I disagree. 99% of clubs would like to have a progressive coach like Ten Hag. Problem is culture. United need to scrub clean, like Xavi did with Barca.

Yep, 100% this. I've said it multiple times already - United's problem is not the coach.
Since Fergie left 10 years ago, they have 1 FA cup, Europa League and 1 League cup - it's simply horrible for a team with basically unlimited budget and player reach.

Half of these 10 years they finished outside of the CL places. They were the best under Mourinho, and they laughed him off of there.

^  What goes around comes around.  They did laugh at Liverpool for their lack of trophies when Liverpool had more than a decade of being in a rut.  Now it's them having problems behind the scenes.  Lol.  I guess it's just one of those things that happen to great clubs from time to time.  I'd expect the same thing for Man City when Guardiola leaves.

And in the EPL, it's harder to rebuild because they got other clubs like Tottenham and Brighton that could fight for a spot in the top 4 the minute one club shows weakness.

Chelsea and United had this wrong idea about managers. In fact even Spurs had it, they let go of n excellent Pochettino and lived to regret it. At least now Daniel Levy finally admitted the management made wrong choices but lets see how they handle it if Spurs goes through a bad period of losses like any club except City will.

United kept making money and it suited the club owners but the money they spent to get semi success and spoiled brats, horrible. That's not Ten Hag's fault!

Now if they kick out of UCL it will be the biggest embarassment of English football.

^  With Poch's exit at Tottenham, I think it was the right time to leave imho.  He gave it his all with the club and had a solid core of players who stuck with him until they had nothing more to give on the pitch.  Poch's last year at Tottenham, you could see that some of those players weren't what they used to and prolly needed to be replaced even.

But what probably was the wrong move for Poch was going to PSG instead of waiting for a better gig, like maybe Bayern or Real Madrid?

Manchester United didn't get along with Ten Hag. Ten Hag actually made the decision that affected Ronaldo's career. If I remember correctly, Ten Hag didn't want him in the team when he was going to continue playing. Maybe this is one of the biggest mistakes he made. If Ronaldo had stayed in the team, he could have been a big brother to the young players and contributed to their development. If Ten Hag doesn't get the team together soon, there is no way they won't be eliminated from the Champions League.

Ten Hag is a good coach and kicking Ronaldo out of that team was a great move. After all - they ended that season in 6th spot and next season without Ronaldo ended in CL positions.

United's problem is the lack of footballing people in the upper hierarchy of the club. I have a feeling that nobody there knows a thing about football or how it works. They just know how to promote it on TikTok, and that shows on the pitch.

Just look at their incoming transfers. It's such a waste of money, only Boehly at Chelsea did a worse job.

Nope, dropping Ronaldo is really one of the right decisions he made.  He was popular but he was somewhat a nuisance for Ten Hag because the squad had to revolve around him and the way he plays because he really doesn't defend all that well.  I think any manager would find old Ronaldo a nuisance as he wasn't like the dynamic striker or winger he was when he was younger.

The lack of United's success post Ferguson is just one of those things you know..?  It happened to Liverpool, Man United and it will surely happen to City when Guardiola leaves.

Even for me it was an error since they signed him up and with Ronaldo despite being not that young anymore still United I am sure would have done better than it has done so far.Ten Haag came here with a iron fist as they say and the first thing he did was to keep Cristiano at the bench meanwhile he started the season with a humiliating defeat 0-4 against Brighton as his first game, that says a lot if you like me believe that saying "First impression is the last impression" and as such I had no expectations of him doing any good,he did not do good in Champions League nor in Europa League and he is not doing that good even during this actual season,so for me is time to sack him.

See, when you hear people say this, then you realize the footballing world is 90% tiktok generation.

When did United not get along with ETH and why on earth are we xaring about Ronaldo's career when he actually ruined United and Juventus by going there yes he scored goals but at great cost financially and psychologically and not even winning title with United.

Ronaldo is not a big brother in a team that helps and builds confidence. He is a big bully who wants you to never question him. He can't bear to not be focus. Even Portugal are playing better and better without forcing to focus on him.

I don't think Ten Hag is a good manager, when he was manager at Ajax it was the players who made him a star. If Manchester United had Ronaldo, I think the squad would have been better. At least they would have kept the ball forward and it wouldn't have been such a problem for them to concede goals.

United does not need another star/flashy player that thinks mostly about his appearance and personal records. They already have plenty of them. They need a true warrior to line them up and make them perform on a rainy day in Burnley. If they had a player like Roy Keane in their roster they would be title contenders. You need to have somebody that is mentally strong to lead the entire team that will make them give that last bit of energy and keep their head high no matter what happens on the pitch.

Ronaldo is far from that, he just complains about everything when it gets though. Messi isn't much better either, he just drops his head and accepts the loss. They are 2 GOATs of our time but they aren't the type of leader United needs.

If I were Ten Haag, Next season, I will release Rashford and Martial and bring in Diaby from his Aston Villa contract, as well as either Osimhem or Boniface from Bayern Leverkusen to spearhead the attack. They have solid guys in the back and the middle, but their offensive line has always been a concern.

Rashford is a talented player, but he's not a team player; he's selfish and doesn't know when to pass and when to shoot. And Martial should have been dropped from the team a long time ago; his finest season was under Ferguson, and that was a long time ago.

United need a lot more than 1 warrior to be title contenders. They are a 900 million dollar team with Jonny Evans at centreback, for fuck sakes.

They are a laughing stock and a long way from making it on the pitch. I feel that they are the team that needs restructuring more than any other club in world football at the moment. If we exclude Chelsea, ok.

Do Chelsea still need restructuring after spending £1b? This is wild. BTW there is nothing wrong with Manutd giving Evans a support till the end of the season, he's not part of the project, he's more of a backup plan for the injured defenders. They can't just throw him under the bus.  Gary Neville enjoyed the same privilege some years back.

If you spend that kind of money and still need restructuring, it does not mean that it takes 4 billion to restructure - it just means you did an extremely shitty job trying to restructure.
Brighton restructured for pennies and looks twice as good on the pitch than Chelsea and United. They could have supported Evans all they wanted, but give him a role in the club - not on the pitch.

Just look at their imcoming transfers and the balance of their team. They still don't have a single center mid that's any good - and team balance starts and ends with center mid.

I gotta say that I agree with this eventhough it pretty hurts to admit that they have done shitty job in restructuring because I support the club. Part of it was probably signing Onana and not having another decent backup keeper and now we are stuck with Onana for atleast few more months if they ever decided to have a decent backup keeper but I kinda doubt that

There are some players that are still injured but its going to be pretty rough as things stand for now especially after losing two times in UCL already

I don't think Ten Hag is a good manager, when he was manager at Ajax it was the players who made him a star. If Manchester United had Ronaldo, I think the squad would have been better. At least they would have kept the ball forward and it wouldn't have been such a problem for them to concede goals.

I'd still have to say no.  Even if you put Klopp, Guardiola or Poch in at United at the time when Ronaldo came back to the club, I really think they'd be a lot faster in dropping Ronaldo cos the squad has to adjust and has to be built around him because he doesn't really defend all that much.  I don't think the great managers would give two fcks about Ronaldo if it's gonna pull the rest of the squad behind.

And if Ronaldo's was really that good then why did the club get rid of him anyway..?  :/  He's old and he isn't what he used to be when he could get away without defending all that much.  And the high weekly wages...  Ugh.

The biggest thing I see in United culture was actually their preference for instant stars and for this you must blame Ferguson near the end of his career. Don't get me wrong he was the best but in the last few years he just left with expensive, old team, and that continued all the way into today. Expensive brats. Not hungry real raw talent.

Ugh.
Ronaldo is one of the most incredible players we've seen in recent years. Even though he's older, he's a character who can really add a lot to the players and the team in terms of experience. When there were teams who wanted to take advantage of him, he chose to go to Saudi Arabia. This is of course his own decision and his own career, unfortunately nobody has the right to interfere in this. He could have played for a team in Europe and become a big brother and transfer his experience to the players of the team. Now that ManU are trying to build a squad of young players, I think he should have been utilized. I don't think it's important for him to play defense because you can do it with 10 players.

Hojlund will be a very good striker for Manchester United, he has already shown the signs to have all the makings of a player who will go on to become one of Manchester United's top scorer. The only problem Manchester United remain to have for me is in their defense which includes the goalkeeper. Onana shouted at Maguire when he just came to the club, now he is the bigger flop in the team, taking away all the attention from Maguire who now looks to be improving.
