This is something that must have happened especially with the pressure and expectations for England which is very large I think he must understand that even though Southgate managed to bring England to the final but in the end it did not have any impact especially with the performance they had in fact it was a natural reaction because even though Southgate insisted on not resigning there would be a lot of pressure from outside who really wanted him fired.

He is the highest paid coach in the Euros but he can't manage the England squad well because his qualifications seem to be lacking for Southgate to control a national team as big as England so rather than adding problems for him it would be better to leave even though the salary received is very large.  Now it depends on England in the end whether they will look for a coach whose scope is still around England or not but IMO they have to be more realistic now especially with some great coaches who are now unemployed like Klopp it is also still worth approaching although there must be many obstacles to recruiting a coach who is not English later.

I think it is clear that England coach Gareth Southgate, is under a lot of pressure. He did good job getting team to final but they did not play well so people are criticizing him. Southgate wants to stay on as coach but many people want him to quit. He gets paid a lot but some people do not think he is qualified enough to coach big team like England. It might be best for him to leave even though he gets paid a lot. Now England has to decide if they want to find new coach who has done well in past like Klopp. It might be hard to hire coach who is not English but England should think carefully about what's best for the team.

England's passage to the knockout stages was easy for them, as England only beat Switzerland and the Netherlands to enter the final. Spain, on the other hand, defeated strong teams like Germany and France to enter the finals and the final match was within their grasp. If England had played the teams that Spain played in the knockout stages, they might not have made it to the final, although England's performance was not that great. Anyway, as Spain team is strong enough and their performance is not comparable, surely they are deserving champions which is why they won the Euro trophy. But England needs to up their game and if they can build a strong squad for the next Euro Cup they will have dreams of winning the title.

I would be very surprised if England won this cup. In my opinion, it was not England's right. Spain reached the final by eliminating France and Germany. England, on the other hand, had played against easier teams. Spain got the championship it deserved. England, on the other hand, showed that high transfer fees are of no use in the football world and that the team that plays team games wins. England's players are among the most expensive in the world in every field, but they keep losing in the finals.

France Germany Spain and England were favorites in this tournament but in the end we saw Spain and England in the final. For the final match it was actually a difficult task to pick either team between England and Spain as both Spain and England are strong teams but England did not show their usual performance against Spain. If England had performed a little better, then maybe the dream of winning the Euro title would have been fulfilled but it was not to be. Despite being favorites in the tournament, England eventually lost the title to Spain.

I think the tournament favorite was Spain from the beginning. I was also thinking about France in the final. Of course, it is no surprise that England reached the final. They have great players, but to be honest, their play in the tournament was slightly above average. Spain got exactly the championship it deserved. I think they are the best. Most of the players are young and they will probably see the finals in other tournaments as well

Maybe apart from Kyle Walker, I agree on the best line-up for Euro 2024. The reason is that the RB position that deserves it more is Dani Carvajal. We know that the right side of the Spanish defense is always safe with its impressive performance. Not only at club level, Dani Carvajal can still make a big contribution to his country until the final.

Apart from that, I am very happy to see Spain's generation of golden wingers consisting of Lamine Yamal and Nico Williams because these two players often cook up the opponent's defense, especially in yesterday's final match against England. On the other hand, Cucurella, who usually performed poorly with Chelsea, when playing for Spain surprised everyone with his performance. Comparing Spain's opponents to England's, Spain definitely deserved the trophy in the final. Spain have played well against their opponents this season and have had some good games. England, I think with a little bit of luck on their side, made it to the final. The fact that Spain has eliminated so many tough and favorite teams should be an indication of how much they want the championship.

It's just as if the Spain squad were filled with little boys with no regards for their elders as they literally out played every team they came across. With the way this team is set up they can even channel all other opponent for the upcoming world cup edition and if things were to be the same I definitely don't see any team stopping them from actually securing the title and becoming world champions.

Spain is able to be consistent in every match they play so it is not surprising if we see that they are able to reach the final round and win the championship trophy, facing England precisely the young Spanish squad is able to continue their positive trend so far so it seems that they are also still worthy of being favored in the World Cup later, but it seems that for the World Cup, Spain will have quite a tough job because how there will be many strong teams will played Especially Latin America which is likely to be a stumbling block for Spain later, Spain currently manages to become the country that has won the most Euro titles with a total of 4 championship trophies, in addition to winning the Euro Champion trophy automatically makes Spain current ranking rise to 3rd FIFA ranking.

 Maybe France remaining at number one in rankings is because they won the world cup in 2018 else I don't feel they deserve to remain there judging by their performance in the just concluded Euro's. Not even Belgium deserve to be ranked 2nd because of the same dismal show bit I guess FIFA has their reasons.

England ought to have known from the many games they’ve endured and the bardo escapes that playing it safe haven’t seen them through so well. Against Switzerland was it, the Swiss did score and the moment they became aggressive, Saka found his chance and gave them their equalizer and extended the play time to the plus minutes. It was obvious that England was lucky to have reached the final stage, but that can't be said of the semi-final and the final games, the team did their best with a better opponent. Of course, they couldn't have beaten Spain, everyone should know that unless the luck that helped them initially helped them again, but this time, the better side won. Contrary to the claim of if they initially met the stronger team, don't undermine the power of luck, if Spain or Germany met England earlier, they might still have escaped them if they were lucky the way they had it, it would just happen and that's it. What baffled me most was not even the match but Gareth Southgate resigning after the match. I wonder what he could have done after reaching that level. Some people's decisions will not cease to surprise me. But truly, I would have loved it more if it was Spain and Germany that played the final, it would have been more challenging than the way Spain pressed England as if they were not playing the final.

France performance was not impressive at all everyone expected more from them but they couldn’t match the expectation. Somedays are like that because you can’t be winning all the time, Germany was one of the best in the competition but unfortunately Spain proved to be better and got them eliminated but at least they impressed everyone with their performance, it clearly means this year is not their years so they will try harder next time.

England followed a more easy route and that was why they must have made it to the final. I also believe if they have been through the route of France they might not reach the final but still that doesn’t mean that they didn’t try their best and reaching the final was totally deserving. England still need to improve in many areas if they want to win the Euros someday, firstly i think some decisions made by Southgate are not the best and it probably have effect on them.

I think so too. If they had clashed with Spain or Germany after the group stages, they might have been eliminated and not have reached the finals. But they did and although they tried to put up a fight, they just weren’t a match for Spain and it showed in the possession and the general gameplay.

I had high hopes for England and for Kane to finally bag a major trophy in his career but Spain wasn’t having any of it and were more determined to win the trophy and went on to win it while putting up a strong performance.

I agree that England faced teams that were easier than Spain when going through the top 8 phase to the semi-finals, whereas Spain from the start was faced with popular teams whose strengths were extraordinary, especially Germany and France. Therefore, it is not surprising why Spain had a different quality in the final. England at Euro 2028 will no longer be coached by Southgate and this is good news because at least there is a new opportunity in the future that England can make more use of its star players on the pitch.

Overall, Spain's performance was much better than England's. Spain also faced strong teams such as Germany and France. England faced the Netherlands in the semifinals and England were only able to score 1 goal from open play and one from the penalty spot. England played safely against the Netherlands and that is what they did against Spain. Unfortunately Spain's game was much more attractive and I think Spain really deserves to be champions of EURO 2024. You can look at the statistics for England and Spain in the final and Spain played beautiful football while England played with long balls and had difficulty penetrating the Spanish midfield.

The defense is not complete without Toni Rudiger, he didn't go so far in this tournament but we all saw his impact. Asides him, I'd go for Laporte or Virgil Van Dijk. Are they trying to patronize that France Goalkeeper? I'd even pick Diogo Costa for Portugal who saved all those penalties.

Yeah right, this is beyond my expectations. At first I thought the match would be fierce but unfortunately England couldn't do much, Spain continued to dominate the match from the start and from all sides even though we know that England has many experienced players but that didn't help much. Spain's impressive play was quite visible from the start of the Euro until they reached the final and it was quite natural when Spain had more possession of the ball and took the lead in the final before England equalized. However, as you said, England couldn't do much in the final match so England couldn't equalize again after the second goal from a Spanish player in the 86th minute. And that was the goal that led the Spanish national team to become champions of Euro 2024 again this time.

Because England football team gave their hundred percent and win and lose is a part of game and nobody can win every day and every match because one day you are winner and may be you will be loser in the next day. Because team play the match and nobody can play the match individually and no team can win the match  if single person is performing in te team because team is very important if you want to win any tournament from low level to high level because if players will practice that things in low level then they could perform well in high level. Because in the tournament we want only win and we have to play know out game and if we lose the match we are out of the tournament. That is reality of football team and everyone accept that teamwork is everything.

If England meet Germany in the Knock-out round, they will go home early from this tournament, because their performance is still far behind Germany. Spain managed to get rid of Germany, the quality that Spain has is very difficult to match, especially England who qualified for the final by faltering.
England must learn from their failures in the last two finals to achieve success in the next tournament. The quality of the players is not a guarantee that they can win the trophy without being supported by the brilliant cooperation and tactics of the coach. I am very comfortable with the front 3 and assuming Musiala got to the finals and eventually Germany wins, he would have been the best player of the tournament.

Someone argued that because he didn't do something similar for the next match penalty kick against France. But I think that once was ok for him to be here unless he conceded more goals.
