Yeah, I really couldn't have said it any better. Nigeria could have gone up by more goal tbh. It as though Under 2.5 is the best bet for this tournament regardless the teams playing

I watched the game for about 45 minutes or thereabout and I don't think the stats were really as convincing as the way it all happened, most of the attempts on goal while I watched were poor and it wasn't as dominative as the stats would have it.

What a performance front the Super Eagles so far, they've had Egypt defending very deep and their biggest threat Salah being kept at bay, Moses Simon have been the best Nigerian player so far in the game, he's been superb in attack causing at lot of problems for Egypt on the left flank.

Nigeria performed well in yesterday match than Egypt which their coach have a lot of work to do to make his team go far in this tournament. Yes, Moses Simon really performed well for supper eagles in yesterday game that gave Nigeria victory. All their players were well organized in yesterday match that gave Salah not to perform well in the match. Many viewers thought Salah was not in yesterday match because of the way supper eagles was dominated through out the match.

Is there no additional time in AFCON? I just watched parts of the Mali game while driving. There were 2 penalties, red card, numerous VAR checks, 9 substitutions and no additional time. I mean WTF? Are the rules there different? This would be at least 5 minutes of additional time in Europe and probably 7. Result was 1:0 and Mali had red card so it was all to play for. I understand when ref blows the whistle in the 90th minute when result is like 8:0 but this?

At least my theory of only possible results being 0:0, 0:1 and 1:0 still stands even though I picked wrong one for this game.

I have actually seen that but since i was driving and not giving it a lot of attention I thought I have seen it wrong. I guess the ref really had to be somewhere so he tried to end it early and then when it did not pass he managed to last almost till the end

Yeah, this was something.. really unseen, to put it gently
First we had that incident and a bit later Mauritania - Gambia game was postponed for almost an hour because it was put on the same stadium as the Tunisia - Mali game. To add a cherry on top, they played the Mauritania national anthem incorrectly 3 times in a row, after which the announcer gave up (I kid you not) and asked the players to sing without the playback.

I mean - I understand that they want us to take the African Cup seriously. But.. how do we do that after all this? And the football is crap as well.

It really was eyesore and hell of a shitshow today to be honest. A big shame at world level and I also read that even the Referee in charge of the Tunisia's game had at some point officiated at World Cup knockout game.

Ha, got correct one on Ivory Coast, it is just matter of predicting which team will score that one goal at this tournament. I lost some bets in the beginning but now I just place them under 1.5 goals and bank keeps growing. Will be fun to see how long this will last. Did not watch Ivory Coast game since Barca - Real played at the same time but from the stats it seems it was another game without much goal opportunities.

Level of AFCON organization is beyond ridiculous. End game on 85th minute, then end it again without adding any extra time, despite 9 substitutions and VAR review. Damn. I don't even talk about two questionable penalties and random red card. I'm not surprised to read that in 2018 this referee was suspended for corruption.
And games of AFCON don't give much joy so far. Another day of classic 1:0 results.

Under 1.5 goal HT is the most profitable bet, as it has good odds.

Where are you playing that and under witch odds? I checked games today and most I can get is @1.2 and often it is even 1.15 for under 1.5 goals in first half.

I am much rather playing under 1.5 for the whole game, or 0:0 first half, those are what I consider good odds, over 2 and usually even close to 2.2. Just need to get half of them correct to be in the profit.

Accumulating all the games usually come to a 2.05 or 2.2 since I'm betting on low till the second round but you  there's always a 1.50+ for U1.5 goal HT when a North Africa teams are playing Western Africa teams.

Not the AFCON we all expected, but there are some things to know: Cameroon has been in the midst of a civil conflict for some time, and the tournament is being held outside of the rebel states. This, I believe, is why most of the games are played in empty stadiums. Without a doubt, this is one of the least interesting AFCONs I've seen since 2002, but the games will start to take shape in the quarterfinals..

Janny Sikazwe has been a contentious referee for the past year. He was suspended by CAF in 2018 after being accused of match fixing in one of the CAF champions league games, but the suspension was lifted in 2019. He should be drug tested because something is wrong somewhere.

And what a lot of incidents. Is this played up by the media or is this really bad organization? Because I've heard many mistakes at region games in my own home. Anthems played wrong. Flags given wrong. Names spelt wrong. Matches delayed. So those are normal in my mind on every big game especially.

I'm aware that the vuvuzela has been banned from international games due to the noise it makes during games, since there have been multiple instances where referee whistles have been rendered ineffective due to vuvuzela noise.

Thanks for the info. That sound weird as in South Africa they still bring it to the games. I think flares and drums and loud megaphones are also noisy but I like to hear them. I guess if everyone blew the horn at the same time it would be noisy but anyway, they are banned so no use to wish for it back

I actually love their playing style, both of the fixtures so far are no doubt the two most entertaining matches so far.

we should see more attacking football since a lot of teams will be on the verge of elimination if they lose another game/drop more points, plus some teams gotta start scoring some goals since goal difference is crucial in the group stage, especially if they wanna get that 3rd place spot... I went with some safe picks (2-0, 1-0), but i might change a few

Algeria at least played something and they were unlucky not to score some goals. I still expect them to pass the group and get more dangerous as the tournament progress. Egypt looked awful and I am not even sure they can claw their way out of the group stage.

We started getting some goals yesterday, now I am torn between keeping to 1:0 scores or getting back to normal
