It's quite entertaining to watch England and France were scoring each other the whole 90 minutes. However, this is a pointless game. A 3rd place in non olympic competition is useless. So this is why i think it's was a fun match.
Nevertheless, i congrats England for finishing at 3rd and get their bronze medal. this is has to be their best finish since 1966.

Other than that this also show valuing Olise for 200m is absolute comical.  

The whole game was interesting, especially the goal difference between the two teams, both teams scored 10 goals in the whole game. Of course, it is worthless to finish third between the two teams, so there was not much competition between the two teams. However, the England team finished third, their performance was great, they attacked strongly, they scored four goals in the first half. The game that England and France saw throughout the match was very interesting, Mbappe has become the top scorer in the World Cup with a brace and has a higher chance of winning the Golden Boot. Although Messi is two goals behind, if he can score a brace in today's final match, Messi will get the Golden boot, otherwise Mbappe. However, Olise is in good form, he must be valued by good clubs, although his performance in the World Cup was a little better, but at the club level he is in better form.

Based on what I saw in the first half, I can say that the French players aren't taking their opponents very seriously. Mbappé, in particular, is attempting rather nonchalant dribbles in attack. Some players are drifting around the pitch like ghosts; if they continue like this, the English could secure a historic margin of victory and finish the World Cup in third place.
France needs to make at least two or three substitutions for the second half.
The fourth goal arrived before the first half even ended. Unless England eases off, France could be facing a historic defeat.

Well France came back stronger in the second Half, I wasn’t expecting them to even score as much as four goals in the second half since they were down four goals in the first half but this game was a thriller, a 10 goal third place game…that’s impressive.

But generally, France performance in this first half was very disappointing but atleast they didn’t allow themselves to lose in disgrace with a huge margin, and this was deschamp’s last game as France head coach.

Congratulations to Mbappe even though they lost at the end, he still got the chance to be very close to winning the golden boot, he scored twice and provided an assist in the second half, he’s now currently the leading All time goal scorer in the World Cup history before tonight’s final. Let’s see whether Messi would grab the Golden boot in this tournament and finish this World Cup as the leading all time goal scorer..

Congratulations to England for finishing strong in the tournament. I didn’t think the players would take the game seriously, the defence on both sides was so poor that we had 10 goals in a World Cup match. It was interesting to see Rashford performance in the tournament, I wonder what this could mean for him club-wise. Saka and Jude Bellingham had a great game, with Jude breaking the record for England highest goal scorer and Saka scoring a hat trick.

I could watch only the highlights (match was at 2:30am Indian time, and I had to skip it as I need to be with my relative at hospital). 10 goals in a match sounds odd. And that too, in a match between two of the top-5 teams. I expected France to get a consolation win, but that never happened. France has some of the best players in the world, and as individuals they perform really well. But it was England who had better team co-ordination. BTW, the final looks interesting.

Sounds like a basketball game, doesn’t it? I didn’t want to watch the game because I thought it would be rubbish and that both teams would play their reserves. I was to surprised to see Mbappe, Barcola, Bellingham, Dembele, and Saka  in the score sheet. To be fair, I don’t think France lost because they were less “coordinated”. And their four goal comeback in the second half proves that France can be a lethal team when they put their mind to it.

But come on, if we are calling it a basketball score that will be a very very poor performance, I’ve never seen such score line from a basketball match, it might be just fair to relate it to baseball as 4-6 is a common soccer Line in the game. Real basketball score line should be like 108-120.  for NBA it could be more.
However, the match was entertaining as there was rain of goals until the last second of the game. Both team showed that they deserved to be In the third place but I think the better team won.

Even though France didn’t win the match I am happy that mbappe got his name on the score sheet twice putting him self as the player with the most goals in the tournament at the moment with 10 goals all together. It will be interesting to see him win that for him self than just putting this kind of performance in the tournament and not winning anything for himself. I hope Messi doesn’t score more than a goal today in the final so that Mbappe get the golden boot easily.

I think the team that will win this match is France. Because in previous matches, France really played very well and they were also very strong in all aspects. But in this match, France really weakened because they conceded six goals in this match, which is a very large number. So that's why I also don't understand why all this could happen. I also thought that France would win but yes this is a football match which of course is always full of surprises but the problem is that France is not like usual they concede goals so easily even though usually the French defense is always strong but yes it is possible that the French players are less enthusiastic because their team did not advance to the final but in my opinion any team will try to win even if they finish in 3rd place because of course being 3rd in the world cup is a good thing. if you think about it it seems that France's strength is inferior to England's strength because in England if you pay attention to the performance of the players is good but France can also score 4 goals which is a good thing because 4 goals is also a lot. but in that match I think it was very unique because we saw Mbappe and Bellingham competing in that match even though they are the same team at Real Madrid. yes now there is only 1 more match in the 2026 world cup and we will see whether Spain or Argentina will be the champion.

The highest I predicted was over 2.5, because 3 goals in 90 minutes would be the maximum if you consider both teams’ goal-scoring productivity—a total of 10 goals. That’s crazy. It was like a regular match, not a third-place playoff. Honestly, it was beyond my expectations.

What’s even more unique is that England wasn’t the favorite to beat France, since France has been considered too solid so far.
Within 45 minutes, 4 goals were scored, and only after that did France narrow the score.

Honestly I watched the third place match just to see Mbappe's best performance and I expected him to score a hat-trick. I don't give much importance to the importance of the match because these two teams have already failed to qualify for the finals and the match is only for ranking. Now who will win the Golden Boot will depend on Messi performance in the final match. I am not too excited about the final match because I feel pretty sure that Argentina will win. Congratulations to Mbappe for being the top scorer in this World Cup so far. Messi is 2 goals behind him.

I'll be honest: this match was very weird, I don't want to say rigged but the whole thing was weird. At first it looked like France didn't even bother to press England's player, just look at Rice's goal, he had all the space he needed. And then it was France's turn. I felt like they just wanted to entertain the fans, that's it. We saw a lot of goals but very weird behaviors on the pitch.

I also had that perception, but they hid it very well. It's incredible that France showed what they were capable of after the second half, but there were 5 minutes where they did nothing and Olise also stopped scoring goals. That match should have ended in a draw. Besides, they no longer see the third-place prize as something good, but as a consolation prize that doesn't have much importance, which is why they played like that.

Even though the match ( winning the third place) is not as important as the main trophy at least they would have try win to go home with a medal instead of finishing the whole matches without something to show forth well that is their business. Did you noticed that at some point Thomas Tuchel wanted to try the strategy that made Argentina removed them and that was why France was able to score those goals on the second because if not for that they would not have scored those goals.

I would say that Tuchel's decision during the whole World Cup have been pretty poor. The final result is not bad at all because the managed to arrived third, which is England's second best result since 1966, when they won the World Cup, but of we look at the team's performances during certain moments of the matches, we see he made some poor decisions.

That was one heck of a penultimate game. Won my bet on England, but I doubt anyone would have expected a 10 goal game thanks to both sides scoring like crazy relentlessly. Many are expecting similar stuff in the final, but I am betting on the opposite.

50/50 final IMO, but I give the edge to Spain as long as FIFA stops indirectly helping Argentina.

It's more unbelievable to see France shown their weak defense again. Before World Cup 2026 start and even before the semi final, people thought France are like unbeaten team but only two last matches in the tournament reveal something opposite. Their midfield and defense systems are bad and can be exploited by strong opponents such as Spain and England.

This match makes English fans regret a lot, like what if they had played more proactively in the semi final match against Argentina after leading 1 - 0, they would have won that semi final match.

I thought it was a dream. Even the squad on the French bench couldn't believe the scoreline but for now it's looking like France are getting something. It will be shameful if England will let this win elude them just because they got too relaxed.

Sometimes the players interest is less in the third place match but it didn't seem like that at all here. I think about the final a little differently, though. There is no possibility of 6 or 8 goals not being scored I guess. But sometimes even a tight 2-1 match is more memorable than a 5-4 match, If both teams don't give each other a chance to make mistakes from the start then the match will be enjoyable even if there are fewer goals.

Had it been England played the way they played in that France v England, they would have conceded alot and they know it, the reason for that high goal scoring run for them was because of France was just utterly complacent, it was a terrible play from France but Gusto and everybody in that back line was terrible and it feels like they didn't even want to play the match hence the stupid lineup.

I’m pretty sure Mbappé will once again be the top scorer at the World Cup. That’s because scoring in the final is usually very difficult. even for Messi. The France vs England match was truly entertaining for me. although I was actually hesitant at first about which team to root for, once the match started, I ended up rooting for England. But to be honest, I was quite surprised by the final score of this match. Still, both teams played freely in this game, so we really got to see them play with equal confidence and without any pressure. I love matches like this.

Honestly, this is the most entertaining and interesting match because I didn't expect the score to be this big. A Total of 10 goals were scored and the first half as if it had already been completed which makes me think France do not intend to play. But in the second half almost goals continued to be created from both teams, France almost caught up. I think if in the first half France had been more aggressive then the result could have been different.

I believe no one here expected to see a big scores like this for this crucial match. 10 goals in a single game for that matter, is it a basketball? I'm not saying it's not possible but coming from a two strong teams, honestly it's surprising and in a world cup again. But for me this is a big embarrassment to France team to concede six goals in this tournament, because no other team was rated for this world cup like France, but Spain and England have proved to the world that France is overrated. The only position France is good at is the attacking line but honestly their defense isn't encouraging.

I was hoping we are going to see 4-4 at full time when Kylian Mbappé scored his second goal against England, but Gusto fouling Spence in his 18 yard box and committing a penalty when France was searching for an equalizer gave England a chance to increase their lead by two goals and denied France a chance of bringing the match on level terms, although France scored a fourth goal in extra time to bring the score to 4-5, as they were trying to push for another goal, England had a counter attack which they utilized and scored their sixth goal to which they finally win the match 4-6. Even though as France couldn't win England, I'm delighted Mbappe scored two goals to be at the of this World Cup top scorer chart and also becoming the new all time top scorer in the World Cup with 22 goals.

France were trailing 4-0 in the first half. I do not know why the team played so stupidly in the  first half. They conceded four goals. They could not even attack that much in the first half. They only had  2 shots on target.

At the beginning of the second half we saw a big change in France's gameplay. They were very aggressive. France  scored the first goal just  3 minutes into the second half. The match was 4-3 in  66 minutes. If Saka hadn't scored from the penalty spot, the match would have ended 4-4 . But this penalty changed the whole  scenario. In the end, England was able to win the  match 6-4.

Both teams played a completely attacking  strategy and scored a lot of goals. If they could  have performed like this in the semi-finals , both teams would have been able to qualify for the final.

I dont remember any game for a third place in football with such high score rate. Spectators must be very lucky to see so many goals in one game, and especially in a game for third place. It is a really rare moment when someone losing 0:4 is still able to score and make it 3:4; to minimize goal difference. This looked more like a game of hockey, games there are usually more resultative.

France decided to forget in this match that also need to play defense. I think France came into this match more disappointed because they were clearly expecting to reach the final and take revenge on Argentina. But this was Deschamps' last match for the French national team, and they should have played much better. I don't think any of us expected to see 10 goals in this match, I suspected there might be TO 2,5 because England and France score, concede, and generally play good football, but 10 goals is crazy. I think there will be far fewer goals in today's match.
