In principle, the match was absolutely equal, except for Pedro's goal, there was nothing interesting. Arsenal opened the scoring, they were answered in the second half and that's all, I think the final result will be in extra time. But actually Arsenal looks a little bit unconfident, as if they were unprepared for this match. Maybe it's better if they lose, in that case they can focus on the Premier League, the situation there is also difficult

If you look at the stats, you will see that Sporting more dominates the match, they won the ball possession and made more shot attempts. In 2nd half, Sporting tried to play more aggressively, they have better chances to attack Arsenal. While Arsenal has changed some important players, they are not as aggressive as in 1st half anymore.

However, I don't think it is better for Arsenal to lose this match. They should qualify for the next round. They mustn't focus on EPL only, who knows if Man City overtakes them in EPL. They must try to reach the next round in Europa League, I think the title of this competition is also prestigious.

Arsenal are not showing any signs of losing this match tonight and that's because they really need the the Europa League and break the jinx of not winning an European trophy this season.

Sporting is hungry for goals they play with severe determination in other to make sure that they win the match. It's not actually easy to be play a scored draw and force the game to extra time while playing Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.

It's a tough match and enjoyable to a neutral. I think Arsenal are gonna win the match regardless

I mean Arsenal couldn't capture the control of the game in any half. The second half was even worse for Arsenal actually. They just wanted to secure a 1-0 win I assume but things didn't went the way they wanted. This is just making the players quite tired before the Premier League games. I hope Arsenal can still manage to eliminate Sporting by extra time or penalties. Otherwise this will all be for nothing.

Sure I didn't as all my tickets are made lost tickets just because Arsenal which is suffering and most likely the game will end at penalties.Maybe Arsenal took it easy by doing so but they are not only compromising their Europa League campaign,they are also putting at risk their Premier League campaign as the players,well most players from Arsenal will be tired and they risk to not make a good performance against Everton just a couple of days after this game,the players have not enough time to recover.If Arsenal had won I would have made a lot of money as I had a good parlay with odds of over 20 as Juventus won,Feynoord won and both teams to score and also Bayern Leverkussen won,damn you Arsenal.

Certainly not me and you can be rest assured, they already laid waste my bet, thanks to them. Although, Arsenal have been more aggressive in this extra time minutes. They've been in and around the Sporting CP box more often, made several attempts and the Sporting CP goalkeeper Antonio Adan has been an absolute hero with saves after saves. Sporting CP is looking a little frustrated now and are committing fowls after fowls just to push the game to a penalty shootout.
It's all over now and now to the shootout. Who will proceeded and which goalkeeper would save the day because, I really think its up to the goalkeeper's right now with the players all edging to score.

Had a nice 2/1 bet on Rashford to score with Man Utd win! Got a bit luck but Rashford has been rock solid in Euopea league so far.

Rashford would have scored more goals in the match with Real Betis. He squandered numerous chances to score goals that would have put Manchester United up 4 to 0.
Rashford scored an incredible goal (outside goal shot). No one anticipated the shot.
Rashford is in a good position to participate and perform well in every game. He has more goals left in him in his football career, in my opinion.

Penalties are clearly a matter of mentality and in this match Gabriel Martineli failed to carry out his role which knocked Arsenal out.
Even so, it can't be blamed either because it's also very difficult for the task of kicking.
The bright side is that they can focus more in the EPL now.

Finally Arsenal is out from the league,with a PK. I see sporting winning as a luck because both side played very well and they are equal to each other in their performance. PK is a game of luck which sporting became lucky this night to kick the gunners out of the league and they have secured a ticket to the next round. Arsenal should go and focus more on EPL,since that is the league that they can win this season if they don't relent in their performance because they have a rival. I think this might be an opportunity for Man united to get to the finals,since they are stronger and some of the qualified clubs.

Tough luck for Arsenal, but them being knocked out does him them the resources to divert to a specific competition and this should be the premier league which is almost coming to a close .
Btw this game having gone to overtime I don't think they will be winning their next EPL game because the boy's will be having tied legs and manager might be forced to rotate this team unless otherwise,great going Sporting:)

The game was tense, the hero of the game for Sporting is their Goalkeeper who made many important saves. Biggest blow is that we had two important players injured (Tomiyasu & Saliba) and still did not win this game even with the home advantage. Manchester United supporters are the happiest knowing that one team that can challenge them for the Europa cup has been knocked out. The EPL is what we cannot miss now, We have to focus all Attention now to ensure that Manchester city or even Manchester United don't steal that away from us too, that will be very embarrassing.

Manchester United though it looks like an easy ride for them now to the finals, they still have to be very careful with some teams that are underrated in this competition and even this Sporting boys.

I don't know if Arteta's decision not to start our regular strong first eleven players is due to team rotation or because he underestimated the boys from Sporting . For whatever reason, it looks like what cost us the game.

I don't blame a team losing with penalties since there is a huge hazardous part but I blame Arsenal not being apt to kick Sporting since the 1st leg, or even before playing penalties in the second leg..

Manchester United are now in the next round as predicted, but the notable event of today's match was that Marcus Rashford has surpassed Ronaldo in terms of goals scored with Man United in the European competitions, whereas Rashford reached the 25th goal today, while Ronaldo scored 24 goals. Actually, Rashford looks very ambitious and creative in his 25, so he is expected to be a legend there, if he keeps on at this amazing performance. However, the shine of Rashford could mark the comeback of Man United as a big name in Europe, they will be in the ECL next season, and could achieve a lot.

I think the 6th substitution is permitted when a match goes to extra time, and that is what happened today.
Very unfortunate for Arsenal to get kicked out by the penalties. With Arsenal leaving this competition, I think Man United are now the most nominated team to win the title this season.

Arsenal was doomed to be kicked out from the way they approached this game. Right from the first leg, the underestimated what Sporting CP could produce, used Turner for the post and it ended them in a draw. Coming to the second leg, Arteta had his captain M. Odegaard, Thomas Partey and Bukayo Saka on the bench.
How do we expect them to we expect them to win wth these guys coming from the bench? They just can't. If you want to get the best result, you've got to put out your best players. The dynamics of the game changed with the Odegaard substitution.

Arsenal didn't sort much in this league and as such, they've now got all the time they need to secure the EPL title.

I am waiting for many people predicting Arsenal is the candidate winning Europe League tittle 2022/2023 season  , many of them comparison with Arsenal achievement in domestic league because managed top standing position behind 5 points from Manchester City, but Europe League have difference atmosphere and Arsenal have eliminated on 16th round from not favorite team Sporting Lisbon.

Getting draw on first and second leg and not applicable with away goals match extended until additional extra time and Arsenal have loss trough penalty kick, right now left Manchester United as favorite team winning Europe League but I don't sure because still have Juventus although not favorite team but success winning 16th round home and away match from Freiburg.

As a team who has been leading EPL and losing against sporting CP is a big shame for arsenal. What's wrong with it? It seems like the position in the domestic league didn't give a guarantee that the club will be playing so well in the europa league competition. I wonder how many people lose by going all into the arsenal in the match against sporting CP? The result is unpredictable for sure. I meant people were also calling arsenal the most favorites to win europa league but look at how it can be defeated easily through a penalty by sporting. Europa league or even UCL league is not a competition for a team with arsenal's level. Arsenal needs to work even harder than it. Sporting was playing so well. Arsenal can only make a few chances and 1 turned into the goal.

The good result achieved by MU as it was able to beat betis away with small scores. Betis was not even making a goal against united.

Arsenal officials focused more on EPL than they did on Europa league, and the league didn't allow them enough time to prepare for their next matches, expecially today's game. It's good they lost the match, though the players performance were top notch but luck wasn't on their side. A lot of people predicted Arsenal to lose the penalty shoot out and it happened, personally I thought Arsenal would win the game. Sporting officials on the other hand looked confident and felt no pressure. Arsenal team had pressure written all over them, which wasn't a good sign for the team. The game was interesting, and tiring during the extra time, players made bad touches and missed lots of opportunities. Thumbs up for Sporting team, as they proceed to the next round.

Gunners Gunners Gunners, what a way to take a bow out from the Europe league, I wasn't expecting all the drama that happened to go differently for Arsenal. Sporting never gave up even when the Gunners are 1-0 up, I just hope this won't affect them in the EPL since they now have no distractions but it would have been nice for them to grab both the EPL and Europe league this season.

Arteta didn't start majority of his key players is another factor that contributed to their poor start, however when some of their key players were later introduced into the match they indeed changed the match, though Sporting Lisbon is equally a formidable side and played brilliantly well and rewarded with a long range shot which passed Ramsdale as their equalizer, unfortunately Arsenal were unlucky in the penalty shoot out, now that they are out of Europa league they should pay more attention to winning the EPL trophy and will aslo qualify for UCL next season.

Finally, sporting CP did it. Glad to see that arsenal goes out from europa league. This club was actually a mediocre club when it was performing in the europa competition unlike another team like MU. So many gunners being so mad caused by arteta didn't even let odegaard to play. What a game by sporting. I do believe that if sporting will never lose against arsenal.

Arsenal's level is far below those team who have been playing in UCL. Arsenal can't even pass to the last 8. Still waiting for the comments from arteta. I saw how confidence arteta said to the media about his team will defeat sporting CP easily.

It's just like a boomerang for arsenal. Arsenal is a team that will always be competing for EPL only. 

Sporting CP was superb. I wanna give all of my applauses for sporting CP.
