Hey everyone. So. We've fixed most things... but you know how it goes. You can test on your own and everything is fine. Then test with a few people and everything is fine. Then 35 blokes come in and give scores for 18 games and something decides to bug out haha.

So the good news: Exact Scores and Close Scores, and everything else Odds/Outcomes related are pretty much accurate now.

Bonus points for upsets and Maverick picks are also working. CryptopreneurBrainboss, for example, did a fantastic job on Liverpool-Atletico. 3:2 earned him 4 points for an exact score and 2 Maverick bonus points for being the only one with a 3:2 pick!

Now a tiny adjustment still needs to be made to correctly award points for Correct scores (which are being counted as a close in some cases). This should only change a couple of points for those affected.

We expect everything to be in full working condition by MD2.

Meanwhile, my own points haul is taking me nowhere...

What makes Barcelona's odds higher than Newcastle's? Is it because Lamine Yamal won't be playing due to injury?
The odds I see right now are 2.65 above Newcastle, which is a little high, but I'm still curious about this... Even though they're playing away, I believe in Barcelona.

Newcastle are no pushovers and the odds is a clear reflection of that imo, Barcelona are quite short handed in several position, it's not just Lamine Yamal, Gavi, Balde and Frenkie De Jong are still all missing, and a couple of players already playing out of position, Pedri, Casado and Fermin would need to be at their best to dictate the midfield which wouldn't be easy vs Tonali and Guimaraes, that's what it will all come down, I'd say if Barcelona can dictate the tempo of the game then maybe, we could get scrappy win.

The odds shifted huh, Barcelona was still the favourites until yesterday. I got 2.3x to win or something yesterday but I guess we will still be using the pre-determined odds

It seems the penalty wont really matter in the early stages now that both points for score prediction and betting are combined right. Its kinda hard to picture anyone would get 0 points for the matchday unless he forgot to submit. Probably until we get the quarter or semifinals that the penalty would be affecting people that take risk on their predictions

Newcastle even with their best eleven hardly can have any chance to win against Barcelona so I think the bookies would try to scare us away from betting on this game but as always only the brave souls dare to bet on such odds, so what are you guys waiting for in here  ?

The best game of the night most people say it will be Manchester City vs Napoli which for me is not true at all, the real most beautiful game is exactly Newcastle vs Barcelona. A lot of players maybe missing for Barcelona yet for me even their second eleven are great players who are eager to show themselves at the first opportunity presented to them and what better opportunity to do so than tonight.

Sad that de Bruyne comeback was so short. He was replaced shortly after Napoli got red card. And this red card decided game, after it Napoli had no chance to save result.
Barca got win at Newcastle, best Rashford game for Barca so far with 2 goals, 2nd his goal was amazing.
Eintracht humiliated Galatasray 5:1, despite conceding first. Didn't saw this coming. Same like Brugge getting big win against Monaco. Bayer only took 1 point afrer scoring goal on 90+1 minute.

I really didn't understand how things came to that point so fast in the Frankfurt-Galatasaray match. Galatasaray conceded 3 goals in 13 minutes and after that there was just a disaster for them.

The interesting part was that they scored 2 own goals and another 2 were also because of individual mistakes in defense. I got excited when they got ahead first because of having some stakes on them. But it didn't last long.

Barcelona deserve the win, Newcastle dont flow in his game and only found a late goal which make seems the result more close than it was in the match.

As for me, Im not sure how I could mixed things up. There is no way that I would picked 1-3 on Kairat to win over Lisbon. Reminder to always double check your stuff before you submit. I could have gotten that extra 2 points or something from this

I'm not much of a risk taker, this is definitely not for me and that is what this pool is all about - you gotta have some balls to win it, if you come to play nice you're not going anywhere. I didn't learn anything from last season.

At first I thought it was a system glitch on stake until I checked other bookies I mean give this Newcastle United side to Barcelona straight 5 games without Yamal and they won't pick a single point.

It was some start for me, not like I would have expected but I got some understanding off it though. Some of you guys are already off the roof with points, it’s a lot of points and didn’t utilize my stakes to its best, that’s something to look out for in the forth coming round, I hope to make a difference in the next round, more better than I ended up in this round. Either way, it’s cool I joined up, already enjoying the league.

Jayce stuff, I like that phrase! Obviously it was a pure luck Though I really believed there would be many goals scored in Frankfurt vs Galatasaray game but I favored Galatasaray to win instead.

It was not my better round but at least it wasnt one bad one. I mean im jsut at mid tabble,i like my position in the start i can feel i can have some chances ahead. I need to put more research into the maverick points it can be a nice juicy spot.

Barcelona won! As I said 2.72 was a great opportunity to bet on them.    But Newcastle also wasted a lot of goal chances. If only Barcelona scored another goal it was going to be an exact score for me.

The same for Napoli and Kairat also. I don't even want to talk about our unbelievable loss vs Frankfurt... A chain of defensive mistakes and an embarrassing score at the end. Anyway, I guess 31.55 points isn't too bad for a start.

And here I was thinking for once, I was actually doing quite safe and decent picks. And ending up near the bottom for my lack of risk.

Barca was incredible value, yeah. Went on all my tickets, too bad the only one I actually won was a two-way Liverpool Barca as everything else went to hell very quickly. By the time the match started, odds were down to 2.35 but still!

jayce -- give us a little bit of time to fix some stuff but I think you'll still end up as the freebet winner. Amazing hits.

I've thought about it before, I just haven't had the opportunity to develop it yet.

Therefore, as soon as it is available, I will try to add this functionality, so that you can see the responses and statistics of each user individually.

A very mediocre match day one puts me on 29.75 points. Will have to do much better going forward. I often wonder if it’s best to go for what some might see as boring, conservative, less risky predictions throughout the tournament or go for the big scores. I took a risk at 9/1 or something like that on Sporting to lose at home to Kairat. Probably quite dumb in hindsight.

Pulled it back a little with Barca to win and BTTS but overall not good enough. Long season though, plenty of time to catch up with the early leaders. The games come thick and fast, looking forward to match day two already.
