But as we saw in the case of Gujarat Titans, the batsmen tried to stay in the pitch. They scored well in the power play but aggressive batting is required to win such matches. SRH team set 231 runs target in 20 overs by losing 6 wickets. Ishan played their line very well and he made 94 runs in 48 balls and hitting seven 4s and five 6s. SRH team beated RCB team by big margin and RCB team lost game by 42 runs. Pat effort in bowling was also very nice and he took down 3 wickets in 4 overs and gave 28 runs.  Congratulations SRH team to win the game very easily but unfortunately SRH will not play semi final games.

Although this defeat for Gujarat Titans could not change the points table as Gujarat Titans are at the top with 18 points. They have already secured the playoffs. Chasing a target of 235 runs set by Lucknow Super, Gujarat Titans finished their innings for 202 runs and lost by 33 runs.

But it bring the risk of being moved to 3rd position if PBKS and RCB won their remaining matches and since the new play off system to reach final the teams end up 1st and 2nd get an extra life at qualifier 2 so it's good to finish at the top 2 when it's possible. I didn't see this game because I thought GT will roll over the depleted LSG but Marsh surprised us though with a ton. So I guess still I have to watch the remaining league matches just to see who ends up the top 2 even though the top 4 is already decided.

LSG should have performed like they did in the last match against Gujarat a few more matches ago. If LSG could have performed like that a few matches ago, then LSG would have been much ahead in ensuring the playoffs in the IPL, but if LSG had performed well at a time when LSG was eliminated from the tournament. However, every position in the points table is very important. LSG may not regret that they could not be between 1 and 4 in the points table, now they are trying to utilize the opportunities that are in front of them, that is, they are trying to finish the season in the fifth position in the points table.

I am lazy to go through comments but I remember you saying that Nair should be out, and now you are saying that he was not given enough opportunities!?

Regarding Vipraj Nigam, he's quality all rounder, if you check history of all matches he's played, he's done fine job — handy as batter down the order and has mostly bowled at good economy rate (where even mainstream bowlers went plenty), and took wickets.

On note, In 4th match this season against LSG where we saw one of best IPL chases, aside from Ashutosh he was main reason why DC pulled off the chase.
