But in today's match, even that was not enough to win. Moreover, Delhi batting was more lively than Punjab. They secured the victory with a few balls to spare. I think the toss played a crucial role in this match. Delhi Capitals surprised everyone in the final match by defeating Punjab Kings, but sadly, Delhi Capitals were eliminated from the playoffs long ago. Yes Delhi Capitals performed well in the beginning of this tournament, but could not maintain consistency towards the end. Delhi Capitals won 6 out of the first 8 matches, but won only 1 out of the last 6 matches. However, Delhi Capitals had a chance to qualify, if they had won against Mumbai Indians, Delhi Capitals would have secured the playoffs. However, Delhi Capitals' batting line-up was very good yesterday, resulting in a win. Every Delhi Capitals batsman has performed brilliantly, especially Sameer Rizvi has performed brilliantly and he has been dismissed for 58 off 25 balls.

Regarding Vipraj Nigam, he's quality all rounder, if you check history of all matches he's played, he's done fine job — handy as batter down the order and has mostly bowled at good economy rate (where even mainstream bowlers went plenty), and took wickets.

On note, In 4th match this season against LSG where we saw one of best IPL chases, aside from Ashutosh he was main reason why DC pulled off the chase.

But yesterday again he put up a good show. He was the main achitech of the Delhi Capitals win, along with Sameer Rizvi. Both these batsmen rescued Capitals, after they got reduced to 93/3. Rizvi managed to get his half-century, but Nair got out at 44, and ended this season with a total of 198 runs from 8 matches, at the strike rate of 172.17.

Delhi Capitals batted really well to chase the target of over 200 runs. KL Rahul and Faf du Plessis started the innings well, making a 55 runs partnership between them. The batsmen remained focused and kept the run rate under control. You can see Karun Nair making 44 runs in only 27 balls while Sameer Rizvi making an unbeaten 58 runs in only 25 balls. DC also kept wickets in hand while scoring above the required run rate. Anyhow, its the end of the journey for them in this IPL. They finished 5th on the points table.

Delhi Capitals need to have some stability and experience in their lineup. Karun Nair was included in the XI after a few matches and he lighted up the stadium with a magnificent 89 against a bowling attack that consisted of Jasprit Bumrah, Trent Boult, Deepak Chahar, Hardik Pandya and Mitchell Santner. But he was not given enough opportunities and was dropped after a few matches. Instead of Nair, they included noobs such as Sameer Rizvi and Vipraj Nigam, who have been out of form for quite some time.
