Manchester City have a really tight fixture lately. They have another PL match to play in 2 days and only 3 days after that one they are going to play the first leg in the Champions League. Guardiola has a really tough job to do truthfully. Because they are in a fierce fight for the PL title on the other hand. He can't just do a big rotation as a result.

De Bruyne and Haaland were rested in the Aston Villa match. However Haaland's rest might have a different reason. His form has dropped a lot lately as you know. 

I really wonder who we will see there in the first leg, Haaland or Alvarez?

I do agree that it is going to be pretty tough for City without a doubt, we are talking about players who were on a break, then played many games back to back, all of that tires players out a lot and that should be something to worry for them.

I believe that we are going to see City end up crumbling down eventually, that's going to take a bit of a time and should be very important in the end. I am not saying that it is going to be something that will take all of their power out of them, of course they will still be a good team, but they wouldn't be that dominant force that we have seen last year, that is why I believe that we are going to end up with something that could be this hard to handle, they should be having some troubles.

Yes, I can see Real Madrid players are actually going to have a good rest before both the legs.
When they will go against Manchester City in the first leg they will have almost 9 days of rest.
And when they will go against Manchester City on the second leg, they will have 4 days of rest.

On the other hand Manchester City is not going to have that kind of luxury.

Xavi Alonso made a good decision to stay in the team to make himself and the team worthy of the Champions League they qualified to play next season.

Real Madrid will try to apply the tactics used by Arsenal to beat City. But I'm sure City will also learn from the draw against Arsenal and they will try to cover those weaknesses. Pep is a genius coach. Maybe he couldn't dismantle Arsenal's tactics in that match but he wouldn't be trapped by the same tactics. So I don't think Madrid can copy Arsenal's tactics to stop City. It's  fine to disagree, besides I made mention of their fast game  they seem to be pretty good with it but Pep learned a lot in his first  defeat against  Real Madrid in Champions league 2022 , he would have noticed that  real madrid has a tactic of playing offside along with fast attack  and the only way to counter this is by possessing the ball ( Mancity  is pretty good with possession), besides this was the way they defeated  them last season.  Although  this year they now have a new finisher and some good mield fields probably  things would have changed a little , so I see them winning only by luck From my side

This is certainly the match I wasn’t expecting now but until later stages like Semi final or Final but here we have it. The both clubs are my pick to win the champions league, so anyone winning this encounter will go on to win to the final. But before then my assessment of the team is:

Madrid overall look better than they were last season they look like they play more freely this season and that sort of confidence could make them beat just any one. There short coming this season as however been without a recognized striker which we all know at stages like this you need to maybe a heroic. We saw the last time they beat city, Benzema was at the center of everything.

As for Manchester city they have actually dropped in performance this season and I think they will have to up their game to beat Madrid. The worst is they have a very long list of injured senior players which if they don’t hope some players resume they will have a mountain to climb. Another big advantage to Manchester city again is the fact that the second leg will be played at Etihad.
