Could be a good move on his part to vacate all his belts, so that there will be no pressure on him to defend it. So he can choose whoever he wanted to fight next and most likely this could all be for the his money retirement.

And if I'm not mistaken, there are a rising star in Agit Kabayel. Not saying that Usyk is afraid of him, but perhaps he just wanted to retire with no losses on his record and doesn't want to go to a one last fight and chances of him losing is high because he is facing a young and very motivated fighter who wanted to defeat him.

Usyk wanted to clean up the HW in this era, so his next fight will be against Wilder,

But not sure if this is a good decision as we have seen that Wilder is no longer in his prime and just surviving recently with a good to decent paycheck.

So why not keep on boxing, holding belts and dictating rules? Maybe that decision was forced after bad performance in last fight against Rico Verhoeven the kickboxer? He is 39 years old already and has accomplished everything. He took the fight with Veerhoeven for money only and we could tell that his motivation was not the same as before. He could continue fighting cherry picks and hold the belts hostage, like Canelo was doing, but instead he is doing the right thing and vacating them.

There are still good fighters in the division, but we cannot expect him to keep fighting forever. He is at a point where he can bow out in a dignified way with his health intact, instead of trying to drag things out for longer than they need to be.

His performance against Veerhoeven was perhaps the sign he needed to know his career has reached its natural conclusion. Wilder is beyond washed and I expect that to be a mismatch, but his name is credible enough to serve as a final showcase.

To be honest, there is nothing much left for Usyk to achieve. He already held cruiserweight belts, left them and moved up to heavyweight division. Got all belts there. He has beaten the game He could continue farming money by defending belts, but I think he has earned more than enough for fights against Fury, and Verhoeven fight brought him good and easy money. Quitting professional sport and doing side quests like exhibition fights imho is best for easy money for him right now

Usyk wanted to clean up the HW in this era, so his next fight will be against Wilder,

Wilder for me is not a good opponent for his last dance because like you said Wilder is not on his prime anymore. If ever the two meet in the ring if will be just a money fight for both of them as nothing is at stake. I think the best last dance partner would be Rico Verhoeven as he struggled to beat him in his last fight. If the referee have not stopped the fight and the fight goes the distance, maybe Rico would win that one so it's like there is some unfinished business between them, a good storyline for the rematch.

Before his long-awaited fight with Anthony Joshua, Tyson Fury is confirmed to have a warm-up fight against Polish boxer Mariusz Wach.
The fight will take place on 24th July in Thailand.

Wach had a rich boxing career with 39 wins and 13 losses. In his prime, he fought for the belt against Wladimir Klitschko and lost by decision. He is well past his prime at the age of 46 and has only won 3 out of his last 10 fights, so even Tyson in bad shape should handle him with ease.

Wach is a pretty tall guy, 202cm according to his Wikipedia page, so Fury will not have that much of a height/reach advantage.

Good storyline indeed but Dmitry Bivol's plate is full right now as he had an unfinished business with Arthur Beterbiev and a possible clash with David Benavidez is slowly taking place. Usyk has said that he has only one fight left in him before calling it quits, for me he should have a rerun with Rico Verhoeven as their fight was quite controversial because of that early stoppage.

Bivol Vs Usyk would be an absolute epic fight, but I don't think it will materialise. Usyk's team probably already has a partner for Usyk's "last dance," and it's likely to be some big name from heavyweight. There were rumours it could be Deontay Wilder, which, to me, does not sound very exciting.

Bivol Vs Usyk would have a major problem of weight difference. I don't think Bivol would be interested in bulking up that much, and Usyk is unlikely to be willing to go through an extensive weight cut, not at his age and at this stage of his career.
The Russia Vs Ukraine promotional angle could be exciting for the fans, but not so much for boxers themselves. They are both respectful individuals, but paying respect to a boxer from an enemy country might not be taken too kindly by fans from either country, so it could be an awkward situation for both.

I think Beterbiev could be a better fit. He's technically Russian, but more of a Dagestani and I believe he lives in Canada. He's 41, so older than Usyk, so he's also looking for the best option to finish his career. He's more of a heavy-hitter than Bivol and may be more willing to gain some weight.

Rico Pyramids is a very small name in the sport of boxing to be Usyk's last fight, I reckon. However, you are correct on Bivol if this boxer to be a bigger name in light heavyweight division. But if Usyk's team and Bivol's team wants this superfight to become a reality, this will certainly be welcomed by the fans! If Bivol will lose, he can return to light heavyweight and challenge Benavidez or Beterbiev. If he will win, he will be one of the biggest names of boxing where Beterbiev and Benavidez will be chasing for his signature in the contract heheheh.

Fury always chooses some really underwhelming opponent for his tune up fights. This time is no different. He will earn a massive payday from fighting AJ, so there is no need to take unnecessary risks, but it’s still a disappointing choice.

I don’t know if Fury’s reality show is such a success that Netflix feels they have to keep paying for his lackluster fights. Perhaps the AJ fight will be such a massive success that they will make up for their financial losses.

There was a WBO lightweight title fight scheduled for Saturday, 4th July, between the youngest champion, Abdullah Mason (22 years old) and Welsh Joe Cordina (aged 34) but it's not going to happen.
Cordina was forced out of the fight as he was denied an entry Visa to the United States. This was likely due to the criminal charges Cardina faces over assault on one of Cardiff's petrol stations, which allegedly happened back in February.
Cordina is also charged with "threatening a person with an offensive weapon".
This must've been devastating news for Cordina, a former two-time IBF junior lightweight beltholder, who was meant to travel to the US this week.

Abdullah Mason will defend his belt tomorrow but not against Joe Cordina anymore but against Albert Bell who is the late replacement. Bell has a good record as well with 28 wins, 9 of that coming via knockout. The knockout tells us that Bell is not a knockout artist but for he is a dangerous opponent to a young Mason.

Below are some betting options on this fight, personally i would go for Mason via decision because i think that Bell could held his ground against Mason until the final bell.

And base on the odds it looks like Abdullah Mason is big favorite here. Although Bell is rank 6 by the WBO, but he rank higher by WBA at number 3. This division and also stack up as I have seen some familiar names including Fiipino Mark Magsayo.

Change my mind and i will go with you on this one mate, Mason via knockout. I remember some fights that the opponents were a replacement and that fighter struggled and even loss to the replacement fighter, i just hope that this wont happen to Mason tonight.

As for Cordina, i hope he can settle his issue and be permitted entry to the US again, if not his career might be in jeopardy as the big fights usually takes place in the US.

Mason did not have it easy, but he still got the knockout in the final round. Mason did what he had to do and came out strong in the 12th round where he dropped Bell twice. There is some controversy because it looked like the second knockdown was a result of a push. Bell was getting hurt, but that should not have been what caused the stoppage.

Mason should take this experience and learn from it. He is a young champion that still has room for improvement.

Buzzer beater mate, only watch the highlights of this fight and yeah it was not an easy win for the young Mason. In the commentators scorecards he was behind but on the judges scorecard he was way ahead on the 3 judges scorecards so even without the stoppage he would win this fight. He should learn from this experience and have to improve in his next fight and kudos to Bell for making this fight a competitive one despite a short notice.
