I agree with you. If you have a very productive striker like Icardi your priority should always be to do your best to keep him. There is no need to take a risk if you can sign the same striker back.

If this deal didn't happen Galatasaray were going to go for Luka Jovic from Fiorentina. Most probably he would have cost them lower than Icardi about his salary and transfer fee both. But there would have been a question mark about Jovic to make the same contribution Icardi made. I think Edin Dzeko will have problems in the intense match tempo and this will create some negativities for Fernerbahçe.
