Dutch (state funded) media had an article last week: Consumers don't care much about the massive number of data leaks. They managed to find a "consumer psychologist" who says people don't really care anymore. To me, this sounds like conditioning people to stop caring about the many privacy violations we have. At least once a year some company leaks my data, and I'm not even talking about the billions of people who take pictures in public and then publish them on social media.
We have quite good privacy laws, but if there's a data leak, there are no real consequences for the company (or government) involved. Meanwhile, they're required to collect more and more data on everything. Even some budget webhosts are now asking for KYC information, and most people just do it.

Everybody already knew that governments don't really care about us, but it is quite astounding to discover the level of maliciousness these people have to their own constituents.

Crypto is the main way we can fight this which is the main reason they are trying to regulate it hard.

On the website, you still do not have any information about whether a service has been removed from monitoring and why. It is simply not visible without explanation.
I think there was already a discussion about that option earlier, and I really think it would be useful to have something like a log or something.
It is noticeable that the list of active monitoring services changes over time, but that is all we know.

⚠️ ShopinBit's invoicing provider exploited

Really bad news for ShopinBit and all their customers. 
I hope they implemented some privacy method for safely deleting old information, but I doubt that.
This is becoming almost a daily thing, hacks, exploits, leaks... and I think AI tools play a big role in that.

I spoke with a friend who is affected and we're wondering if somebody has already got consequences from this hack? It is a terrible news for the people who have bought a car by ShopinBit, because this must be done with the real ID. But in principle all customers can be exposed as Bitcoin or Monero holder. The data was stolen by a hacker with the name Fingerprint. The online invoicing system was obligatory from April 2026, but ShopinBit has implemented it voluntarily already in October 2025 (if Lando is telling now the truth in his email). And still they have lied to everybody that they are keeping the invoices offline after the first 30 days to prevent data leaks, now we see how it really was

Big and popular company occasionally face consequences, although we know the fine amount is small to amount of money they could earn. But based on AI translation, this part of the news is really annoying.

According to him, it can also happen that a driver's license number, bank details or other important data have been stolen. "If I see that my driver's license number is in a data breach, I would apply for a new driver's license." With that specific data, identity fraud can easily be committed.

A new driving license costs €53.65, plus a new passport picture, plus at least an hour of your time. A passport costs even more.
What this self-proclaimed expert says sounds good in the media, but I expect almost nobody to do this. Besides, even if you get a new document number, it can easily happen again and all your other data (email/phone/address) is still the same.
What's next? Move physical location after each data leak? You can just as well not even bother to unpack anymore.

I really don't like the direction governments are taking here. They're forcing companies to store more and more data, while the number of data leaks keeps increasing. Most people seem totally fine with this.
I give fake data whenever possible, it's good for privacy. Questionaire outsite? Ignore or make something up. Question where I live (zip-code) at the counter while paying in a shop? I make something up. Webshop that asks my date of birth? They don't get the real one.
But, for others, I can't do that. Insurances for instance need my real date of birth. If I enter it incorrectly, that gives them a reason not to pay out if it's ever needed.

The things they *all* say: "We take good care of your data", "We follow privacy laws", "We only share it with our 1658 partners", "It's ISO certified".
It's almost always BS.

Good point. We're working on a timeline feature together with KYCNot.me, but it keeps getting delayed. However the idea is we'll have a smoother way to share info about delistings so that if anyone on either team notices something going wrong then they can delist from both sites and leave only a reason on both within a single operation. It indeed seems to be the case that they lied about the offline invoices to their partners (us) and their users and maybe even their sales people which is nuts.

It could be this. However we have a system in place which allows exchanges to tell us that beyond some threshold (say 0.5 BTC) there is an extra surcharge to account for slippage. I'm sure CCE could implement such a piecewise fee calculation too.


New filter & warning for services that publish info on recent swaps

One user on our SimpleX group suggested we add information about which services publish information on recent swaps. This information typically contains the pairs used in the swap and the amounts.

That’s the first thing that comes to my mind, too. Some tests have shown that, even with smaller amounts (~$200), the CCE.Cash fee ends up being higher than the stated 0.5% or even 0.8%. The effective cost is about 1.08% in this case.
