Thanks for that! The WO is already mentioned in some of the upcoming videos and there's a dedicated video upcoming about the Wall Observer thread. Anything special you guys want to see featured, something that we definitely shouldn't miss?
Feel free to reply in the show's thread so we won't go too OT here. Thanks!

not sure where the rollarcoaster guy gif came from so maybe not WO but that meme sums btc up so appropriately it needs a shout out at the very least.

edit: crosspost from WO thread because i cant follow instructions lol

I'll admit much higher quality than I was expecting for a first video, so good job on that! Apart from mixing up the words towards the end Wink. As for the day on the videos being released, I'm not sure if it'll make much difference in the grand scheme of things? I guess my natural thought process would be you'd get more viewers on a Friday because less people are in work, but I'm not sure if that would be true as that's probably counter balanced by the people that go out for the weekends. I'm guessing release time as in the time of day would be more important than the day, though I honestly don't know much about the Youtube algorithm, and when's the best time. Something you could probably experiment with.

I guess as long as you're making relevant, and interesting videos the views won't matter too much, as the video will be found regardless over time.

Like at few seconds of the video he says fuzzy wuzzy was a bear which is originally child rhyming from Cooltime kids description of warriors which i believe. And yes he seems to be mixing up some words at the last and then the screen rolls out like cut it like after each section he explained in this teaser.

There are different weekends for different nations but most of them are Monday-Friday and have two days off and you could have gained more views on these days but many Muslim nations works in opposite directions like working from Saturday to Thursday and so it depends upon how much audience the video is targeting. Here check different weekdays and weekends for countries Workdays and weekend. But i would not say the views solely depends on these week days as we can take out some time to watch these videos in normal days also.

I'm guessing release time as in the time of day would be more important than the day, though I honestly don't know much about the Youtube algorithm, and when's the best time. Something you could probably experiment with.
These are some results i find out for the youtube algorithm and time to post youtube videos :

Quote
Generally speaking, posting during the week between 2pm and 4pm is a good starting point for most YouTube channels. On weekends, uploading videos to YouTube between 9am and 11am is advisable. You should note that although there are many sources that have similar views on the best time to post on YouTube, understanding your audience’s activity on YouTube is the most practical way to find the best time that works for you.

I guess as long as you're making relevant, and interesting videos the views won't matter too much, as the video will be found regardless over time.
The content should be adequate enough that it targets all age groups and make them interested in the videos and you will probably find more views and subscribers.Although the audience is interested in other stuff like gaming, music, and other gadgets but believe me when you make videos with intersting format and tell them facts and figures you will see people becoming interested and doing research about it and then you will see channel growth. You only need to work for quality content at this time not major promotion and slowly indulging people in your events.Rest it will take time for people to find this gem.

If more members of the forum follow the channel and like the content and even share
the content there is no reason why it couldnt be successful.

I voted for Friday, my thinking is that more people will have time at the weekend to
catch up on social media content, Friday's release should be more recent in a
followers feed.

That might be one of the reasons why there are only 29 subscribers at the moment--a number that leaves me dumbfounded, because I know damn well there are way more people than that who've been awaiting the release of the channel.

It's easy to overestimate the importance of that metric, though.  Some people can watch loads of content on a given channel and still never subscribe to it.  I do that a whole bunch.  No idea why.  But based on what some youtubers are saying when they're asking people to subscribe, I'm definitely not the only one who does it.

It's easy to overestimate the importance of that metric, though.  Some people can watch loads of content on a given channel and still never subscribe to it.
I understand that, I truly do.  But my first thought upon seeing the teaser video was to smash that like button and subscribe for more content (a phrase that I'm sure every single one of you recognizes).  I subscribed immediately because I wanted to support the channel and help it out in a small way by adding to its subscriber numbers--and whether other folks who've posted in this thread don't have a habit of subscribing to channels they watch frequently or not, I kind of expected the same sentiment from many of them, that they'd show their support by subbing to the channel.

And believe me, I very rarely subscribe to any channels.  I'm exactly the type of Youtuber who doesn't need that functionality to help me find stuff worth watching.  But subscribing to bitcointalk's channel?  That was a no-brainer for me.

BTW, added a short poll on when the videos should be released.
I don’t think the day of the week new videos are released is particularly important, as long as it is consistent. You should set this according to your schedule so that you can reliably release videos that day. If your release schedule doesn’t match when viewers are able to watch new videos, viewers will watch new videos later. If you say you will post new videos on Tuesday, and someone can view new videos on Thursday, if they check your channel on Thursday to not find a new video, they might not come back to look for additional videos.

PSA: Youtube seems to be deleting comments containing BitcoinTalk. So far it seems to delete just links, seems Youtube is allergic to links. You could read more about that here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5365512

I am not surprised at all, google is censorship king right now and I think they are also deleting certain words and phrases (bitcoin could be one of them) not only links.
It might be a good idea to post videos on multiple platforms and Twitch or Vimeo comes first on my mind as a good alternatives.

Yeah, it's funny how their original motto was "Don't be evil".  They've certainly veered way off course from the early days, and I'm not even sure how they defined "evil" back then.  Granted, censoring certain things isn't the worst offense known to man, but they're involved in all sorts of shady shit.

Not sure why they're deleting references to bitcointalk, unless the ".org" part is included, in which case their bots might detect it as link spam.  I can't see any reason why they'd have anything against the forum, so it's probably some kind of glitch in whatever nefarious algorithm they're running to detect words they don't approve of.  Speaking of that, videos made by paid Youtubers sound ridiculous.  They have to bleep out words like rape, profanity, and all sorts of other ones advertisers probably came up with that shouldn't be spoken.

I swear, 1984 is here, but it's not the government that's completely playing the big brother role.  I'd say corporations are filling that one nicely.

This is what happens when a service becomes too mainstream. I started watching and uploading videos on YouTube really early (when it had this symbol! [1]) and it, then, began to ruin. Maybe around 2015-2016?

I swear, 1984 is here, but it's not the government that's completely playing the big brother role.  I'd say corporations are filling that one nicely.
I was thinking of a song that I hadn't heard it in a long time and once I opened up YouTube it showed it in the recommended, I SWEAR! Orwell's masterpieces couldn't be more accurate.

PSA: Youtube seems to be deleting comments containing BitcoinTalk. So far it seems to delete just links, seems Youtube is allergic to links. You could read more about that here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5365512
Ridiculous. I didn't think I could hate Google more before this.

I'm wondering whether this was implemented when Google banned Bitcoin advertisements? Maybe, just maybe they would change this if contacted about it. I do doubt it though. This probably means that monetization of the channel would likely be difficult in the future, simply because it's called the Bitcointalk show, and if they've gone to the extent of banning "Bitcointalk" in the comments, I imagine a lot of Bitcoin related channels aren't monetized or find it difficult to do so.

I'm wondering whether this was implemented when Google banned Bitcoin advertisements? -snip-
Just a quick note Welsh - assuming you're referring to the ban around 2018[1], they've recently started relaxing this constraint and now allow ads regarding Cryptocurrency exchanges and wallets if they abide by certain rules[2].
I am not surprised at all, google is censorship king right now and I think they are also deleting certain words and phrases (bitcoin could be one of them) not only links.
Yeah, it's funny how their original motto was "Don't be evil".  They've certainly veered way off course from the early days, and I'm not even sure how they defined "evil" back then.  -snip-
Funny you've talked about their motto as I've had a recent discussion with some friends that weren't aware of this because the motto is a bit more "modified" now - "Do the right thing"[3] - which is somewhat more open to interpretation (which is good for them because it allows them to "adapt" to any kind of social situation at the moment I guess).

Regarding the deletion of comments reported by Cyrus, it just seems very odd to me indeed (and it explains some random comments that I saw on the channel to test this theory). I've since visited some reference guides to try to understand what could be wrong here but so far I haven't got anything consistent. If we go by the "External links policy" by Google[4] this is what we got:
Quote
Don’t post links in your content on YouTube if they fit any of the descriptions noted below.
  • Links to pornography
  • Links to websites or apps that install malware
  • Links to websites or apps phishing for a user’s login credentials, financial information, etc.
  • Links to websites, apps, or other information technology that give unauthorized free access to audio content, audiovisual content, full video games, software, or streaming services that normally require payment
  • Links to websites that seek to raise funds or recruit for terrorist organizations
  • Links to sites containing Child Sexual Abuse Imagery (CSAI)
  • Links to sites selling items noted in our regulated goods guidelines
There is no need to say that we don't fit in any of those categories, so what gives? It seems that this isn't a new problem and for sure has been happening for quite some time as I've find reports[5] from users facing the exact same issue (I'm sure there are loads more out there). Do you get some kind of notice that the comments were removed Cyrus? Perhaps you could contest them and give out the reason?
I've also seen some reports that some channels choose to block links since they usually are from spam comments[6][7] - perhaps that option is turned on by default? Do you see some option called:
Code:
"likely spam" bucket or "held for review" bucket in their "comments" tab in YouTube Studio.

Yeah, this is partly why I suggested contacting them to see if they would remove the keyword ban. It does seem that Google went with a blanket like approach where they banned anything, and everything related to Bitcoin, probably without much human review. Now they've relaxed the rules when advertising Cryptocurrencies on their platforms, they haven't reviewed the keyword bans.

I understand from a certain point of view they want to protect their users from scams, and they don't want to be held responsible if a user gets scammed because it was advertised on their platform, however Bitcointalk doesn't offer anything it's in itself a platform to discuss, and that's the point I'd be making if I were to contact them.

Though, I'm not quite sure what sort of contact options there are, as I said I like to stay away from Google products as much as possible.

I swear, 1984 is here, but it's not the government that's completely playing the big brother role.  I'd say corporations are filling that one nicely.
Yeah governments and politicians are just parasitic puppets controlled by big corporations and people behind them.
If anyone thinks that Twitter and other social media is any better, think again because I just saw that Luke Dashjr is most recent ban on twitter, and I don't event know the reason why.
For anyone who don't know Luke Dashjr is Bitcoin core developer contributing Bitcoin since 2011.

Ridiculous. I didn't think I could hate Google more before this.
Ignoring and not using their services is much better option than hating.
Decentralized alternative for youtube would be great to have but I don't think most people is ready to give up their google addiction.

Cannot wait for more videos and I think your contents are more interesting than other bitcointalk vlog.
This is official channel for the forum and it has some really good content to be shared on the youtube and that's also relevant one not like the crap one we usually see on so called youtube vlogs and i will say I have never seen them because they usually talk about shilling their fake crypto accent and suggesting others to follow them for the next updates and see what and how they are doing things in which i am not at all interested in seeing. So i would also say not to compare them atleast with our channel. They are just making videos to earn from ads and fake coins promotions but this channel is aimed at providing education to the general public and make them aware about forum as well bitcoin. So this is something which could not be compared with all those fake crypto experts.

Ridiculous. I didn't think I could hate Google more before this.
Ignoring and not using their services is much better option than hating.
Decentralized alternative for youtube would be great to have but I don't think most people is ready to give up their google addiction.

They will always exercise their central control over these platforms like deleting videos and comments which they find inappropriate according to them.Google have relaxed their crypto ban and now allows ads for crypto but really don't know what problems they have with bitcoin or bitcointalk and deleting the comments.Usually certain comments which contain scam words or fake links that arev not related to the videos are detected by the algorithm and are deleted but they still are centralised platforms which will perform their own implementations.

Talking about decentralised alternatives to youtube :

There are still some decentralised YouTube alternatives but still they don't have much hype because YouTube caters to the most of the video content on internet as billion of users have registered I'd and various channel's post millions of video daily. There are still some platforms like LBRY and D.Tube which have similar user interface compared to youtube but still many don't use them if we compare it with YouTube.

So the companies working on such platform will take some time and may or might not have that much hype in intial years even if they managed to make it.Speaking truly they have dedicated team for the work and our man is working alone and it could take some time but very much before the launch of what you are referring to.

At current the community for these platform is less but if the same continues over the youtube then we would see these alternatives rising within short period of time and they will also find audience soon and most importantly they are crypto friendly and Decentralised which puts them ahead of Youtube in these manners.

But we need to do our task at best despite of these cheap tactics by them as the channel is not going to stop from progressing and we all will make sure of it.So i am also tring on my side to promote it on my level.I have made an banner(not so good but also not too bad Cheesy) to share it with my known ones on my groups and social media to make them aware about the same that there is channel on which they can trust that it will provide them adequate knowledge unlike those ridiculous youtubers. Here have a look at it:

Cyrus I'm wondering; you've mentioned that you hired a video production team, is this something which is a full time thing for them, and you now? Since, from what I can gather you intend on releasing frequent episodes of the BitcointalkShow, I'm assuming what will be on a Friday judging on the poll results, I'm guessing to keep up any type of consistent schedule that's going to take a number of days to film each time, right?

My thinking is; user interviews at least virtual ones, might actually be great filler content, and won't require too much setup/production, which still being entertaining. At least that's my thinking, I might be underestimating the production value of a podcast there.

Ignoring and not using their services is much better option than hating.
Decentralized alternative for youtube would be great to have but I don't think most people is ready to give up their google addiction.
Google have a monopoly so it's very difficult to avoid actually using their services. I've even gone to the extent of using a GSI on my phone so that I don't have any Google services installed, but I've used gmail though I'm in the process of moving everything towards Proton Mail only old stuff now is on my gmails. However, I've used all sorts of their services mainly because everyone else does, and they usually use Google to point you to certain things, and obviously there's AWS which a lot of people are using to host content. So, the way it's currently they're hard to completely ignore as all of us are probably somewhat dependent on them.

I'm not even bothered about a decetralised video platform, just one that doesn't outright censor. I mean Bitcointalk isn't exactly decentralised, and I think we do a decent job around censorship, though I'll try, and avoid patting ourselves on the back there. However, three's plenty of websites, and services which don't censor as much as Google does.

Thanks for pointing it out as mistakenly i made the copies from the youtube channel bar but now i have edited the banner here also and resend them in my group by broadcasting the message to all of them.

Actually i have send them the banner along with the original links to all so that's not a problem and @ was just a formality and i know it's not included in the webpages but now i have set them to the original names only so as to avoid any confusion.Hope it will work as the subscribers are 31 and views stuck at 279 but we can try to push it on our levels and you see there will be results.
