Tapales was lucky enough to rid of Murodjon Akhmadaliev because the latter's camp hasn't had the idea to bring up a rematch clause before they draw and signed the contract of their fight. That gives me some though that perhaps it wasn't an honest mistake made by the team because they were the champion, and it was big hole that they didn't fill and so I think that they might've underestimated Tapales hence why there wasn't a rematch clause.

Perhaps they underestimated Tapales, assuming their fighter would easily defeat the challenger. However, the outcome was quite different—a closely contested match that ended in an upset. Now, Tapales holds the championship title and has an opportunity to prove himself against a terrifying opponent, a true warrior with a dominant track record. It's a big challenge for him as a boxer, but that's the nature of their profession. Boxers strive to face the best in order to become the best.

Strive to keep that hype and continue to stay at the top of the mountain,

Something that each fighter wanted to have during the peak of their careers. We are seeing that from how Inoue's trying
to unify another division and maybe, if still possible, to move to another division and try to duplicate the same achievements
that he got from the past division he went thru.

Don't worry mate, it's not a disrespect if we're not saying these things to him face to face because we aren't even that close to him to begin with.
But since we are here to weigh the chances and to choose a much better option for our bets regardless of which boxer we support, it's somehow evident that Tapales's chance is quite lower compared to Inoue who have been dominating every boxer he has faced and Tapales will not be an exemption, and just like the others, he will be a stepping stone for Inoue.

And just to add up, Inoue is surely the heavy favorite here, and that's not disrespecting anyone but it's according to data though Tapales
might have more belts in this division than Inoue,

But the winning chance and the way of finishing the fight will side to Inoue, though as always, boxing is not exempted from those unusual outcomes.

Upset may take place as both fighters will have their time to train and to scout their opponents we never know
what Tapales camps will execute during the fight that might surprise and upset Inoue.. Just saying..

Both of them have the same amount of belts, Inoue holds the WBC and WBO while Tapales holds the other two, which is WBC and IBF.

Although, judging both fighters by how they claimed those said belts against their former opponent, Inoue had the amazing one because he defeated Fulton by a way of knockout which was believed as the more stronger compared to Akhmadallev while Tapales defeated Akhmadallev by a split decision. So, we can already say that Inoue truly have an edge in this fight even if we will forget their past five fights before they became a champion.

Could be equal though, I mean Tapales was the underdog against Akhmadallev and no one even give him a chance to win.
But look at what he do, he outsmart and out think Akhmadallev in their fight that Akhmadallev wasn't able to recover mentally.
And he wanted a rematch against Tapales because he was shook, but Tapales has bigger fish to catch and that is Naoya Inoue.
Nevertheless we really don't know if he can do it, to make another upset, and Tapales win here, it could really be the biggest upset of the year.

Tapales was lucky enough to rid of Murodjon Akhmadaliev because the latter's camp hasn't had the idea to bring up a rematch clause before they draw and signed the contract of their fight. Yes, most likely this is the case for the camp of Murodjon Akhmadaliev.
They have been the champion and to be honest, we really haven't heard of Marlon Tapales before.
It was all Nonito Donaire and Casimero and other Filipino at 118-122 lbs, and Marlon is just climbing up.
But it was a total surprised when Marlon pull one of the biggest upset when he beat a tough Murodjon Akhmadaliev, outboxing him very clearly and the judge was right about the score.
Now Murodjon Akhmadaliev camp is going to figure it out on how to become a champion again and probably not make the same mistakes.

If Tapales beats Inoue it will go down in history as the biggest upset in boxing, bigger than Douglas upsetting Mike Tyson, This fight carries a lot of pressure for Tapales at this point of Inoue's career he is invincible and keeps getting better I believe he is not yet at the peak of his power and speed, and it's hard to stop Inoue's train from moving there is no fighter in the super bantamweight that can beat him and Inoue wants challenge so I'm sure after this fight he'll go for Featherweight where there a lot of great champions to challenge.
I just hope Tapales offers good resistance I don't expect too much from Tapales but a good resistance and hopefully he can expose Inoue's weakness.

It was one of the biggest upset in boxing history as Murodjon Akhmadaliev is the heavy favorite to win that WBA/IBF unification fight but one thing good that Marlon Tapales did was adjusting his style on the fly and Akhmadaliev seems failed to adjust thus losing the fight.

Marlon Tapales was nobody before the fight Akhmadaliev and winning the fight against the latter was his big ticket for the unification of the 4 belts so i think the camp of Inoue should compensate him what is due for him as this could be the biggest fight of his career and of course the biggest payday if he will be paid justly.

I agree, as this point, we really don't know if someone can beat Inoue specially at this weight class. He has proven himself at 118 already. And so moving up in weight and then beating a great champion in Fulton with a knockout, that's really impressive of him.

For Tapales, I als do agree with @bisdak40, he was a nobody, not even some Filipinos who follow boxing might have known his name. It was just when he beat Murodjon Akhmadaliev, a fighter that is in line with Inoue and some says that he has a chance to beat the Monster. But Tapales out pointed him in their fight that no one really saw it.

Yeah, imagine asking a Filipino boxing fan and not knowing Marlon Tapales. I actually experienced it here with my neighbors, they don't know who Tapales is. I mean I understand, he ain't like the superstar of the Super Bantamweight division until a path to being a champion opened up for him.

Regarding the far odds of the two boxers that will clash in November, even if Naoya Inoue is the favorite he should be careful with Tapales.
He is now training in the US and I bet his preparation will be intense considering how dominant Inoue is. They have to increase the chance of him winning this fight and try to unify all the titles. Maybe that way the Filipino boxing fans will turn their eyes on him.

Tapales, accompanied by his esteemed trainer Ernel Fontanilla, is ready to embark on an intensive training regimen at the Knucklehead Gym in Las Vegas. Together, Tapales and Fontanilla will leave no stone unturned as they focus on honing Tapales' skills and devising a strategic game plan to overcome the formidable challenge posed by Inoue.
I am really curious what the game plan will be. It's not easy to find Inoue's weakness. Maybe they should also try playing the tape of his first fight against the Flash Nonito Donaire. Just one minor error on Inoue's will give them the opportunity to defeat him.

To be honest, I didn't cared that much when I heard that a Filipino boxer was challenging the champion at 122 because when I figured out that it was Tapales, I thought that this is just an ordinary challenge made just to keep the champion warm and so I haven't had the confidence to side with him because his record is not that great to begin with.

But to my surprise, Marlon Tapales proved to the community that he wasn't that weak and even shocked the whole world when he upsets the then champion. So now, I understand when he still have the guts to confront Inoue because of what he experienced. We don't know what will happen but according to the datum, Inoue have the edge and there's no doubt about that.

Not just Filipinos but I think every true boxing fans wasn't aware of Marlon Tapales until he shock us with that huge win and upset the then second best rank in the 122 lbs, Fulton obviously is the best that time.

Thanks for the update, it's weird that he is going to the US though to train and then goes to Japan for the fight. I thought they will do their camp in the Philippines since it's closest to Japan. But it could be true that they don't want to leave no stone unturned and probably will work out with several good sparring partners to prepare Tapales for another upset journey.

I think there are more great gyms in the US, and perhaps his trainers chose the place they believe would help Tapales improve for the biggest fight of his career. I can't imagine Tapales winning here, and I mean no disrespect, but his boxing skills are not on par with Inoue's. Therefore, it would be a shock to the world if he were to upset another champion.

I'm not sure what the strategy is, but let's find out in the actual fight. For now, he just has to ensure that he is 100% ready when facing the monster, and he isn't called the monster for nothing.

Quote

Not just Filipinos but I think every true boxing fans wasn't aware of Marlon Tapales until he shock us with that huge win and upset the then second best rank in the 122 lbs, Fulton obviously is the best that time.
Ain't gonna lie, I seriously don't know who Marlon Tapales was either, until he suddenly came up and defeated Akhmadaliev. After that, I got curious about him and looked him through because how did this man skated under the radar without us knowing who he was Grin

The most probable reason I see why they chose to set up a training camp in US rather than in his own country is because of the fact that he will be outside of his comfortable zone and prepare harder for the fight without any obstruction. Regarding about this, we can already tell how serious he is in this fight and he knows his chances well that is why he doesn't want to take any chances because this fight is a one in a lifetime chance and not every Filipino boxer can participate in an undisputed fight.

It's truly a mystery if who can crack Naoya Inoue open because apart from his prowess, his jaw seems to be as hard as his punches. And at 118, he did already show that he was really unstoppable and seeing how he beat Fulton on his debut at 122, it's hard for me to say that there will be someone that who can crack him open in this weight class. Not to underestimate but I don't think that Tapales is the man who can do it.

Being honest is good, even though Tapales is our very own, it's hard to be biased. Inoue is the better fighter, and most likely, he will win the fight. His camp is probably already planning for his next fight, as Tapales doesn't possess the killer instinct that could trouble Inoue in the ring. Our best chance now to witness a great fight is if Inoue vs. Casimero happens. It might not seem as interesting in terms of what's at stake for Inoue, as he would be a unified champion by then. However, in terms of pure competition, I think that's what we're hoping for.

All will be witnessed in time of the fight, and like what you said, the winning chance for Tapales is really by far compared with the chance for Inoue. He's been known as the Monster, as we all witness the way he beats his opponents.

Preparations and more on mental awareness, Tapales needs to find that strategy to stay up and possibly
to end the fight close or if by fate wins it and earn they all the respects around this sport.

Inoue was the good fighter compared to the Tapales,So Tapales had less chance of the win.Inoue the Japanese fighter not like to finish the opponent in the ring,So their is no problem for the Tapales.Tapales not be killed by the strongest boxer of the league Naoya Inoue was the youngest and the strongest fighter against the Tapales.Because the boxing community had the name for Inoue as The Monster, hope we don’t forgot the fight of Inoue vs Fulton.Inoue had played till eight round Knockout to win the title. So Tapales agreed the verbal statement to fight with the Monster Inoue in the ring and Inoue had more chance in this fight. So their will be another chance for the Inoue to win against the Tapales in the ring.

Naoya Inoue was the youngest and the strongest fighter against the Tapales.

Perhaps stronger, but in terms of age comparison, Tapales is only one year older than Inoue, so it's not a significant difference. I hope to see an intense battle unlike Inoue's recent opponents who struggled to keep up with him. They often focused solely on their defense to survive, but they still got caught in the later rounds, and their strategy didn't work. I'd like to see Tapales taking the initiative and attacking early, which would show he isn't afraid of Inoue's power. If Inoue's usual shots have less effect on Tapales, it might dent his confidence a bit, making the fight last longer.

I'm hoping that it will happen though, Casimero should've picked a better opponent that he could fight before this year ends as he needed a much better tune-up bout because who knows, he might be picked as Inoue's mandatory challenger after the fight and yet, he's just fighting boxers that aren't really in the competition.

He should know better because if his dream fight is against Inoue then he should at least make some hype for himself because if there's nothing going on around, I'm afraid that the organizers as well as Inoue's camp might just skip him because there's no benefit in having him at all.

This is Inoue's division for now (122lbs) and we should taper down our expectations on Tapales because the chance is very slim for him to win this fight. Casimero's chance on landing a fight with Inoue is if he became a mandatory challenger on one of the belts but he should also be winning his every fight convincingly so the boxing community would glamour to see that Casimero vs Inoue fight to happen.

I saw an article yesterday stating that Inoue wants to fight Casimero, but the latter should agree to undergo random drug testing. Perhaps they are aware that Casimero has the power to defeat their champion, and if Casimero agrees to this condition, then I believe the negotiation would be easier. This is the first time I've read that Inoue is asking for a drug test from his opponent. Usually, he's the one asked to undergo a drug test because of his power.

That's necessary, though, and he understands it's his only chance to fight Inoue. Being a mandatory challenger would give him the assurance that he will be able to fight the champion. Even before, he kept challenging Inoue, so it's about time he's given a chance, especially since he's not getting any younger. Maybe it's a big satisfaction for him to be able to challenge Inoue before he retires. Still, it depends on the outcome of the fight. If Casimero loses, it could be the end of his journey, but if he wins, big fights are certainly waiting ahead.

What do you think, if Inoue were to fight Casimero, can there be a rematch clause in the contract?

Well, judging the both of their situation, I'd say that Inoue's camp will be the ones to purse a rematch clause because they cannot just be that sure that nothing bad will happen as Filipino boxers are known to be unpredictable at the most unexpected times. But for Casimero, he will not care if there's a rematch clause or not because what's important to him right now is a fight with Inoue and a second fight is already too much too ask.
