It really depends, I think. There is no definitive answer whether the domestic league can contribute to mental stability and also to stability in the gameplay. In the case of Real Madrid I think they can use the La Liga games as practice games as the race for the title has long been over.

In the case of Manchester City I think they can use the energy from the domestic league and accumulate it along the way to their games against Real Madrid. Manchester City can win it all this season.
