argentina players can play comfortably because mentally croatia players have lost. so croatia really played badly in this match. This is not the usual Croatian game. while argentina is now focusing on defense and of course making it more difficult for croatia to get good opportunities to score goals. and now it's in extra time and indeed miracles are not likely to happen. I congratulate Argentina.

Croatia is indeed more focused on attacking in this match, but when there is a counterattack, they immediately panic. but indeed the Argentine players looked much calmer and more confident because in the first half they were already 2-0 up. once again messi and the rest of the argentina squad showed that they are one of the best teams in the world. it's just a matter of waiting for the opponent from Argentina, whether it's France or Morocco in the final.

Argentina would be playing at the Lusail Iconic Stadium on Sunday in the world cup final, for the second time in only eight years.
This would be a storied game, with so much hanging in the balance should the Albicelestes win in five days time against any of Morocco or France.
Messi could very well be playing his last world cup (definitely his last in too form) and would want nothing less than to lift the famous, golden trophy.

Big game tomorrow, and as much as I would want Morocco to become the first African team in the world cup final, I fear that France might be too strong. Hopefully, the Atlas Lions would keep roaring.

I was not expecting Croatia to score some goals, even one goal against Argentina. But I was expecting them to stop Argentina from scoring I was looking forward for a goalless full-time draw so that they will head into penalty shootout because I know Croatia is good at defending but I was very disappointed when I saw them attacking and wanting to score Argentina even in the first half.
It was quite unfortunate to for them because Argentina was able to get two goals in the first half which will make it impossible for any team to equalise in that stage of the competition.

I have mentioned Argentina as the majority for the match against Croatia, while Croatia is a minority in my previous post. I have reason to say it and maybe the Croatian people will admit it because of the quality of their players at the moment.

Argentina have learned a lot since the defeat to Saudi Arabia and the quarter-final against the Netherlands. Those two games really got Argentina in trouble so they really used that as a lesson why today they can't afford to make too many mistakes. This semi-final is very different to the quarter-final because a lot of emotion was involved against the Netherlands, but today it all came into play. Messi is spectacular, he is really hard to stop when he assisted Alvarez for Argentina's last goal of the match. Congratulations to Argentina, and now they're looking forward to a great final.

Finally with the 3rd goal the whole thing kinda just stopped, both teams were playing at a somewhat reduced level, kinda waiting for it to end a bit.

During the second half Alvarez once again made a goal,

Three things I observed from the game today are;

 First is that Messi and Alvarez link up well in play, they have good understanding of their positioning. Alvarez is a very talented player and Manchester City are very lucky to have him. Secondly is that Messi didn't involve himself defending and was not trying too hard to double back and win tackles like I noticed he has been doing in some games in this world cup, his main duty in the team is to push attack, create chances, or score for the team. The other players know his job and take up well the extra load of trying to defend well knowing they are a man less defending.

In the last goal, Messi was able to beat the defender with his experience. Finding a way through the side, he shifted the ball to his right leg and used his left leg and his body to shield the ball and ensured that the young Croatian defender with him could not get to the ball till he found Alvarez, very brilliant assist.

It was a crazy match but Argentina's win was already decided with first penalty goal scored by LM10. This first goal have shaken Croatia's whole confidence to carry out the rest of the match.
Now one more game left to decide who will play the final against Argentina.
My bet is on Morocco. They are playing very good. So will Messi be able to lift the trophy? Or he will remain the unlucky person in football worldcup history.

The second goal of the match is infallible proof that the Lionel Scaloni side has a down pat of the Croatian's exit strategy right from their win against Brazil. It may have not been easy for Argentina to win against brazil, but Brazil's loss against Croatia created a good school of thought for Argentina to secure their next winning.
But Since it was a game, one wouldn't say that Argentina is already head and shoulder above, until J. Alvarez registered the third goal in the 69th minute.

A disappointing day, where the semifinals of the world cup did not look attractive. Argentina's three goals without reply from Croatia. Croatian players seem to have no mentality against Argentine players. Croatia's back line played very badly, even the front line seemed to have lost the target to score. After the ball is over the front, they do not shoot. Two corner kicks were also not put to good use, without giving the ball straight into the penalty box.

Two goals from J. Alvarez did not seem to get guard from defenders. The Croatian defender couldn't stop J. Alvarez from moving. One goal and one assist for messi in today's match. Messi is one step away from lifting the world cup trophy.

We had possession but we didn't really have any chances. Argentina was smart, they gave us the ball and focused on the counterattacks which cost us the game.

But after the penalty things started to change.

I am maybe biased since I am Croatian, but I don't really think that was a penalty. Alvarez ran into Livakovic, there was nothing he could do really. But I agree that goal shook us way more than it should have as up until then Argentina didn't create nothing really.

All in all, Argentina was better (and smarter) team tonight, no question about it. You can only reach so far without a quality striker, so far us even semifinal is a success. I just hope our team can recover from this loss (Modric was extremely disappointed) and prepate for Saturday and game for the 3rd spot so we can at least repeat the success from 1998.

Never mind, we all have to admit that Argentina is a better team than Croatia after watching this game. Maybe some pre-match hesitation is understandable as Croatia had the luck and success to reach the semi-finals, but in the end Argentina showed their quality.

I had expected an Argentina win, but as the semi-finals were expected to be tight the game was really hard to predict before kickoff. In my mind the penalty changed the course of the whole game.

Not necessarily, not a rational thought because Croatia previous history of goal records was able to equal the score against Brazil and Japan so they could face a penalty match, but this match they were really unlucky and had to lose with an embarrassing score, Croatia's statistics did not dominate the goal attack to shot on target and Argentina had been in control in the match. Btw, my previous prediction was not wrong that Argentina would advance to the finals.

I think that the Croatian team that played against the Argentine team today had something missing in them. I do not know if they played out of fear or they came with a defeatist mindset because what I watched from the Croatian team play was beyond pathetic. I think that in this match it was quite the opposite of the matches of Croatia before. While they were pretty lucky in the match against Brazil and it was kinda undeserved that Croatia advanced into the semi final, i think that today the croatian team was very unlucky. For me they were the better team in the first 30 minutes today and the goals of Argentina came pretty much out of nowhere. Of course with 2 goals for Argentina scored withing only a few minutes it was almost already over at that point for Croatia. Even though they were the better team up to that point. After that Argentina played it very smart and in the end they deserve to be in the final.

Congratulations to Argentina, this team really deserves to be in the final despite the unfavorable issues following the chaos that occurred against the Netherlands. I saw Messi so happy even before the game was over, that was after Argentina led 3-0 over Croatia.

I agree that Argentina's victory was not absolute luck. The players are fighting to play something good and score goals. Argentina proved really great, they managed to get their revenge when 2018 Croatia beat them by the same score.
