That is why there is a thing called amendments of rule and policy.  If a big concern sprouts out of this banning of online cockfighting and the wave of people who used to be using the online platform flocks the offline cockfighting and produces way more problems than the online one, then the government can always implement to ban cockfighting in the Philippines. Other countries have already done that so I don't think it is impossible for the Philippines to impose such a rule.

The banning of gambling advertisements is not quite an effective measure as the government of a certain country will not be able to ban all advertisements on the Internet. Besides, more and more Internet users use VPN that helps to bypass the restrictions of the local government.

This might not give a huge effect but for sure it will lessen the casualty since this one will not easily be seen by gamblers. The revenue generated from taxes will be a big temptation for the next administration if they are looking for additional revenues this is the easiest industry to tap because everything is already well placed, there's going to be a lot of lobbying to continue from operators, and it's going to depend on the next administration.

There's a possibility that there will be a continuation, operators are earning billions of pesos they are going to lobby it to the point that they will bribe officials, they will ask for strict compliance and regulations for it to continue, and they can still make billions if the opeation continues.

I totally agree with you here. In general i would say that i am really not one of those snowflakes that wants to ban anything or wants everyone to stop eating meat or stuff like that but i really have a soft spot for animals and i just think they should be treated well and only be killed if it is necessary (for example to produce food). I know that those cocks are treated and fed pretty well as soon as they are alive but that does not change the fact that their owners still let them fight to the death. If i remember correctly than in a lot of cases they even replace their normal spur with knives to make the fight even bloodier. So i would be happy if all cock fighting would be banned.

I hope so but I'm not sure if people will stop their activity of gambling cockfighting because they have been used to playing it for a long time. In addition, there may also be offline cockfighting bets in their neighborhood and no one knows about it. That would certainly make it difficult for the authorities to arrest or interrogate people who bet or were caught. But hopefully people will also be aware of the ban from the government.

I hope so but I'm not sure if people will stop their activity of gambling cockfighting because they have been used to playing it for a long time. It's a very good step by the Philippines government to put the ban on online cock fighting. Even though the cockfighting and gambling on it may still continue but it will be not on a large scale as previously.

Sometimes age can be deceiving. There are people that look matured already but their age was under 18 years old or under the legal age to play gambling while there are also people that are age is out of the calendar already but they are still looking young, they are sometimes restricted to enter inside the gambling places because of how they look but in order to be sure, why can they just require an i.d before can someone gamble?

Whenever something is forbidden, a black market appears. With the advent of the Internet, this process has become even easier. Therefore, the Philippine government, if it goes all the way in its fight against online cockfights, will eventually be forced to restrict citizens' access to the Internet (I don't know the local specifics, maybe there are already similar restrictions there). That’s why the move of president Duterte is really big, and maybe it will fully implemented so people can free from this addiction and start recovering again. Are you sure about this figure? The amount I always encounter in the news is ₱640,000,000 (₱640 million). That's why it was very hard for the current administration to put a stop to it because the revenue is that huge. If it was only ₱60,000,000 (₱60 million) a month, it would have been a lot easier for the president himself to just order its closure.

Yeah! that's what I'm saying because of no regulations, kids nowadays easily join and can access Gcash with the minimum regulations and that means they can cash in easily to bet and the problem here is the kids don't have any jobs at all except for the few of them, so where do you think they get their capital? this is a big question because before they even get addicted to playing online cockfighting, they already have this case where they might steal it from their parents or get it from illegal sources which we cannot even imagine.
