I don't think that any of the GOP politicians have refused to support Ukraine. But then, they are against handing out hundreds of billions of USD worth of tax payer money to Zelensky without any audit or accountability, especially at a time when the American tax payers are grappling with sky high inflation. The Democrats are using the Ukraine war as an opportunity to swindle funds and whenever someone questions them they are countering them with false allegations of bias towards Russia. Only a small fraction of the funds delivered actually reaches the frontline.

Perhaps the task is to turn the Russian Federation into the Russian Empire with the complete abolition of all pseudo-democratic institutions, the restoration of the monarchy and the division of the population into separate estates.  Perhaps this is the path that Russia will have to follow.

They have a long history - from Afghan invasion till Ukraine - the story goes on and it will keep going.

In my opinion, this is a hasty conclusion.... 

Most people have an instinctive aversion to war and bloodshed.  It was not Russians who fought in Afghanistan, but Soviet soldiers (citizens of the USSR). 

However, people who once participated in a war are potentially ready to participate in the next war, and so on ad infinitum.  But the worst thing is that by competently manipulating the collective unconscious, you can instill in any nation a love of war.  It's like a virus that most people on Earth don't have immunity to. 

Perhaps, indeed, world history is influenced not by individual peoples, but by a politically active minority (the so-called passionaries).  They directly affect the collective unconscious of people, inclining them to evil.
