I don't think he'll fully transition to boxing but I agree that he's a bigger draw now. I'm pretty sure Wilder's team wants a piece too specially after some fans said Francis did better than him.

I'm not sure Tyson will want it again or not anytime soon.

Fury would probably want to do it again since the result was the perfect set up for a rematch. The prospect of regaining his reputation from winning dominantly and getting more money from that is too good to pass up.

@hilariousandco. I am presently eating the words that I have spoken before hehehe. Francis has made everyone witness that he can also be a technical boxer. This was enough to get an arguable split decision. I am quite certain many fans saw this as victory for Francis, however, a loss by split decsion is much better than being carried out of the ring on a stretcher, this was my prediction hehehe.

In any case, what is everyone's prediction on Tyson Fury vs. Usyk after witnessing Fury vs. Ngannou?

I think almost nobody thought that Ngannou was able to keep close against Fury and only lost via split decision. Fury probably underestimated him a bit but if a rematch would happen, I am pretty sure that Fury would win again. The same for the fight of Uysk vs Fury, my money is and will always be on Fury. He can take a hit but can also deliver one.

I certainly hope there is a rematch because Ngannou still has a lot of room for improvement. Either Fury is really starting to decline, or he didn't take this match seriously enough, or was just scared of Ngannou's power. He didn't look his best. If he is better prepared in a rematch it will be a really explosive fight but if he takes it lightly again his vulnerabilities, which were exposed again tonight, will lead to him getting knocked out cold.

Tyson Fury might have taken him lightly and it looked like he gassed out as well, it was definitely one hell of a performance by Francis as it was expected to be a cake walk for Fury when the fight was announced.

What a fight! Ngannou did WAY better than i thought he would, it was a really close fight, i would even say he won.. I really think if he wants to, he could probably go full time boxing. With more experience and training he could become a real force in the sport. As for Fury fighting Usyk, i have my doubts about that one now.

Will be interesting though for Francis vs Joshua. I think that will be an even 50/50 fight or maybe Francis will have a puncher's chance as Joshua doesn't have the chin and recuperation of a Tyson Fury.

After what we've seen people will be interested in how he will perform against the likes of Wilder, Joshua, or Whang Zilei he has become a threat to anybody now because of what he did against Fury, not every top heavyweight can score a knockdown against Fury, whether he continues to box or go back to MMA he has a very good future but I'm sure he will to go back to UFC he has proven that he can take it on his own without UFC.

Many have thought Ngannou's career would be over after he parted ways with UFC but things turned out to be better for him, he has just shown that he has a good future in boxing and he can conquer two territories, people will be interested in what path Ngannou will take now.

The third round was a statement for all the negativity surrounding the match up when all the pundits preached that Tyson Fury will mop the floor against Francis Ngannou. He won the 2nd, 3rd and 4th round and then won the 8th and 10th round and the biggest puncher was Francis Ngannou and the face of Tyson Fury says everything about this fight.

Francis Ngannou can stick to boxing and make a fortune with the way he performed against Tyson Fury and i wonder whether the rest of the boxers like Deontay Wilder, Anthony Joshua, Dillian Whyte will be willing to fight Ngannou after this performance  .

From what I read about the fight, I can assume that the victory should have been awarded to Ngannou: in my opinion, the activity + knockdown of the opponent cannot be “outweighed” by the accuracy of the blows and other statistical nonsense.

Man, it took me hours to comment on this thread because I was still trying to understand what the hell happened in this fight, looking at the physiques of the two athletes, it was clear that Tyson Fury was very out of shape, the guy was fat and he understood that very well, on the other hand On the other hand, Francis Ngannou was in good physical shape, and when I watched the fight, all I was seeing was Tyson Fury taking Ngannou's body that I even thought Tyson Fury wanted to fight MMA and not boxing, because what he was doing it was more similar to UFC fights, while Ngannou was behaving like a real boxer, but even with Ngannou's good performance in my opinion

Francis is my winner, the fight was judged in Fury's favor to make sure that the fight between Fury and Usyk maintained the hype. It would have been bad for Marketing if Francis defeated a big champion in boxing on his debut. But it was very obvious who the winner was meant to be, It was meant to be in the favor of the aggressor who was undoubtedly the underrated Francis Ngannou.

Happy that Francis has earned enough financial reward ($10million) for his bravery and courage to have his first boxing match with one of the best in the ring, and also earned the respect of everyone including Fury.

Everyone will automatically make assumptions as Fury as the heavy favourite to win the fight simply because boxing is his field and he is the HW champ against Ngannou who just about to have his first professional boxing match. So, that explains why.
But then again, Ngannou stunned Fury when he knocked him down. Clearly, Fury underestimated Ngannou that he didn't prepared much for this fight as he is a bit out of shape compared to his previous fights. It could be embarrassing for a HW champ to lose on someone who just had his first boxing match. So, again, I understand why the outcome, but Ngannou deserved a win for this fight.

Saving, boxing reputation in a shameful and irrational manner that's laughable if that's the point. Saving boxing reputation should be that He fury would have  done that in the ring proven why he's a gypsy king undefeated in the world and not through the way the judges handled the decision depleting our interest to boxing as boxing fans.

With this what would be the motivation for another MMA fighter to rise up to a challenge in the future in the boxing ring if he's unsure he will be giving victory even after dropping valuable punches against his opponent just because he's a  champion and shouldn't be denied of it.

From the viewers view, we all know the winner of the match. What happened to the loser losing, isn't a concern. Underestimation doesn't exist in fighting. Maybe Ngannou didn't prepare his best as well. He would have launched more TKO on Fury. Good he targeted his ear well, the fall was fun. Coupled with the dance steps. These are what makes these events good to watch.  As for results, we'd know from Ngannou's subsequent matches as he advances in boxing. Or gain the favoritism of the judges. None of us work as the judges, we take the results, as they decide. Unfortunately, but fortunate, I didn't pay to watch the live match. I would have been disappointed to take a fabricated result, after watching the efforts of Ngannou in spicing up the game. And making viewers feel a worth of their money. He did a good job! Looking from your angle of thoughts, I'd say that if it were judged that way, isn't UFC a close relative to boxing. A lot happening behind the scene. Especially in gambling.

Haha, it definitely seemed like a roberry because Ngannou had Fury knocked down and continued to compete in the later rounds. But the fact that the scorecard was so close suggests that Fury managed to stage a slow comeback, and Ngannou may have become somewhat predictable.

It would be a real shame for Fury if he were to lose that fight. Not only would he lose his reputation, but he'd also miss out on the opportunity to make big money again, especially since he had a fight scheduled against Usyk. Though that match could still happen because Ngannou vs. Fury wasn't for a title, the excitement around a unification fight might take a hit.

My observations from the match is that Fury was ring rusty and underestimated his opponent. Fury was uncharacteristically running out of steam and his normal fluid movement for such a giant was not there. For most of this dire fight Fury was limited to a tired jab and he sustained far more damage than against Wilder. I would expect Uysk to be a better opponent for Fury who he could dominate with his size even at half pace, but if he turns up in this form, Uysk will win.

If it was a draw the world would see it as an exhibition. Let it be that way for the people to know it's Francis who won the fight but on record it's Fury.  Of course, there will be a lot of noise, and will be talked about for years.

We can see the frustration on Francis' face when the referee raises the hand of Fury. He sure himself he won the fight and scored in all rounds and he made significant shots in the entire fight.

The refusal to deny Francis Ngannou his winning in the match against Tyson Fury last night was a clear robbery if you ask me and a way to tell the world that there's deep corruption in the boxing world. It was a clear win but I think the match promoters didn't want it to go Ngannou's way probably because of the amount of money they'll lose if Ngannou defeats Fury.

I agree with @hilariousandco that Francis Ngannou will be professional in boxing in the future because from what he presented yesterday against Tyson Fury who is champion it could be said to be perfect fight.
I thought that the fight would end by TKO but it didn't and they were able to survive until round 10.
It was amazing their fight even though it didn't match predictions but was great for Francis Ngannou.
