain users won't want to just listen to the podcast, and won't watch unless there's a video. At least if you provide both, your hitting all target audiences.

However, plenty of podcasts actually do animation work along with their podcast, and while that probably isn't suited here, you can see its not always about filming the people talking, but just having something to complement the sound. Although, I think even if guests wanted to keep their anonymity then that would work fine.

That said, I think its best that the Youtube channel focuses on other content before approaching the podcast idea. There's a lot of logistics in setting up a podcast, and this is especially true if you want physical podcasts. If you want to do it remotely, then there's issues with quality assurance, because not everyone will have a perfect setting for a podcast. Loud house, kids, pets, bad mic, and generally bad acoustics.

I think the viewer attention regarding masks can work both ways; there's clearly Youtubers that have built their brand, and audience around being anonymous, and that in itself creates a element of intrigue.
I sometimes watch this guy on Youtube.

Great channel.
I have a minimal interest in cars, and above all on how to fix them, but now I know How to Restore Headlights PERMANENTLY

I would like to see? There's a lot of things you could publish to the channel such as how the forum works, like the dos and don'ts from the unofficial rules of the forum, probably some tutorials on how to's? and probably updates in the forum or just discussions about the forum so more like an announcement pages or like that.

Also, maybe you could add some advertisement on the video aside from bitcointalks forum advertisement here in the forum.

Logged-in to see if the link is up,

It's not a one-man video crew. Guess we now have one less excuse if we miss the mid-September launch  Grin

Wake me up when September ends. mid-September comes. Cheesy

EDIT:

Pilot Episode Transcript.

(In English)

Code:
Hello everyone and welcome to the pilot episode of the BitcoinTalkShow. Bear with us as just
like Bitcoin, this show starts off as an experiment.
And who hasn't heard of Bitcoin today. Everyone
that heard about Bitcoin back in the day quickly associated the Bitcoin project with the Bitcoin
Forum, which became... Bitcointalk.org. Soon after Satoshi Nakamoto announced the
Bitcoin project to the world, he/she/they quickly realized that Bitcoiners as they will
eventually call themselves needed a place to talk.
That place became Bitcointalk.org. And you will be hard pressed to see the term 'official'
slapped on anything Bitcoin, but Bitcointalk is as close as you'd probably get. It's the oldest,
active, and biggest Bitcoin and cryptocurrency in general community out there.
It's a big place and it might be intimidating to some, also familiar to lots and even the place
some crypto nomads call their digital home. And in this journey, I'm honoured to be your
companion and host. As for who I am, that's a mistery for another episode. Let's just
say it's a suiting name for a Bitcoin ninja, though I wasn't even close for the BitcoinTalk
Ninja vote during BitcoinTalk Community Awards 2020. More on that in a later video.
A lot of things happened here along the years and to the best of our knowledge, much of
it's history has not been sung before. Not like this anyway!
We feel we need to do it, and that you, whoever you are, deserve to listen to at least some of it.
So bear with us while we go down the rabbit hole. The goal of this production is that it shouldn't
matter if you've just heard about Bitcointalk today or you're a Legendary member, a Bitcoin OG
or a veteran, whatever you want to call yourself. There's something here, or should be something here for everybody.
Some backstory though. Imagine yourself some years ago, maybe even before you've heard Bitcoin
pumping and dieing so many times, before the forkings of 2017, maybe even before ASICs,
so called specialized mining, was a thing. Like back in the day, ASIC mining, some of them called it a scam, it's never gonna happen
You've just heard about this Bitcoin thing and being the curious individual that you are,
you started doing some research online. You quickly found your way to Bitcointalk.org,
that's where most of the discussion was happening. And for good reason, because everybody simply seemed to be there.
Actually, that's how most of us got there, and so did the Bitcointalk grew.
The nostalgics among us will probably say that's when the Bitcointalk forum was at it's peak.
When the so called signal to noise ration was off the roof, and even though the community's
goal was never to expand, expansion naturally happened. A lot of the big crypto services
and cryptocurrencies you use today were suggested, discussed and announced there.
And no matter creed or nationality, if you were fed up with banks or, quite the opposite,
in an unbanked country and looking for a means of payment, people gathered here to talk on
the technology, the principles, the phylosophies and of course... the value of Bitcoin.
Speaking of the value of Bitcoin, actually one of the longest functional forum threads worldwide, a world record as far as we're
researched, is the Bitcointalk Wall Observer thread, with well over half a million replies
and 29 thousand pages and counting strong. Remember when Bitcoin was under 29 thousand
US? That place remembers! But more about that in another video.
The free and liberal nature of this place gave birth to a plethora of interactions,
and even a now very popular way of advertising through so called signature campaigns, where
a user would advertise a service in his signature space in the posts that he makes.
A Bitcointalk signature became a signature of BitcoinTalk, pun intended. There's mixed feelings about
that and the spam it's generated, because "paid to post" is bound to generate spam, but either love it or hate it,
it changed lots of people's lives forever. But that and lots of other history tidbits for episodes to come.
Back to this channel. Just like lots of ideas in crypto, the thought of creating a Bitcointalk Youtube channel isn't new.
It originated on Bitcointalk and was posted a long time ago.
And I think it's time for you, casual viewer, to get a hold of Bitcoin's history and news from
a new, but also old perspective. Quite possibly the oldest vantage point in crypto.
It might come as a surprise to you that you could read and even engage in a community so close to
Bitcoin's inception, so close to that Satoshi-era vibe. It actually still has the same look
and feel to it. And some of the people from back in the day are still around, spreading their
knowledge and having some fun along the way. And the aim of this channel is that both strangers
and people calling Bitcointalk home could absorb information and interact with Bitcointalk
in a different way. This show's aim is not to be just about history, but also the present and
the future of our community. We received great ideas and feedback in the suggestion thread
over at BitcoinTalk. Looking forward to getting more content ready and implementing your suggestions.
We don't yet know how often will these videos come out, we just started filming and editing a first batch.
Please like this video if you enjoyed it, dislike it if you haven't, no problem. Go ahead and subscribe to the channel if you
want to see more content. And don't forget to comment down bellow, or reply in the Bitcointalk
thread I just mentioned about. Links are in the description. We're just getting started, so
looking forward to more feedback and video ideas!
Until next time, live long and prosper! Corny outros should be a thing on this channel. Bye!

Olá a todos e sejam bem-vindos ao episódio piloto do BitcoinTalkShow.
começaram a fazer pesquisas online.
o valor do Bitcoin.
nova e simultaneamente velha perspectiva.
Alguns utilizadores dessa altura continuam presentes, a espalhar
Adeus!
Um agradecimento especial a:

I've been away for a while, good to see that this idea has some realization.
Is there anything I can contribute to the project in my free time, it's not much time but I could make Bulgarian translation, subtitles, etc. Smiley

My point is: when done in the right way, I don't find it annoying as a viewer, and it even took me a while to realize he hides his face on purpose. I actually prefer it over Youtube tutorials where the guy is just showing his own head for the first 5 minutes.
Probably I'm on the minority here, but I also don't evaluate the "captive" factor - as in grabbing my attention in order for me to finish it - due to them showing faces of whoever is on the podcast or not. To me the content & production value is > than just having a video feed back and forth between the interviewer and the guest - sure it's awesome to see as a video feed, but I for sure wouldn't consider it to be damaging to the viewership of the video. The personality of whoever is running the show, if defined enough, can be "felt" by the way the does/host his podcast/talk-show from my point of view as well.
I also think that this would be an interesting and balanced way of approaching the channel - perhaps setting up a roadmap of content to unlock after X amount of time has passed? Or at least if we, as a community, feel that the channel could add videos of different nature once it reaches to certain points in time regarding viewership and subscribers? Starting big would be awesome but I also fear that too much content may split viewers - we have lots of great ideas already on this thread, I'm sure a good planning would do wonders regarding scalability.
I've been away for a while, good to see that this idea has some realization.
Is there anything I can contribute to the project in my free time, it's not much time but I could make Bulgarian translation, subtitles, etc. Smiley
As stated previously I really don't have any kind of design ancestors in my genes. However I would for sure be glad to help in any way that I can, and in this aspect I could give a bit of help regarding Portuguese (Pt-Pt) related work.

Welcome! Sounds awesome, having subtitles, especially for the more educative content would be helpful.
