I would like to say happily that I won the yellow cap at the end of the second round. Everyone who has participated in the pool is doing a really great job. There have been very surprising results on the first two weeks of the African cup. Especially, Algeria's performance has been a big disappointment as they are one of the favourites of the title. But I think that they will qualify for the next stage.

So anybody got any points from Ivory Coast and Algeria matches? I expected those two "known" teams to have an easy way out of the group and then to decide who is first in the last game. As it stands one of them could be out of the tournament very soon. I think there are some 3rd placed teams going trough so maybe there is still time.

Fat chance for me. Day 1 I tried some upsets, but missed all. Day 2 I thought I got smarter, but nope, favourites/strong teams screwed me. Day 3 I'm probably just going to go for favourites again and try to hit exacts. This should be the time they go for broke, or so my flawed logic tells me.

So long as I get another Senegal win, I guess I should be happy to try recoup the 1 mbtc from the outright. Have to feel sorry about anyone taking Algeria... heh.

shit, there is a consensus within my friends to boycott AO, so I will skip betting on it (not that I approve boycott, but do not want to have bad karma)

regarding AFCON, Morocco is doing solid so far, and I will support them heading forward, and skip these small island nations on my parlays
with all said, Burkina Faso seems as good value today, Ethiopia is already on a road home

The Algerian team entered the competition with the goal of maintaining their dreadful 35-game unbeaten streak; I believe this has gotten into their heads, and they are underestimating their opponents. I'm hoping they're knocked out in the next game against the Ivorians since I have high hopes for them as the reigning champion. They are toothless, and I despise watching them dive for penalties.

Ghana may qualify as the worst losers because they are already three points behind Gabon, who are playing Morocco, who has already qualified for the next round. Morocco's coach may decide to rest some key players, giving Gabon a slight advantage and allowing them to at least draw.

In the second round, I stopped betting on my regular HT under, but the third round will be more profitable on under betting, as most teams only need a draw to advance, thus I'm expecting fewer goals in this final round.

So anybody got any points from Ivory Coast and Algeria matches? I expected those two "known" teams to have an easy way out of the group and then to decide who is first in the last game. Ivory Coast should be fine with making it to the next round, but Algeria are at a real risk of getting eliminated, it's win a burst for them in the last game, and it will be against Ivory Coast.


Today isn't any better in the pool, only two people scored in the fixtures, one person in each game, before checking I was expecting a few people to have gone for draw in the Cameroon vs Cape Verde match, given that Cameroon have qualified already.

Lol, I've never played esports, but I always get the impression that it's rigged in some way. I've looked into it a few times, but I don't know how it works, so I stick to football and tennis.

In addition, Cameroon and Burkina Faso have advanced to the next round of the competition, while Cape Verde is on the list of probable qualifiers as the worst losers. V. Aboubakar scored the tournament's 5th goal!!! A fantastic run from a 29-year-old man.

eSports are great, more and more money is getting pumped into them and I want to believe that there is no rigging in top divisions. Same like tennis, lower level is full of rigging games for sure. Bookies are still a bit behind on the odds so you can get good value. I got hooked to it during first covid lock down when most sports were on the break.

Morocco could play without any pressure today, and that is closer to goalless draw than 1:0 win to me, Gabon is not that bad and they need a point to secure their position 2
Ghana needs several goals against Comoros, to reach top4 within teams from position 3

You're welcome to beat me, I'm only 12th in the table. These tourneys are always tough to predict (UCL shows that, and we had pools in the last World Cup with similar seeming random outcomes) but if there's one thing I know from history, you never give up until QF/SF!

Well, if Algeria don't win today I didn't even get a single reward from the outright Promo, so it's the worst possible outcome for me. At least I hope to see them get a win today and progress, or it's game over for one of the biggest teams here.

But I guess if they get KO'd they deserve it too. Hate watching a tournament knowing your team has to win to make it worthwhile lol

Yes, you're almost there. I lost about 80% of  points in the second round, dropping from 5th to 11th place, proving that anything is possible in this pool until the finals. The Malawi-Senegal game will not be easy, as we all predicted in the pool. Both teams are looking for a point to improve their chances of qualifying, so I gave Malawi a 1(2:0) handicap to win the game. Hopefully, they don't give up more than they should.

So many unexpected outcomes, so a team being desperate for a win or not might really not matter in this tournament.

Senegal with another goalless draw, the only goal they have so far this tournament was the penalty from the opening match, even going through to the next round, I think they need to work a lot on their midfield and attack, else that might be the end of the road for them.

Ghana already losing to Comoros, it's barely 5 minutes into the game, and there is no team as desperate as the Ghanaians should be about this match, even if they will, they'll be needing either Gabon to lose or have to wait to see how the result of the games play out, maybe they'll finish as on the best third placed teams.

I just checked match results and all I can say is good thing I did not bet on those games I believe this is so far the worst round in the history of all pools run on bitcointalk. Way to go AFCON, show us how little we know. As it stands I am putting down 4:0 for Sudan and red card for Salah bet builder.

Damn, AFCON continue to amaze me every day. Good that I don't bet much on it. Yeah, maybe our knowledge about African football isn't amazing, but I think that anyon who have some common sense would predict Comoros beating Ghana
I can't imagine score from Wednesday game which would surprise me after all these things. Ok, maybe I would raise an eybrow if Sudan will beat Egypt 4:0 or 5:0.

I think our performance wouldn't be so bad even if we would participate in rugby or cricket pools .
