Today's match was really unbelievable, I thought maybe Kolkata Knight Riders would win the match today, but their game was very bad. This is the first time Kolkata Knight Riders have given such a low target in IPL, this is one of the worst batting performances this year. Targeting only 116 runs, KKR's performance today was not good at all, their batting was the worst, as a result they could not increase the runs. However, Mumbai Indians' bowling was amazing and they also performed well in batting, they were able to meet the target of only 116 runs very easily. Mumbai Indians won today's match by 8 wickets, they won their first match of this year's IPL by defeating Kolkata Knight Riders.

Yesterday Mumbai Indians won the toss and opted to bowl which was the right decision. The Mumbai bowlers bowled aggressively at the start and put the Kolkata batsmen under pressure. Kolkata's two opening batsmen did not perform well, Quinton de Kock was dismissed for 1 run and Sunil Narine was dismissed for 0 runs, which put Kolkata under a lot of pressure here. None of Kolkata's batsmen could play big innings, which was not expected. In the end, Kolkata were all out for 116 runs, which was a very small target. Now the bowlers of Mumbai Indians have to be praised, especially Ashwani Kumar who bowled brilliantly and took 4 wickets alone. In the end Mumbai Indians won and got their first win yesterday.

Ryan Rickelton scored 62 runs and Suryakumar Yadav scored 27 runs in just 9 balls.

Mumbai's bowlers performed very well in this match. That is why Kolkata could not give a big target. Especially Ashwani Kumar took 4 wickets in 3 overs and each wicket was important. Also, the bowling of Boult, Santner and Pandya was excellent.

I had expected Kolkata to win this match. Mumbai's performance had been disappointing and Kolkata is used to staying on the upper half of the table in almost all of IPL. But the star players Quinton de Kock and Sunil Narine were out for 1 and zero respectably. They also had a few promising local players but they too failed to perform in this match as well. They made mere 116 which is an undefendable target in T20. Chasing such small target was easy for Mumbai and they did it without resisting and finished it as quick as they could. I still think Kolkata is a better team than Mumbai and its still too early for the table to take form. After each team has played 9 games, we could start guessing about the rankings.

For me this is not decent target because in this season things are favorable for batsmen and mostly teams are having 190 to 200 which are much better to defend in today game PBKS bowlers done good job at in few overs Arshdeep Singh and Marco Jansen were at the top which restricted LSG.

He's usually good in IPL and bad in t-20 international. Decent in ODI and exceptional in tests.

Earlier selectors were picking him in T20I because of x factor but he failed to utilise all the chances, he was given a huge rope. next T20 wc is in subcontinent, he had slight chance of making into squad but after such form in Indian grounds his name won't come in any discussion.

I would argue that BCCI snubbing Iyer and Kishan off from contract was a nice wakeup call for everyone. I also feel that during that time he was taking everything casually and wasn't doing the hard yards to improve his game as he was sure shot in the test playing XI.

Message to player is don't take Indian cap for granted as competition is tough and backup players are on waiting list.
