Lewandowski plays very well after that for 1 or 2 seasons, and then he may retire from football.  Having youngsters for Barcelona is an advantage for the team because they have learned a lot from Lewandowski right now.  Moreover, when Lewandowski leaves the team, they do not have to wait long to fill his place.  I don't think it will gain extra motivation to win the Europa League Cup for Lewandowski.  He would get that motivation in the champions league, but I'm not sure if the Europa league will provide the same motivation.

Apart from wanting to find new challenges outside of the Bundesliga, Lewandowski goal is to come to Barcelona to add to his trophy collection with a different club. To be honest lewandowski didn't wanna play in europa league. It can be seen from how he was feeling disappointed with the result of barcelona degrade to the europa league caused by it can't qualified to the last 16 of champion league.
