I would love to know in your opinion what you think about the changes? For me, i do not like the changes this is because a team can be called a champion if they face their nemesis. This current format has kept things this way and have made the league so interesting to watch. Arsenal bs Bayern, Real Madrid vs Manchester City to mention a few playing against each other in the quarter finals which is what we as the fans would want. Any one them who is a true champion will win and lift the title. It is a fight for the champions and not a fight for equals. Let the weak teams be eliminated and the survivors should fight to be the champions.

Honestly it looks like the new format is turning this tournament into a different one rather than the Champions League. Some European leagues already have a big quota in the current system. As of the new format we are likely to see some more unrelated teams having a chance as well. This might drop the quality of the tournament maybe.

I absolutely like the group stage format the most.    I'm saying it even before the new format starts being used because we have the knowledge of how it is going to work. There is no need to change the one which is already loved. But sometimes FIFA or UEFA like to try this kind of changes anyway.
