Looks like IPL 2025 schedule will be released later today and I am expecting several double headers to compensate for lost time. Am also expecting almost all foreign players to continue participating.

From what I have heard, remainder of both the IPL and PSL will be played outside the subcontinent. And this eradicates the risk of anymore interruption, in case skirmishes break out again. Overall, the entire episode has been quite disappointing for both the Indians and Pakistanis.

They may postpone it for long until the situation eases up, but i don't think they would be thinking of resuming it outside India. Finally, the news is that IPL will resume . Due to some war and border tensions, the IPL got stopped but now finally the wait is over and in 17th May, it will resume in India.

There were many news that any third country to host the series but remains in India, the final will be played on 3rd June 2025. Now it is the time to look back at the games. The last match between Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings finished without any result, half of the match was played but then stopped. However, I am excited to see the IPL match back in action.

I get Hazlewood leaving thanks to his injury and WTC final which probably reduced RCB's chances to win the cup drastically, but why the heck did Starc leave? He wasn't injured and he was critical to DC's playoffs hopes.

Agree with you. Also, I believe that BCCI will increase the security pattern of IPL even though both countries have agreed to ceasefire. Still, some players might show concerns to return in IPL for what has happened a few days ago. Cricket Australia has left the decision on the player about returning in IPL: Cricket Australia supports players' choice on IPL return ahead of WTC final.

At the same time, they have also announced the squad of the WTC final today. Maybe they are indirectly saying the player to give their focus on WTC final now.

You're absolutely right about this. If we put ourselves in those players' shoes, then most probably none of the foreign players will return so quickly in this situation. Even though there is no chance of the situation to get worse but when it comes to life, that's the most important thing for everyone, including the players.

OK.. I was wrong and sorry about it. There is confirmation regarding both the Pakistan Super League and the Indian Premier League. Both the tournaments will resume in four days from now (on 17th May). In case of PSL, the revised list of fixtures are not out yet. But it is assumed that the remaining matches will be held in Pakistan. For the IPL, the BCCI has announced that the remaining matches will be held across 6 venues: Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Lucknow, Jaipur, Delhi and Mumbai.

Every team will be affected and worse the ones who are in race of play-offs, Buttler leaving significantly changed RR's state back when Englishmen left to prepare for T20WC, expecting similar here.

I think there is an overdose of cricket going on and it is high time we (ICCI, and BCCI) realized how tight the cricket schedules are. I mean, IPL months are black months for any entertainment industry in India, nobody watches anything except IPL.
There is a t20 Worldcup also on the horizon, ODI cricket series is also there. IMO it is better to shorten the IPL format so that everyone, including players, can rest and give ample attention to their national teams.
The best idea would be to use that extra time to promote other sports (especially women's sports).

I am not sure whether Cricket Australia will allow them to do that. BTW, Cummins should be available by end of May. His franchisee is out of playoff contention.

Now, ODI series that's starting on 29th May, it includes players from IPL teams that are likely to make it to play-offs namely Buttler from GT and Bethell from RCB; Salt is not selected for national squad so Bethell's unavailability isn't going to cost RCB much as both Salt and Bethell are similar caliber players but Buttler — GT is surely going to miss him, and I am not sure of GT's chances to reach final without him being there.

Lol, that makes them to take the most difficult choice of their lives.   

Either go for the money, and more than that please their franchises and continue to play for the IPL or care about their own country and leave IPL and join the warmup session at WTC. Also, this much hectic travelling wouldn't suit them either. Anyways, I would be interested to know if Travis Head, Strac and Cummins are really patriotic

The news is BCCI is having tight window and if they move the remaining matches to September then it will affect the CPL so they let the teams to convince the overseas players to join the team and BCCI will hold the match on the announced dates and the venues are already out except the playoffs and final.

Cummins, head, starc and hazlewood are 4 main players. Last 2 guys looks dicey to me due to WTC schedule, also Hazlewood had some fitness issue although he was fit to play but you can't take a risk so I think he would prefer resting a bit before the WTC final and it makes sense. I would be surprise if he joins RCB.

In 2022 Australian team was on tour to Pakistan and CA gave NOC to players for IPL 2022 after that tour was over, that's why some of there key players missed first half of IPL 2022. WTC is an important event for CA and they would like to go with there full strength squad for that mega event. Likewise SA will also be looking to win that event and will also be going with full force. Final of IPL is on 3rd Jun while WTC final will  start from 11 Jun, in few days things will be clear that whether players are given NOC to play IPL till 3rd Jun or they have to report for WTC before that.

Few days misery create serious mess-up for IPL with things are looking not problematic but still few players from Australia and South Africa are going to be had problem with this which could be settled because as Cricket Australia already give their statement about this.

Cricket schedule is going to be tougher for players like soccer players where many voices already rising for players and their workload here need to work on this because this could be better for all stakeholders. Here cricket Australia is always ahead of all boards because they never let down their players in any situation while many boards never have mindset like this which is not good deal cricket Australia learn how to do things and rule cricket with their strategy, performance and quality.
