We've made a few changed to OrangeFren.com

Firstly we've added a button to quickly swap currencies around


Secondly we've greatly upgraded the algorithm for calculating average swap fees that we use for the table on the homepage. It now includes fixed fees (typically originating from onchain tx fees). We assume a swap of around ~$300 which is quite typical, especially for users in a hurry. For larger amounts a lot of the exchanges appearing lower in the table will actually offer a much better effective fee, so please use the search functionality to find suitable providers for those sums.

We've added some new features to OrangeFren.com!

The table on the homepage with current exchange fees now has a switch at its bottom to pick whether you're swapping a small amount (~$300) or a large one (>$3000). This allows you to very quickly preview what the best services are for your trade size.


Below the table we've added a "Best for privacy" banner to let you know which service currently has the lowest fees if privacy matters most. To appear there a service must never require KYC, have a Tor Mirror and work without JavaScript.


The info in the tables and the "Best for privacy" banner are updated every time we fetch new rates (every ~5 minutes).

Yeah, we opted to remove them early to avoid any issues with stuck coins as they go offline.

Good idea with the status page, we already de facto use our SimpleX group chat for that purpose, because it's the only way we have to put out messages into the world when away from keyboard.

Unfortunately, FF has a very bad reputation, but such warnings do not exist on Orangefren. Also, I contacted Exolix directly and did not get any guarantees from them that they will not freeze funds and require KYC.

For Exolix, I experienced their KYC policy differently after direct communication.
I wrote about it in another discussion.

Their answer did not convince me that my funds are safe with them in terms of freezing or that they will ask for KYC at some point.
