Another poor game for England but the won in the penalty lottery.
So far England is not playing a great football the only thiongs that's matter is the result.

Great game for Switzerland.

Inthe time Nederlands and Turkey are playing and Turkey just scored.
They are now "my" team for the rest of the completion.

This is how England play sometimes we can say England's matches are always unprepared but that is the tactic of Southgate England's game is much more boring than other matches but they managed to score again after Switzerland did it.

Fortunately England went through on penalties and the penalty takers were all experienced meaning they were ready for this rather than the full match.
At least England going through means all the big teams will be in the semi-finals including the Netherlands who will win this time.

It turns out that during the entire tournament England (the main favorite haha) won in regulation time only once. The second main favorite, France, did not score a single goal from the game. And by the way, both of these teams advanced to the semi-finals in a penalty shootout with the same score. I have nothing against these teams, but in the semi-finals I will root for Spain and the Netherlands. It is unlikely that Türkiye will present a surprise today.
By the way, regarding the penalty shootout, the coach of the Swiss national team made a strange choice for the player who starts the series, perhaps this mistake was the reason for the defeat.

And we are through penalties... I really liked Switzerland in extra time. They got so close to scoring another goal. Especially that bold attempt by Shaqiri from that corner.    It could have been an iconic goal.

England have a really bad history with penalties in such competitions. I'm wondering if we will see another example of it. I really like Sommer as for penalties. He has been like a beast about penalty saving but we will see.

Switzerland can still win this but they are going to rely on their goalkeeper the most. Because England has many more quality players. If England lose, I don't think the board will wait much for sacking Southgate.

Overall, England journey to the semifinals was relatively easy, because they did not face other top teams. I predict that the Netherlands will be a strong candidate as England opponent in the semifinals, Southgate fate will be at stake in that match.

Switzerland played very well in this euro, they were a tough opponent. I wanted Switzerland to win because they deserved it. When it came to penalties, I was expecting magic from Sommer because he is one of the best penalty stoppers but he failed and England won. Congratulations to all English fans. The last three matches, Spain - Germany, France - Portugal and Swiss - England was really very exciting, all of these matches went overtime and two of them went to penalties, have we seen this before recently? I watch football since 2008 and I don't remember it.

One thing that affects this England team is the fact that you fans overhype them too much and that is why we think they can just defeat any team like that. How can you say England Should have ease pass Switzerland like the as though they are playing a smaller team, Switzerland eliminated the defending champions, Italy’ and  collected point from the host nation German which in my opinion are better than England. The game to me didn’t have any superior and that’s why it went down to the spot kicks.

I agree with you that upon the years that Southgate has spent with the England team he is yet to get a proper start line up. Today he opted for back three and wing backs only to change when conceded and that was when he was able to score. One thing I think he needs to change is having Shaw back into the lineup, man was rock solid when he came on and we all could see why Southgate trusted him even while he was injured and still brought him.

And if we rate both teams performance in Euro 2024 tournament,  I would say Switzerland has done way better than England in my opinion,  eliminating Italy isn't an easy task, if not for the penalty shootout England wouldn't have won in that game, in a game that involved penalty shootout one team is certainly going home, no one should underate Switzerland in this competition, they aren't an easy opponent team side this season's trophy.

I think England is just lucky to have won because they are not playing anything spectacular. Obviously, they are overrated. Deep down I expected Switzerland to win because of their record in this competition but as it is football, the best sides don't always win and when game enters penalty, luck becomes an important factor. Let's see how England will do in the Semi final against the winner of the match between Netherland and Turkey in which the later is leading by one goal as at half time. Turkey have also been one lucky side and if they happen to maintain their one goal lead, then we will see a semi final of two lucky teams.

No doubt about the Dutch ability to recover from this One goal deficit,  going into the second half, Do play more attacking football and put more pressure on the turkey back line. If they can score an early in this game, they'll be back in to win it to ensure their place in the semi finals against England. If Netherlands make it through to the next round, it will make the competition tougher and more unpredictable but I like to see Turkiye through to the next round to at least represents the smaller countries in this competition.

The kind of surprising result and performance we're seeing in the Netherlands vs Turkey game is one of the reasons why football known as a sport you can't just easily predict. Just like you rightly said, this particular game was the many people didn't find it difficult to predict the outcome because of how impressive the Oranje have been in the tournament but right now, the underdogs Turkey are leading with a goal to nil after halftime and if they can protect their lead for the next 45 minutes which I know will be extremely difficult, Turkey will be playing in the semi finals of the European Championship while the Dutch team will be relegated.
Netherlands I know will want to start the second half with a lot of pressures that might break the Turkish defense open and considering the quality of attacking players in the Netherlands team, o think they stand a good chance of finding an equalizer bit they just have to be very careful of the Turkish young attackers who are pacy enough yo hit on the counter

I can't say the Netherlands are doing pretty well in tonight's game because I was expecting them to be the ones dominating the game, more dribbling and all that but they only control the ball but not getting it more in the danger area of the Turkey side. I love how the Turkey national team are handling this game without relaxing on the ball, sending it to the half of the Netherlands and the defense of the Orange Nation like you call them isn't strong enough to hold back the Turkey players, if it continues this way I don't see Netherlands coming back to win this game. I think this will be the only game that won't take us to extra time.

Türkiye managed to win the first half and as you say Netherland has not made any dangerous attempts, if there are no changes in the second half then I think the situation will be even more difficult for Netherland. Previously I said that Türkiye could make a surprise in this match because they have the ability to do it and has often reached the semifinals in several tournaments, should we say congratulations to Türkiye earlier or Netherland will answer in the last minute?

15 minutes into the second half and I saw that Netherland were under pressure this is a sign  that they will be eliminated lol, 2 yellow cards will also hinder the movement of Netherland players and if they can't control it then they can just play with 10 players. By the way this will be the only match without extra time in the quarter finals after another 3 games have to go through it.

Suprisenly, the English team have got to the Semi-finals, they've got a squad that's capable of getting them to that point, but from their performance in the tournament I didn't expect them to reach the Semi-finals however, it's football after all and like they say, anything is possible, thanks to the goal from Saka that got them to embark on an extra 30mins and then to a penalty shootout which got them to the Semi-finals and like you said they'll be probably playing against Turkey or Netherlands. Well it would've been easier for the Turkish team to qualify for the Semi-finals if they've held their defense line for about 15-20 mins more but then they allowed Netherlands to utilize their little chance and Memphis Depay scored the equalising goal for Netherlands and then Cody Gakpo scored another goal few minutes later to put them ahead in the game, Turkish defence line was very losed and I think they've missed the chance of qualifying to the next round.

Netherlands have equalized in the 70th minute and have also added another goal to take the lead now. It is now 2-1 in favour of Netherlands who came from behind to conquer the game. The pressure on Turkey was too much and they couldn’t hold on to that and defend their one goal, it is now turning sides and the possession and full control of the game is now in the Netherlands side. They just have about 12 minutes to the end of the match and Netherlands are still in full control of the game, which of course means they can add more goals before the end of the match to end 3-1. Turkey can try as football is unpredictable but I’m not certain they can win the game now again.

I see England in the final already to be frank I expected them to win if they could defend well, though i thought Switzerland team would have a better position to win a penalty shootout but England did shockingly better there than I expected since they usually have a player missing a penalty kick good for them, good to see them making it to the Semi-finals .

Netherlands might likely win, but I will not disrupt the chances of Turkey team winning since they have surprisingly gotten this far playing pretty well notably against Austria where some would definitely have picked Austria over them base on how Austria played in the groups stage but I think no matter who make it to semi-final against England, England will likely come out victorious
