<...> BTW, there's no special funding from the forum for this.
Oh, that's interesting. So, you are funding this I think it was an original @theymos idea, with your own pockets? Thank you! I don't think you are looking for sponsorship, but this should be carefully evaluated (sponsorships are different from simple advertising, I think).

Oh, that's interesting. So, you are funding this I think it was an original @theymos idea, with your own pockets? Thank you! I don't think you are looking for sponsorship, but this should be carefully evaluated (sponsorships are different from simple advertising, I think). Then sponsorship should be a taxable event i guess, it will make it more complicated. Interesting, I saw a thread where theymos said that would consider donate some forum funds for this, but it seems that so far it's just a concept/idea. Perhaps let's see how it goes in the first year? I slightly touched the subject of sustainability long term with some ideas that could be improved/discussed as well:
Sustainability long term
I know that this hasn't been brought up, and perhaps the creators of it aren't really looking for funding, but I believe that at least some options could be considered. To that end, I have come up with two ideas - all related with BTC: - Accept donations from users to a certain address - This one doesn't reinvente the wheel. I was thinking of each user having it's own address to contribute to - similar to the Cooper Membership one (we could even create some sort of badge system based on the amount of donation made per user). OR, if creating a "badge system" revealed to be too much complicated due to coding / lack of staff to implement it, I would just rather create an address to accept BTC donations from.
- Accept sponsorships from services that already run their own campaigns here (like ChipMixer for example) - This one can be... not consensual. I agree that since we're going to create a channel directly related to our forum, these kind of requests/approaches will eventually appear. I'm just unsure if we really need to start "mixing" a bit of services that only use our forum to advertise or simply start saying "OK I, as bitcointalk, will start making small references to you in our channel because you pay us too". I don't think it's a bad idea necessarily but I also don't really know if it's a right decision regarding the moral aspect of it.
- MERCH! - Well...Why not right? Granted, there are thousands of merch already regarding BTC and all of that, but I think we could also host another contest to design our own graphics / memes / whatever they be. This one does involve more issues such as managing orders, finding a partner to produce the items, solve any issues upon the item being received so I would consider this one as a last resort.
From those, Welsh (that I can remember) "fancied" the idea of mech items being produced, but I reckon that it may be something that can be harsh in the beginning - perhaps something mid-term ? If we outsource all the work (except art concepts) I'm sure it could prove to be a reasonable source of income for this project.

In the spirit of the “Yes Theory” YouTube channel, it might be cool to find someone from the forum and fly them somewhere out of the blue to experience something. Maybe surprise a veteran member and fly them to Bitcoin Beach and document the experience for the channel. I’m sure there are lots of Bitcoin places to see around the world and lots of forum members to take around. Traveling is also a lot cheaper than buying someone a house.

In all seriousness, this would be cool, I think this would probably be more of a possibility if the channel was backed by forum funds though. I wouldn't say I fancied them, I just brought up being surprised that no one had run with that idea yet, but also bringing it up in jest, because of how ludicrous some of those souvenirs were. Merchandise doesn't particularly interest me, generally. Unless, its something pretty cool. I've got a massive collection of weird cool stuff, but t-shirts, and stuff don't really interest me. Though, I know how popular merchandise can be, and how much people love it.

Maybe some sort of fundraiser would help get things going. When I wanted to help generate donations for NastyFans I started selling my own coins as a fundraiser and donating the proceeds. Maybe a Bitcointalk YouTube Channel supporter coin or t-shirt or NFT or all of the above could be sold off to raise funds for exciting things like this.

Fine. I'll volunteer to be the unfortunate soul that has an all expenses paid holiday in the Burj Al Arab hotel in Dubai . Dude, I would totally want this. If the channel were to get going and start generating advertising revenue I think this could also be a fairly cheap way to generate potentially viral content while promoting Bitcoin adoption at the same time. Not a fundraiser but a merch store or maybe a bitcointalk-issued bitcoin book that sells on Amazon and stuff. It's probably more applicable to my channel though than Bitcointalk's since: I think this would probably be more of a possibility if the channel was backed by forum funds though.
This forum has, what, at least 500 BTC in storage or something? That's astronomically more than enough money to hire people and jumpstart an official bitcointalk Youtube channel for say, $5000 a month in wages.

This forum has, what, at least 500BTC in storage or something? That's astronomically more than enough money to hire people and jumpstart an official bitcointalk Youtube channel for say, $5000 a month in wages. According to theymos, this forum owns lots of money. Currently, there are two addresses containing the forum funds with a total of 1250 BTC (~= $58 million). One of them, which is T19 3-of-5 multisig has 500 BTC and theymos' cold storage, 750 BTC. I'm not sure if both of them are strictly for the forum and why theymos chose to split 500 BTC to five trustworthy users' judgment, but I observe that the coins get dusty while they remain untouched... I mean how much money does a forum, even that big, need to be maintained for one year? More than 1-2 BTC? I doubt. Maybe surprise a veteran member and fly them to Bitcoin Beach [...] I'm also willing to help in case Welsh's & NotATether's submissions aren't enough. For the sake of the YouTube channel, guys.

Yeah, at the moment though it doesn't seem theymos is designating forum funds as of yet per Cyrus' reply. Possibly waiting for results rather than investing in something that we don't actually know how many people would be interested in Bitcoin content. If the channel were to get going and start generating advertising revenue I think this could also be a fairly cheap way to generate potentially viral content while promoting Bitcoin adoption at the same time. Maybe some sort of fundraiser would help get things going. When I wanted to help generate donations for NastyFans I started selling my own coins as a fundraiser and donating the proceeds. Absolutely, it sounds ridiculous at the moment, but when sponsorships, and all that sort of stuff start flowing in, its quite ridiculous how much Youtubers actually earn. Obviously, starting off in the hardest part, but Cyrus seems to be investing in the right ways, i.e a crew to record. I like the supporter coin, in fact I liked the idea of the 10th anniversary coin, however that proved difficult. I even contacted a few coin manufacturers myself, and most were not interested or didn't reply. As for advertisements too; we could potentially offer a package deal where we advertise the service both on the forum, and on the Youtube channel, that obviously depends on if theymos wants to get involved, and how official the channel becomes.

I was wondering, would using a signature to promote this "contest" be allowed? I was trying my best at trying to come up with something "decent" and I ended up using the awesome work made by @roslinpl[1] to create something like this: ░░░░░░░▄▄▄▄▄▄ ░░░░▄██████████▄ ░░░██████████████ ░░██████░▐▌░██████ ░█████░░░░░░░▀█████ ██████▄▄░░▄▄░░██████ ████████░░▀▀░▄██████ ████████░░▄▄▄░░█████ ██████▀▀░░▀▀▀░░█████ ░█████░░░░░░░░█████ ░░██████░▐▌░██████ ░░░██████████████ ░░░░▀██████████▀ ░░░░░░░▀▀▀▀▀▀ ░░░▀▀▀████████▀▀▀

I reckon it could be 100x better - it was my first attempt at doing pixel art - but it was something that I've just remembered and I wanted to know what you guys think of it. Of course only users who aren't enrolled in campaigns would be able to wear them, but hey it's better than nothing right?

especially for the more educative content would be helpful.
I really agree with this interesting idea, especially getting newcomers interested in BitcoinTalk and participating in the addition of knowledge about bitcoin and Alt coint here. I hope the education will be useful for those BitcoinTalk developers in the future.

I really agree with this interesting idea, especially getting newcomers interested in BitcoinTalk and participating in the addition of knowledge about bitcoin and Alt coint here. I hope the education will be useful for those BitcoinTalk developers in the future. Setting up bitcointalk official YouTube channel to promote the educational content would really be good and best idea which will serve a purpose on YouTube. For example when you can search for bitcoin and crypto related videos on youtube you would come up with tons on them and have some cheap thumbnail like make $100k within a day and maximum profits without any knowledge and similar things. Those are watching it want to have knowledge and when they watch them they get eradicated to false direction and mostly they are promoting some shitcoins over there and want to make videos only and earn from it even if they don't know about the working of bitcoin also as these days it's most hot topic and searched content over YouTube. But in this time when forum will have it's own channel to educate people about bitcoin and other crypto stuffs without the aim of earning and providing quality videos and information to people more awareness could be spread among people and they will come to know about bitcoin in detail and will surely like it. The Chanel could have : 1) Educational Videos: For such videos there could be playlists setup like bitcoin and altcoins differently. For bitcoin related videos people could learn all the technical and non technical aspects of bitcoin like how POW works, mining related activities, what are memepool, mining pools, how transactions are created and all the stuffs in shorts video to give them idea about it.Same could be done by making some altcoin related videos and to provide them knowledge of them so they could make comparisons between them without any shitcoins promotion like other youtubers are doing. 2) Most important events in bitcoin history: There could be separate series of most interesting and important events in bitcoin history on the forum like setting up Bitcointalk forum by satoshi on November 22,2009 Most expensive bitcoin transaction of buying two pizzas worth 10,000 bitcoins which is worth millions today 3) Some interviews sessions with members: The channel could also conduct interview sessions with the volunteer senior or high rank members who have contributed well on the forum to educate the audience about how helpful bitcointalk forum could be to them in learning about the crypto market.Ask them about their journey on the forum and publish the same in video format or audio format whichever suits it. 4) Forum exploration video: We can also make one video in which we can tell people how to explore the forum and look for useful topics made by other members which can educate and further help them in gaining and sharing knowledge on the forum.Different boards can be explained to them in one short video to help them in best manner if they visit the forum. There are lot of other things which we can do but the channel needs to have funds for keep it running as making it in best way is not one man's task and you need YouTube gears and to obtain best quality you need to spend funds for them. But still it's good that @Cyrus is trying his best to start his channel and hope he gets some support.Rest as members we are always ready to contribute in any way possible.

An interview with Satoshi nakamoto would be perfect for beginning Joking aside, the freedom of bitcointalk should be there too. For example, once a week, a member is determined by lottery, and he can prepare and upload a video on this channel. But there is no freedom in youtube as much as bitcointalk so after checking video his/her video can be watched by every cryptolover from all around the world.

My small contribution led us to 15 followers, and I also did a retweet. I haven't been active on Twitter for a long time, but I see that I have about 2300 followers - I hope some of them will be interested in this project.
