I watched the match between Portugal and Uruguay, this match is really worth watching because the game of the two teams was very good in terms of defense, even though in the second half Bruno Fernandez scored a goal to make the Uruguay team lose. I was already excited to see Edison Cavani join Luis Suarez at that time the attacks continued to pound the Portuguese defense but the attackers could not penetrate the defense carried out by Pepe and friends. Now it's just a matter of waiting against South Korea and South Korea must lose to Portugal or draw, and Uruguay must also win against Ghana because Uruguay must win this match if they want to qualify for the last 16, I bet on the Uruguay team.

Portugal and uruguay game was entertaining to say the least the first half was tight not much goal chances but in the second half portugal team took the initiative early and scored the first goal unlucky for uruguay they couldn't equalize despite the chances they had and then portugal scored the second one with a penalty and secured the points, portugal is officially on the next stage and urugway team is in a tough spot they need to win the last game in order to qualify.

I really enjoyed the Portugal vs Uruguay game.

The only issue that I had with it was the use of VAR again. I mean, that was an accidental hand to be honest, the referee and everyone saw it and continued to play. Then when watching in slow motion it might look different, but where can the player put his hand as he was falling?, a bit absurd to get a penalty like that.

And that was the end of the game really, after that penalty there was nothing for Uruguay to do.

Not a big fan of the overuse of VAR in this tournament to be honest...

regardless of the result, I think the use of VAR in this World Cup is better than the use of VAR in the Champions League. some people who agree with the use of this technology may be amused. but for those who feel aggrieved, of course, the use of this technology is very disturbing. we saw it in Argentina's first game, we know how the fans feel. but there will still be controversy after this event is over.

I agree it is better than in Champions League but you should know there is one supplemental technology is used in World Cup. It's Semi-automated offside technology which is used the first time.

I believe that the new technology is helpful for VAR referee team and the main referee to make their decisions more precisely. More decisions are made with support from technology, less mistakes and regret occur in matches but it has a drawback which reduce emotion on field. I really miss the time with strict and precise referees like Collina. Nowadays, with technological supports, matches can be halted too long for VAR checking after complains and requirement from players. That is harmful for soccer beauty.

It was really a bad day for the Uruguayan team because they deserve at least a point in this match. They played quality football and attacked the Portuguese team aggressively. Their defense was solid until that tricky free kick from Bruno Fernandez broke the deadlock. The second goal from that penalty gave Portugal the wining but I think that hand ball was not intentional. But one good thing about the Uruguayan team was that they fought till the end.

Portugal are now through to the next round while Ghana have a better chance of qualifying but Uruguay and South Korea still has opportunity to also go to the next round. The march between Ghana and Uruguay would be a battleground because the team we say against Portugal would not give Ghana a free pass to the next round. The Ghanaian team would have to work more on their defense to be able to stop the coordinated attacking force of the Uruguay team.

indeed Qatar is not as lucky as Saudi Arabia but in the last match this time Qatar and the Netherlands the match will be exciting because Qatar wants to win the final game even though it is very unlikely to qualify but Qatar wants to present Victory for Qatari citizens themselves as hosts, even though it is very unlikely to win but at least can hold not to concede

I don't know whether we can call Saudi Arabia as "lucky". They were placed in one of the toughest groups this time, alongside Argentina, Mexico and Poland. Qatar on the other hand was placed in a relatively easy group with Ecuador, Senegal and Netherlands. To their credit, they managed to score one goal against Senegal, although they lost that match. Playing in the world cup itself is such an achievement and Qatar should be happy about it. Now I don't know whether they will get any points against Netherlands. If they do, then even better.

I don’t think Qatar have any point to prove against Netherland. After their 3-1 defeat to Senegal, coupled with Holland's 1-1 draw with Ecuador, it was evident enough that Qatar became the first side dumped out of the competition, with zero points and just one goal from their opening two games. Their match against Netherland is a work over for the Netherlands, because I don’t see Qatar posting any threat.

I was looking at results of the poll. It is just crazy that Germany has more votes when compared to Brazil. How can anyone vote for Germany, after their pathetic loss against Japan in the first match? Spain and Portugal are with 17 and 16 votes respectively, but France only has 2 votes till now. Overall, I am not very excited about the UEFA teams, but at least I know that France has better chances when compared to Portugal. France is a balanced team (despite the absence of Benzema and Pogba), when compared to Portugal.

I really believe Uruguay deserved more than a 2 - 0 defeat against Portugal, maybe a one goal difference or even a draw.

The thing is that when the penalty was given after the VAR, then there was little to be done by Uruguay.

And of course, Portugal took the opportunity and ran with it.

I thought today's match would result in a goalless draw, when Vinicius' goal was ruled offside.  But the entire outcome of the game went in the opposite direction when Cashomiro's goal in the 83rd minute.  After the victory in today's match Brazil confirmed the 16 and as the 2nd team after France confirmed the 16.

I was very worried when I first saw this match. I thought neither team would score. However, Brazil scored a goal to win the match. After Brazil scored a goal, Switzerland kept trying until the end of the game to score.  But as he could not score any goals, Brazil won the match.

The match between these two teams Netherlands vs Qatar will start. Among these two teams, Netherlands is the strong team. So far, Qatar has played two matches and Qatar has lost two of them. I think Qatar is the weakest team among all the teams in the FIFA World Cup.  .Netherlands won one match and drew the other match. Netherlands now has 4 points.

This is probably going to be the last world cup match for Qatar in some time, as they are out of contention for the next round (two defeats from two matches). So my guess is that they will perform their level best today. Netherlands looked shaky so far, and conceded a draw against Ecuador in their second match. The top 3 teams (Ecuador, Netherlands and Senegal) are all in contention for the PQF spot. Which of these teams will actually qualify, will depend on the outcome of the remaining two matches (Netherlands vs Qatar, Senegal vs Ecuador).

I think the pool is created before the World cup started right? actually German is similar like Belgium where the star players already old and their performance already declining, but people still think it doesn't really affect their performance. Portugal only lack of midfielder, the defenders and strikers are good enough to compete against the other clubs. German last match is against Costa Rica, I think it's 50/50 since even though Costa Rica is weaker than German, but they only need to draw or win to qualify for the next round. While German must win in this match or they will go home.

Not sure if Brazil really deserved the 3 points, but on the other hand they also got one goal disallowed by VAR, so there's that as well.

The match later ended up for the favour of Portugal 2-0, because many people thought Uruguay will maintain that first half draw 0-0 till the end of the match. Portugal coach need to work on their midfielders and strikers very well before their next match for them not to receive a surprise defeat from their opponent, because they really missed many opportunities in this match despite they won the match to embraced points. I think, Uruguay coach need to introduce new strategies to the team that will make them to perform more than this in their next match, so that they will be able to achieve victory that will make them to qualify for the next stage.

Last match in group A and Ecuador in the comfortable position now and draw result is enough for them to qualified and the opposite from Senegal that they have to win from Ecuador today if want to qualified and Ecuador has strong defense even in this tournament Netherlands cannot able to wins from them so i think they can beat Senegal today or at least draw and regarding betting options i will used Ecuador habit that they were often to ended the matches will lack of goals and rare to see them won with big scores and today also not so different that's why i am thinking to bet under 2.5 goals for this match

When we look at the score of the match, we can think that Portugal got a easy win. But don't let the score fool you. Both teams struggled equally. Both teams had balls that bounced off the post. The only difference is that Uruguay did not succeed in scoring goals.

If I'm going to talk about Ronaldo; he tried to put all his influence on the match again. He does that every time he goes on the match. But even though he didn't score the goal himself, I couldn't understand him being happy as if he had scored. After the goal, he could have pointed to Fernandes and celebrated whoever scored the goal. I think he felt that he touched the ball in the excitement of the match and thought that he scored the goal himself.

When we watch the repetition of the position, we see it clearly in the close-up of the camera.

Uruguay is in deep trouble, not only they need to win their match against Ghana, when they have yet to score a single goal during the world cup, but they also need Portugal to beat or draw with South Korea, under normal circumstances that would not be a problem but Portugal has basically secured not only their advancement to the next round but also it is very difficult they could lose the first spot of their group even if they lost the match, so I doubt players like Ronaldo will play the game against South Korea, giving them an opportunity to win and leave Uruguay out of the next round.

Indeed, several times Uruguay has often threatened the Portuguese defense, but always failed because of the very good performance of goalkeeper Diogo Costa, yes, even though we know in the previous match he almost made a blunder in the final minutes of the match against Ghana. Switzerland had proven to be a very tough opponent for Brazil over the years now. And couple with Neymar's absence, Brazil were looking a little uninspired most of the way against Switzerland. Both teams created chances but Brazil would always have the upper hand as they’re more of a complete team than Switzerland. I’m looking forward to Serbia vs Switzerland, a win draw for will take them to the next round.

Qatar is a weak opponent for the Netherlands, L Van Gaal will not waste the opportunity to enter the knockout stages as Group winner. The quality of the Dutch and Qatari players is very much different, the last match in the Group stage was very easy for the Netherlands. Qatar, which played very badly in the previous two matches, can be used as a three point target for the Netherlands as well as making Qatar eliminated from the World Cup as a team that was unable to get 0 points. It is very embarrassing for Qatar to be eliminated by swallowing three defeats considering Qatar status as host at the 2022 World Cup.
