I honestly question why Mauro Icardi came to Türkiye. Like he has a foot similar to Drogba, he may be in top 10 in world if we compare finishers. I didn't see that good finishers even in world cup tournament last month. I guess only if his private life was better, he would be playing in top teams at England or Spain. I honestly question why Mauro Icardi came to Türkiye. Like he has a foot similar to Drogba, he may be in top 10 in world if we compare finishers. I didn't see that good finishers even in world cup tournament last month. I guess only if his private life was better, he would be playing in top teams at England or Spain. Icardi will be one of obvious reasons for Galatasaray s success this year in long run. I expect him to score even lot more.

I would say Icardi is one of the best strikers in the world. He is capable of scoring a lot of goals if he gets enough support from other players in the team. Galatasaray's main striker is Icardi. And this season he is showing excellent performance. He scored 6 goals and 4 assists in 9 matches in Galatasaray's jersey. He is consistently able to play well. And Icardi's performance has helped Galatasaray top the points table this season. Galatasaray's performance will not suffer if Icardi is not suffering from injury.

I think 25 million isn't that huge comparing his feet to many other strikers in European football (as we did in other posts). But can Galatasaray afford it? Well..  actually they can. But it means they need to give 2 good players (overall good player would be worth 10-12 million in average) to get 1. Not a good deal. I think with negotiations they can do 20. But its still too high. Board should try hard to make that value 15 so it may be more affordable.

Playing only 4 matches outside of İstanbul until the end of the season is a really big fixture advantage. It should be used well. It's necessary to win most of the home games. It's necessary to survive the away games in İstanbul with little damage. If so, a draw may be enough in Trabzon and Adana matches. The team must continue the winning streak because the opponents at the top don't lose points. There is no reason to be hopeless. If we look at it match by match, getting 9 points out of 3 matches in a week allows us to see the situation more optimistically. Alanyaspor, Karagümrük and Sivasspor are opponents that Beşiktaş can beat, although it's difficult.

Galatasaray would need to use all they have to sign Icardi and even that might not be enough for signing him on a permanent deal now. After starting to show an impressive performance here his value has increased quite much of course. This has attracted PSG's attention directly. But at least Galatasaray might still be able to extend his loan contract. Icardi can't find much time to play at PSG in the end while Mbappe is there. I think Icardi could lean towards staying here as long as he is satisfied with his football and the success of the team.

I would guess that there is really no "need" to buy a player at Icardi level. As a Galatasaray fan myself, I have to say that it would be too ambitious to buy a player at his skill level, and someone a bit lower would be a lot better. I do not remember the last time any turkish team spent more than 10 million euro in any player, surely it has happened but its not that common. This is why I believe that we should have scouts looking for a great striker in a cheaper place rather than trying to buy a player from PSG. Its not because its impossible, there is a possibility of course, they could negotiate it down a bit and than sell a few players and so forth, but he is "too good" for the league to risk it all, I think someone less good and cheaper would be good enough. If we decide to buy him though, if we can achieve that, I hope he stays this good for a while, and doesn't suddenly become a bad player that keeps being "injured" and we don't have another disappointment.

I think he doesn't worth the 25 million request tag because if he was worth that much, he would be in a big league right now, not in galatasaray. I think 15 million is more likely, and that means if Galatasaray sells one of their good players like Kerem, and then the rest could be paid.

They could find a buyer for Kerem at around 10-12 like you said, and the rest would be fair to pay, salary would be a bigger problem, because it would be hard to pay 6-8 million for a single player, but he is one that they really need and he could change the team for better all by himself with how he is scoring and assisting. At that point all they need to find is a replacement for Kerem.

I'd say Icardi's upside is being with Galatasaray. He is performing very well in the Galatasaray team. And the important thing is that he is consistently performing well. If he wants to return to the PSG team, I would say he will not get enough respect at PSG. Because PSG has bigger star players than Icardi. And so it will be difficult for Icardi to get a place in the main squad. Icardi should extend his contract with Galatasaray if he wants to perform regularly.
