Most of the games will be competitive. The Qatar vs Senegal match will be do or die for both the teams, as both have lost their opening match. Wales vs Iran is another interesting match. Wales is playing in the world cup after a long interval of 64 years!! Their first match ended in a draw against the United States. So today is their best chance to score a victory, after a gap of more than 6 decades. The Netherlands vs Ecuador match will decide who is going to top Group A. The only match that is not interesting for me is the one between England and the US.

Portugal had to fight hard to beat Ghana, the opening goal was born from the penalty spot which was executed perfectly by Ronaldo. Portugal managed to end the game with a 3-2 winning score. Anyone will admit that Ronaldo played well against Ghana. He played in high spirits even though he had just parted ways with Manchester United, if the referee didn't award a penalty to Portugal, Ronaldo couldn't score in this game.

Nothing lasts forever and I am against focusing on single persons, regardless of their fame. It was not an easy game for Portugal and we see that many teams plays much better against 'giants' than we may expect (Ghana, Japan or SA, or even Canada). Seeing Portugal like they played yesterday, I do not think there is a big future for them in this World Cup. And of course Ronaldo is a good player, but you cannot be blind, he is different than he was 10 or 20 years ago, on his first World Cups (at least he scored a penalty goal, not like Lewandowski).
Next game they play with Uruguay, 4 years ago, in Sochi, Portugal lost 2:1.

Portugal played well against Ghana, but we will see later when Portugal vs Uruguay. after all, Ghana is not an equal opponent and we can review it in the first half. Ghana really struggled to build attacks, they didn't even have a single chance to threaten in Portugal's defense area. on the other hand, Ghana's defense was really tight and disciplined, they were able to last up to 65 minutes in the second half. sadly, the Ghanaian defender made a mistake.

IMO, the strategy pattern applied by Fernando Santos is quite effective. unfortunately, he always made Ronaldo a Target Man.  every attack Portugal has built, they are always looking for Ronaldo to convert opportunities into goals. Unfortunately, Ronaldo is not as sharp as he used to be. until the second round rolled on, in the end Santos changed his formation pattern and Portugal won the battle.

note : we can see that age comes to us all, Ronaldo really struggled to score goals. again, he was only able to score a goal from the penalty spot.

I could not enjoy the game of Brazil vs Serbia. But in this match, I thought that Brazil would win by 2 goals. But I could not enjoy the game after half time. But in this match, Serbia did not score any goals, Brazil won in this match.  Player Richarlison scored two goals alone to win the team.

Serbia can do nothing against brazil and it can be seen from the zero shoot has been made by serbia unlike brazil which has been making 8 shoots in total. that proves that if serbia can't even become equal with brazil in term of attack and defense. Serbia is still far from brazil and it's not a worthy opponent for sure. Brazil must face a better team with better strategy than serbia to make sure if its performance is still on a good performance. Brazil feel so comfidence to playing football without even worry for serbia to make a goal caused by serbia has no capability for that.
Crazil was winning easily without any tough game but i do agree the first half was pretty boring for me.

for me, in terms of drama and excitement, the games that caused the most emotion on matchday 1 were argentina vs. saudi arabia (1-2), belgium vs. canada (1-0) and yesterday's game between portugal vs. ghana (3-2)

Yes, Iran tried desperately to fight in the first half and even managed to score a goal, but unfortunately from offside the goal didn't count. I too think Wales will show strength in the second half and win this match. I think Wales play no worse than England who had no problem beating Iran. Wales need to win to get out of the group.

The match today Qatar vs. Senegal is KO Game. This Team were lost the game is out of the World Cup. Both teams are without a point so far and Qatar have not shot on the goal in the first game.... unbelievable. In the group A you can't go in the next round with only 3 points, so if Qatar loses today, then the host is out as first. The 3th matchday on 29.11. From all indication Germany will find it tougher and their chance of qualifying for the next round is very slim. Germany can't withstand Spain if the will get any point from the group stage it will be against Costa Rica and by then Japan should be 6 points ahead as the are the favourite to win against Costa Rica. Germany just has to warm up for their exit from the world cup and prepare for 2026

Iran kept on to a very high pace. The first half draw showed a very strong hunger by Iran to recover from their strong defeat from England in the first match. But Wales seems to have a better possession of the game it might end in another loss for Iran in the second half.

Very disappointing match for the Welsh fans so far. I desperately want Gareth Bale's team to win a match in the world cup, but Iranian defense is putting up very stiff resistance. Wales has more than 2/3rd ball possession till now, but so far they have been unable to breach the Iranian defenses. We are well in to the second half and both the teams haven't scored a goal till now. If Iran loses today, then they are out of the world cup. For Wales, whether they will progress to the PQF stage or not will depend upon the outcome of their match against England.

Brazil and portugal were strong team and im not feeling doubt if both can win easily in the first round. The next match that will be faced by saudi arabia will be very interesting match against polandia. Polandia was getting draw against meksiko. The big surprise may come again very soon. I personally thin if saudi arabia may get a tough game against polandia. Meksiko and polandia are equal but it seems like that real performance from saudi arabia will be tested when it will be facing polandia and meksiko.
Argentina needs to win against meksiko to make sure if it will have a chance to go to the next stage. If argentina will be loosing again and it may not have a chance to go to the next stage.

Qatar were never going to qualify, i feel they may even be eliminated with no points and no goals. Senegal are a strong team, and they deserved at least a point in their first game against Netherlands, they held on for a very long time, until the 84th minute, and then they lost it all and conceded two goals. I expect Senegal to correct their mistakes and beat Qatar today, that will leave them on three points, and if Netherlands beat Ecuador later today, then the final group game between Ecuador and Senegal will be a deciding game, the match that will decide who will join Netherlands in the quarter final. But a lot of things can happen differently, but on paper it is expected to play out like this.
