Despite Mane's absence, Senegal still have performed quite impressively. They had even more goal attempts than Netherlands and having a 44% ball possession is also quite decent in a game like this. Congratulations to Netherlands for their win 2:0 against Senegal, though I must admit that Senegal really pushed hard to try to see if they could score, but the goalkeeper guy on the side of Netherlands is really good at what he does, he helped save his team from conceding two goals from Senegal.

The first goal was miscalculation but the second goal he did his best. Experience played a key in the second half. I really feel sorry for Senegal and most especially Mendy. I would have been happy if Senegal had won today because they fought well in the match but I think they could not score points from the match today due to simple mistakes of goalkeeper Edouard Mendy. So far the favorite teams to win the group, they got the results as expected, such as England who won big and also the Netherlands who were still able to win the match even though new goals were scored towards the end of the match. But with that, at least I personally am still very confident that the favorite teams will still get victory in their first match.

Senegal can actually still match the game from the Netherlands but seeing the current conditions on their front line it is actually very difficult too because Mane's role is felt even though their game in the midfield is good but when there is no more breaking power it is still a little difficult.

Apart from this result, I think Senegal can play well. Being able to withstand the Dutch attack for up to 80 minutes was extraordinary. But maybe Senegal was unlucky and had to concede 2 goals in the remaining minutes of the game ending. From this match we know that Senegal should be reckoned with in group stage A. Senegal's next opponent will be hosts Qatar, this is a match worth waiting for, considering that the hosts have yet to get a point and Senegal must fight harder to get points behind the Netherlands.

A balanced game played by the Netherlands and Senegal, they are equally capable of performing well in this match. I highlight the efforts made by Senegal, especially in launching a counter-attack. They were always late in making the transition from defense to attack, as a result they were unable to capitalize on the void in the Dutch back line and the Dutch were able to quickly close their gap. The Netherlands was able to beat Senegal 2-0, to be honest they (Senegal) deserved to get 1 point from this match. But the goal from the Netherlands dashed their hopes of being able to achieve it. Cody Gakpo broke the Dutch egg and Davy Klaassen became the player who managed to lock the victory over the Netherlands.

Senegal were close to getting one point from the match, and they would have gotten it if not for the mistakes from their goalkeeper, it was 0-0 until the 84th minute, meaning they were close to achieving one point, and that would have been very crucial for them if they are going to qualify from group A, there are two matches left, and they will probably qualify if they win the two of them. The Senegalese coach Aliou Cisse has a big decision to make in their next games, whether to drop Mendy or not, he has lost his form and that is why Graham Potter has dropped him for Chelsea, i want to see if Aliou Cisse would do that too for the duration of this world cup.
