It's not just about Muslim countries having rules about drinking alcohol and nudity or any other rules, there are some rules in any country and all the visitors should respect these rules in Qatar, I saw many people say they can drink alcohol even in stadiums but they need to spend more money and buys more expensive tickets which is a bad side of the story when some people are allowed to break rules and some other people are not allowed.

It has nothing to do with Qatar being a Muslim country. If you have money, then you can do whatever you want in that country. Beer and other alcoholic drinks were permitted for some of the fans, who had top tier tickets, but two days before the kickoff it was announced that such drinks will be prohibited for the rest. I would rather blame FIFA for this fiasco. It was their responsibility to make sure that fans are being treated well. But then, FIFA didn't uttered a word against Qatar, when they made all these changes to the existing plans.

To be fair over half of the football fans in the world drinks something while watching the game, it may not be good for your health or anything but it's their right to do so and banning that is not acceptable. Telling Europeans and south Americans to not drink? That is a silly thing to do, they literally watch something just so they can have a drink, they literally spend time in the pubs watching games. Hell half of Brits spend their weekends watching a game in pub getting their drink on.

So, to say that it is not allowed just because Qatar wants respect for their culture? That is a low blow, if you want respect for your culture, then respect other cultures as well, you were the one who invited everyone to your nation.

It has been a while since the world championships were organized in America. The Olympic Games have often been organized there, in the continent of North America. But I don't remember World Cup football that way. At least not since 2000, because from that date I started checking some statistics and looked at some information from all the final tournaments. America is a large country, logistically it is quite a job to arrange all this properly. As a player, it is also absolutely not nice to have to travel everywhere. As a player I would not like to stay in Mexico, you often hear stories from the criminal world there, you have to be able to feel safe as a player in an area where you play football.

We are going to see how the world cup is going to be now that it had been taken to the North America for them to host the world cup and I hope to be there to get some chill from the US weather and there environs. American has good weather and good environment whether many of the matches can be taken. I just hoe the coming world cup would be very interesting compared to the one that is just concluded. Since the US is the world power I hope to see them flex there muscle making the next world cup a big success.

These are three football playing countries. US and Mexico have even hosted the world cup before. So, there's clearly not going to be any controversies because it's all going to be as expected.

There might be some issues with visas though, specially for the US matches. We'll have to wait and see.

However, the issue of people's freedom and more "flexible" customs will certainly make the visit of foreign fans much more pleasant and welcoming than it was in Qatar.
There is also the economic issue, I believe that watching games in American countries, paying for a hotel or even transportation will be much cheaper than in Qatar.

In terms of availability of alcohol, I can assure you that fans will not be disappointed in either of these three countries. I am more worried about the visa formalities. Getting a tourist visa to the US can be next to impossible, especially if you are residing in some of the third world nations such as India or Indonesia. I don't know much about Mexico and Canada, but hopefully getting a visa to these countries should be a lot easier. But then, almost 80% of the matches are scheduled to be held in the United States. What I don't want is fans spending their hard earned money in purchasing tickets and then not getting a chance to watch the matches as a result of visa complications.

The main issue that I see is that it will cost a lot of money to move around 3 countries, and multiple cities. Also you would need to get different accommodation in each city/country.

Seems like a bit of a hassle, and I guess some fans will only go to one country, also there might be visa issues.

Even the 2014 edition was much better than the bland version we had in Qatar. In both cases (2014/2018), the host nations made sure that the guests are treated like royalty and did their best to showcase the local culture and customs. On the other hand, Qataris were very busy in splashing their money and show to the world how rich they are.

I think that's already expected because large flocks of people from different parts of the world will indeed be going towards North America to watch the World Cup games and it's also expected that these countries will heighten their gates to avoid people who are taking advantage of the event and will only let people who are only approved to enter these stated countries that will hold the games. And for the approved people, there's nothing to worry about because the upcoming world cup will be much looser from restrictions like foods and liquors, what they have to do is just enjoy the whole event because North America houses free countries.

I think it is important to remember that football is what people care about. That's the core thing and I agree that Qatar may have been not so great but the final was great and if all the games were like that then I would have agreed. However, when you do not have a nation who doesn't have a proper football team, then it is going to be boring because the culture is not there.

Human rights violation is the major thing that had raised questions against Qatar, but nothing is taken seriously. The country hide everything and for that reason Qatar should be given atleast some penalty. The country doesn't have much history of football, however it received the hosting rights through bribe. Now once again it had requested for the hosting rights of U-19 World Cup.

When you have endless money, then you want something intangible like fame, world recognition, etc. Otherwise, why are these sheikhs competing in crazy projects (including buying up European football clubs)? It was something from the same area. It's not economics, it's closer to politics where rational considerations don't work.

Some time ago I heard that the U20 world cup failed to be held in Indonesia because FIFA decided to revoke Indonesia's name as the host due to problems that occurred in Indonesia.
Actually it would be a shame if Indonesia failed to host the U20 World Cup because the development of Indonesian football is actually quite good and Indonesia is also one of the countries with a good national football team in Asia.
Until now I have not heard which country will replace Indonesia and I am also still wondering why FIFA was able to pass a decision that Indonesia's name was revoked as the host of the U20 world cup.

I visited this country just once a few years ago and I can say Qatar is just a rich friendly country, if you have enough money you can enjoy in this country and do anything you want while for normal people it won't be a good experience while comparing to America here we are going to see the next world cup on it you have luxury hotels and mostly I see rich people visit this country, but in America even if you don't have enough money you have your stay in that country which can be good for the people who go America for the world cup.
