Croatia played better and placed 3rd. Morocco conceded an early goal again, but they got over the shock quickly. After scoring with Dari, they balanced the match again. But at the end of the first half, Croatia regained control of the match when Orsic scored. They set the pace in the second half. Morocco had a few opportunities but didn't use them well.
A lot of people see the third place game as unnecessary, but I think finishing third is also important. Instead of saying we were eliminated in the semi-finals, they can proudly say that we came in 3rd place.

Congrats to Croatia, they really performed well today and they really deserved the bronze medal, the two countries performed well but unfortunately Morroco couldn't secure the third position, but to be honest I wanted Morroco to secure the third position because they haven't gotten to this level before and no Africa country have gotten to this stage before, I wanted Morroco to win but unfortunately they couldn't. Am really happy for Croatia congrat to them once again and I hope other African countries will perform well in the next world cup.

Croatia are one of the best country with good football performance. It's really a tough time for them as they fought for their place in the world but couldn't secure their position in the finals. They were in the finals in 2018 world cup and they did their best to reach the semi-finals now they sealed their third place position from Morocco. I'm so sad that Morocco are going home with nothing after an incredible performance in the world cup. They did deserve something but I guess it's not yet their time.

Before that, I would like to congratulate Croatia for winning 3rd place at the 2022 Qatar World Cup. And I also appreciate the struggle from Morocco, even though they lost in the bronze match, their struggle was extraordinary. This is not a failure, but this is the beginning of the achievements they will get in the future.
Yes, today Croatia really deserved to win this match, it looks like they are more prepared than Morocco and they are playing calmer in my opinion.
It doesn't feel like we will be at the end of the biggest football competition in the world, France vs Argentina will be the last match we will see.

Yes, Morocco played pretty well in the second half where they were able to build a good attack but they couldn't score a single goal to equalize. croatia did well in this match they pressed from the first half, as I said earlier this match will be won by the team who goal first and it really came true. Luka Modric returned to present the 3rd place trophy for the Croatian people. He is truly a quite fantastic footballer with the skills he has and the best captain Croatia has ever had. but she is getting old and this is an interesting farewell for her.

Morocco seems to be the object object everyone's discussion and that's because, they were giving us the thrills we needed and I can't imagine anyone to have not hoped for more surprises from this African side but, Croatia qas were the journey did end for Morocco. I'll say, they approached this Croatian side more softly, they didn't find them to be as threatening a team as France and so, they didn't play half the game they played when they faced France. They ought to have played this match as though it was a finals and every match after the round of 16.

Which the game for the third place is over, I'll say, Morocco have done quite well for Africa and Africans. They've set another high for African football that, it doenst ends at the round of 16 or quarter finals and with proper team work, they could star there competitions. A proud moment for Africans still and Congratulations for Croatia in getting a medal in two consecutive world cups.

The fairy tale for Morocco has finally come to an end. They were finally beaten by their group stage counterpart Croatia by 2:1 . I had the opportunity to watch the game and I wonder how Morocco reached where they did in the World Cup.

I couldn’t really place the strength of the team because they seem to be average in many positions of the game, especially in the defense they were very poor. I don’t want to take anything away from what they have done so far but they had little luck I guess.

It was actually closer than I thought.  Croatia is built to break down the defense of a team like Morocco.  Was thinking they were gonna win by 2 or 3 goals.  Overall good showing by both teams throughout the entire world cup well done.

Morocco strategy was defensive throughout the World Cup. It worked till quarter finals but not against teams like Frace and Croatia. Morocco will take with them lots of experience which will definitely help them in improving performance in upcoming matches. Morocco also has given a message to all Africans teams that we too can compete and win fifa worldcup.

Morocco deserve an accolade for making Africa proud, reaching a pedestrian that no African country has been able to get to in the history of world cup tournaments. Even though Morocco never clinge a third place against Croatia it doesn't change the fact that they have written their name in marble. At this stage of the world cup we have always had only the likes of South American and European countries but just like you rightly said, Morocco has open a centre stage for other African countries to aim at winning the world cup next time and not just as participant.

Cause in this way, we are locked in for sure in a spectacular game from start to finish with most likely France winning it again which will be crazy! Last country who manage to defend the title was Brazil and it was quite a long time ago and France has the greatest chance right now to achieve what Italy and Brazil did.

They had pretty much strong defence until Saiss was there and once he was sidelined due to injury they started conceding. Morocco put up a great fight throughout the World Cup and really hoped they had something sweet in the end in return. Anyway they made us a fun tournament for us to watch.

And I didn't think that Morocco could get this far in the World Cup they had several great matches and in the end they had to lose to Croatia tonight, maybe they were tired of their game which was always overshadowed by defeat but that's the fact Morocco was only able to get here for now.
But the many rumors about the Moroccan player are getting a lot of attention in this upcoming transfer market which will be interesting as it seems.

About the Final, there is a possibility that I will choose France.

A bit disappointed today, morocco lost the third place to Croatia, I didn't get a chance to watch the game to know how their performance were, but the result of the match is really disappointing for me, after all the hard work and strength they've put into this game which brought them to the semi finals, it is only ideal that they could have at least stood at the third place since they couldn't make it to the finals, but still, they lost it.

Anyways, congratulations to Croatia for their win, we look forward to tomorrows match, Argentina and France, lets hope Messi does not disappoint his country and fans.

Morocco was never the favorite though so top 4 is the best achievement that they could get and aside from that, there were alot of new players that start on the starting lineup despite that they were the subs in the previous game so yeah the coach gave them chances to play. It wasnt the same squad that beat Spain or Brazil though so yeah Croatia won the game

Morocco's performance was not what I had anticipated. The desire to defeat Croatia wasn't present in the game. Even so, both teams competed as if winning the bronze medal didn't mean much for their team or name. Their quarter-final defeats demoralize them to give us good football to watch.

Having said that, a hearty round of applause for Morocco, the first country from Africa to break the yoke of Africans making it to the world semifinals. Even though they lost to Croatia, they gave a fantastic performance in the world cup that deserves to be recognized.

Considering the record for most goals in world cup is Miroslav Klose with 16 goals total, having 5 goals even before the final, potentially more goals with this game means that they did one third of it in a single tournament.

Mbappe has a bright future, and has a great team around him as well, there is a potential that if he keeps taking penalties as well, then he could beat Klose easily. The most goals in a single tournament is 11 though, which is pretty though, could it happen? Possibly if Mbappe faces very very easy teams and scores like 5-6 goals in just group stages, then in the other 4 games score just 5-6 more goals and it could be done, but it would be pretty difficult.

I'm really looking forward to Argentina vs France, it's really hard to predict who will win but my heart wants France to win. I know it's an important match for Messi but when we look at the teams, France is one step ahead. When I look at the odds of the match, they are close to each other. I don't think you should take any risks in this match. It could go either way. I think it is a match with a high chance of going into extra time.

And I really think that Gvardiol needs to be the best young player and the best defender of this World Cup. OK, maybe the best defender title can wait for a few more years, but he has to be given the best young player award!

While I agree that Gvardiol deserves to win FIFA Young Player Award award (any doubt about that is imho removed after his performance today) I don't think that there is an award for the best defender. I expect him to finish in the team of the tournament though.

I'm not sure he would be considered for the overall best defender of the tournament, as there are a few defenders who are slightly ahead of him, despite him being outstanding for someone of his age and being one of the hottest defenders in Europe.

Even though there is no award for the best defender, I am curious to hear who are those few defenders that had better tournament than him? The way he played is even more impressive when you take into consideration the way our team played this tournament, and how busy he was every single game. In 6 out of 7 games we played he was either the best or among 2-3 best players in our team and I don't remember any of our defenders playing this good in any of our previous world cups. Not even Dejan Lovren when he was chosen into 2018 team of the tournament.

I believe Chelsea and Leipzig verbally agreed that the transfer will take place after the current campaign. He'll blend in well with the EPL.

Unless they signed the contract, I don't think that they will get him. Not after the tournament that he has and definitely not for amount of money agreed before WC. Rumour in Croatia is that Man City and Real are frontrunners and I would rather see him in either of those two than in Chelsea.


I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised when I see our starting 11 before the game started, especially seeing Perisic as LB ( position similar to the one he is playing for last few years in Inter and now in Tottenham) and Orsic ar LW, as that meant Dalic decided to completely change the tactic and showed that we are not one dimensional team like Greece was back in 2004 for example (btw I highly respect what Greece achieved) and that we can play attractive and attacking football if we want to, and still be pretty good at it despite the lack of a world class forward.

Once again I was worried about the referee, and for a good reason given the fact that we should have been awarded penalty for that foul on Gvardiol, but luckily that mistake didn't had effect on the final result. In the end, 3rd sport well deserved, we were the better team today.

I think in this case they had a bit of a nervousness and it was very visible early in the game and started to improve after the first goal.
But on the other hand they also couldn't make a good scheme in this match, Morocco was too hasty when they attacked and indeed the finishing from the start of this world cup was also not very good but they forced this too much.

what Morocco has achieved today is an extraordinary achievement. this is history for them. and the squad will always be remembered in their history books.
despite the loss, I'm sure the fun from the Moroccan fans will be immense. they did well this year. hopefully, in the next edition, Morocco will be stronger.

however, we must say congratulations to Croatia. third place is not something easy. they do well. they played well throughout the competition. Croatia has become a country worth considering in world football.
