I suppose it was not bad (51 points) considering how most of the other mangers were scoring but it still feels as though another opportunity to close the gap was wasted. Well, with one week over a new week starts and with that another opportunity to accumulate points.

This season started on such a high note with the points. It didn’t take long for users to go from 1 to over 259 points in just 2 GWs. That’s actually scary! There isn’t any reason to wait but, to start the chase immediately and any low pointers that keeps you around the average doesn’t look like it’s going to help, neither would going for some trier and errors to get players that we suspect could haul and they end up flopping.
Was able to score 58 points in GW2 but even that didn’t feel like progress.

This should actually be the target to start chasing immediately because if you keep waiting for that right time to use your chips or the right time to start chasing, the people at the top may be very long gone, and any high point you get at that point may be useless.

I feel this is an approach that most of us have had this season, starting very vigorously and then settling in as the season settles in.

The GW deadline is not early this week; there is still some time to make your selections and team adjustments.

It is very early in the competition therefore you probably have nothing to worry about being far behind if you did not use an of the chips yet. Nearly all of the teams in the league have used at least once chip and some have been successfully accumulating points as a result. I have not used any chips yet and only plan to use my team with the free transfers for now.

In the future I will probably play the Triple Captain first, followed by Bench Boost and then the other two as and when needed. Even though I have fallen behind the leaders, I hope my position will improve.

No, they would not. You are not going to lose your banked transfers if you play the Wildcard chip. Your banked transfers would be available for you to use from the next gameweek.

You've saved up 3 free transfers, if i were you, i'd rather use them than play my chip, but that's just me and it could be a wrong strategy.

I have spent a lot on the defense and took the whole Arsenal defense

Did you play any of your chips to make these changes, or did you take multiple hits for it? It's not bad to have a couple of Arsenal defenders, their rearguard is very solid, though personally i wouldn't take hits for that. I currently only have Calafiori in my team and i would only add another Arsenal defender when i play my WC or FH chip.

No I didn't make any changes yet, I bought Gabriel, Calafiori and White before the season started because I thought it is a good strategy since I was relatively sure that Arsenal would again be very strong defensively. In the first round it went well for me, but now I did some more research and I found that there are lots of FPL managers saying that strikers and midfielders are the players who win more points on average over the course of a season.

I have three free transfers and I have the wildcard to get a whole new team, but I don't know if it makes sense to use the wildcard now. It could make sense if you want to make fundamental changes, which is what I am considering.

My strikers are Isak, Pedro and I thought about somehow getting Haaland in, but I would have to give up my whole line of good defenders and sell a player like Ndiaye or E.Le Fée. That's why I ask whether from experience, strikers are much more valuable than defenders? I know that in a gameweek defenders can be the top earners, but then I thought about the criticism that one goal against Arsenal with three fielded Arsenal defenders costs many points, let alone if they concede two goals.

Look at this situation haha, I can't fix my team with 3 transfers right now

My reasoning is that with a Wildcard, I can earn more points as early as GameWeek 4, and by GameWeek 6, I’ll have accumulated 5 transfers, which will allow me to make some adjustments to my lineup if needed

My team seems way too weak, and if I only get 3 transfers, I don’t think I’ll be able to put together a satisfactory lineup
There are 7 players on my team who don't make sense

I don't think that your team is so bad that 3 transfers cannot fix.

You have 2 Arsenal defenders;

You have giant Bruno and Zobo in your midfield;

You have sharp attack. The place I see you need to fix seriously is the midfield and 1 or 2 transfers can solve the problem.

People use wildcard to get people like Haaland, Bruno and Gabriel in their team, but you already got them.

For you to fix the seven players who don't make sense, you should be willing to give up Haaland or Bruno

Yeah, same motherfucker I've blocked him - every time he pronounced someone injured, they healed the next minute. He was pretty decent last season but I've had enough already. Hahah.

It might be a timely reminder for those of us managing teams that the deadline is around 1pm tomorrow as the games take place at 3pm. I had plenty of occasions where I missed deadlines last season and that resulted in not be able to accumulate points. That was costly last season therefore I have no such intention to miss deadlines this season.

I have a feeling things will go from bad to worse with Tottenham because Everton will win tomorrow. Not only that, I am expecting Arsenal to lose their first match of the season away at Sunderland

With Iraola actually confirming it’s not a proper injury for both players (Gakpo and Barcola) and also confirming today in the pre match conference about not rushing both of them I think at least for the next game their minutes will be threatened both will not complete a match, except a different news tomorrow we could see both substituting each other with Barcola most likely to start,

As for Szoboszlai his minutes are nailed, I was only scared about him been used as a right back but it seems Iraola prefers Araujo right now there, for minutes I will be keeping him if not Gakpo was supposed to be my choice.

I decided to stick with the Haaland + João Pedro duo and leave out Bruno, Gabriel. and Sbozo
It’s a risk I’m taking, but I’ve managed to put together a more balanced team

Lolz, fantasy seem to be a replica of real life experience. No wonder some managers will refuse to sign some superstars because of budget. I'll keep blaming them, but they'll prefer to have 2 - 3 average players than a single superstar of equivalent price

Without a shadow of doubt most people would go for an Arsenal win (and that view is understandable). Some might not even believe that a draw is possible as Arsenal have won all three games and in very good form. I don't think they would risk him when Barcola is available ( more fit ) - I did some research and one Liverpool fan account said Gakpo trained today but won't play, I don't know how legit this leak is but I'm not taking any risk on my FH team. I swapped him to Odegaard.

I still can't confirm if Barcola is available ( wish he was cleared) - he'd be fun to have.

So, I’m playing my wildcard for this week, I’ve already been hammered by price changes over the first 3 weeks due some 50/50 decisions that didn’t go my way like pick Hume and Enzo Le Fee over GroB and Dey Cuyper, If I had, but since I’m playing from a place of strength having started the season better than I ever have, I want to settle into the season already and just start rolling transfer and making long term decisions rather short term punts.

I’m still pretty much in between a lot of decisions and choices, the only certain thing as of now is that Haaland is coming into the fold, along with 2/3 Arsenal defense, I still can’t particularly decided if Odegaard over Saka is long term decision or short term, and same goes for Isak, whom I like a lot, and I think could be worth more than every penny of his 9m valuation. Konsa might have eased the headache a little about having a decent (Arsenal) backline while not compromising too much on attack, or having to settle for multiple 4.5m - 5m MF and FWDs
