Yep, Superbru takes into account result after extra time in knockout stages. A bit strange until you get used to it. Suppose it is the same for AFCON, can't find it now, but it is stated somewhere on the site. It was like that for Champions League, EURO, COPA.... so I am 99% sure it is here as well.

I think we might already be seeing the game of the tournament so far today (Ivory Coast/Egypt) but Morocco Senegal is hopefully going to be good too... as well as the winners of those later on.

Superbru counts the end of extra time so it's a draw if there are penalties, so yes, worth making some thoughts on this too if you think the teams could go into ET.

Your pick will be scored at the end of regular time or the end of extra time if the match is drawn after regular time. If a match goes to penalties it will be scored as a draw.

Turned out to be another goalless draw, I had thoughts of placing both fixtures Under 1.5 goals each, now I wish I did.

I'll be ending the week as joint worse player of the round, with just 4 points in this round... What a shit round for me

Now the QF began. Im the only who trust Guinea over Mali but unfortunately not sum a point because they win in the penaltys(in superbru im talking).

For the QF and for what we see this its gonna be so close for all the matchs.

If you were a manager or a teammate, what would you do to Bailly after that penalty? Have a look if you didn't see it, it was a no-look jump attempt - in a knockout shootout.
I would have challenged him even if he scored, he missed though - and Ivory Coast lost the game.

I was smarter this time around and tuned in on both matches just before penalties. There was a couple of strange decisions there, I guess players just have the need to do something to stand out. When it works, everything is peachy, when it does not, well Ivory Coast goes home.

We had one step penalty - missed, panenka - scored, all kinds of funny runs with small steps and what not with mixed results.

Remember when Ballotelli tried a no look backheel when he was at City and what happened to him after that? Benched. He just needs to be benched, and that's it, nothing more. Even if he would have pulled it off, you simply don't do that at any level of football. There's actually to me not such a fine line between showmanship and foolishness as some players like to think. There's simply no argument on how that kind of attempt could ever gain anything for your team other than to show you disrespect a lesser opponent -- and he's forced his team to pay the price for that.

Anyway, I'm not going to throw more scorn on this tourney. The actions of a few always seem to take the spotlight.

I knew he was going to miss it the moment he stood like he was on top of the world; I have no idea what he was thinking; this is a national award, and everyone was expecting the best, and all he did was gamble. How do you stand an inch away from the ball like that?.

Both games I watched yesterday were excellent; there were some dull times, but the attacking force in the Ivory Coast - Egypt game in the second half was insane. Prior to his injury, Egypt's goalkeeper made some outstanding saves to keep his team in the game.

Only bets I am making are under goals, only bets that worked for me so far. Everything else I tried ended as failure. So I am betting on boring in AFCON and watching Handball or Futsal championships instead.

I am just sad I did not go for 0:0 draws in our pool. Always though to pick when you know that result has to last 120 minutes.

Agree with Trofo, 0-0 was at least 10/1 on both games with superboost even it was 14/1 I saw for Egypt. At least even watching in the first half I should have thought to take it. igehhh was right though, Egypt keeper kept his team in the game, there WERE quality shots coming in from outside the box but overall, those were just pot shots and as a team, neither side could fashion good chances.

Salah was probably let down a lot by poor finishing or decision making from the strike force, he may not look good playing but he generally took every ball well on that pitch.

Hate to say this guys but last night I watched Conmebol (Brazil) and just the first half alone reminded me again what fast, attacking, purposeful, determined football looked like. I think even Ecuador playing in Afcon, if they showed half of what they did last night, would win every game (although probably the ref would red card 4 or 5 of them by half time). I'm a huge Afcon supporter honestly but for some reason this edition just insisted to show us the worst that they were possible.

it is a bit off-topic, but yeah Ecuador showed full strength with ten men on the field
needed few good passes more from Plata to get money on Sorare as well, but he played great, and found Torres from a corner spot for a goal

and yeah, they would win this AFCON with last night play, but they will obviously have their chance to show strength in Qatar, which is a great success for Ecuador, considering South American competition

I knew Cameroon were going to win tonight, but didn't expect Gambia should be so submissive in all aspect of the match. They were dominated for the entirety of the game, unlike in their previous games, but I can as well say that's the effect of playing against Cameroon.


Tunisia vs Burkina Faso is up next, I think this would be a really close one, and I have a bet for Under 1.5 goals.

I was about to say this match is best attacking one I've seen so far in this tournament and I'm surprised it's still goalless, but on the stroke of halftime Burkina Faso took a well deserved lead with that stunning counter attack.

Burkina Faso should have scored more to be honest, and finally we'll see an attacking Tunisia side in the second half. I hope they get a potion of their own po*son.
