This photo has become one of the unforgettable moments from Panathinaikos-Fenerbahçe matches.
Wade Baldwin's last-second basket secured Fenerbahçe's 85-83 away victory against Panathinaikos, allowing them to maintain their lead in the Euroleague. It was a very competitive match. A Panathinaikos victory wouldn't have been a surprise. The game went back and forth between the two teams, and Fenerbahçe emerged victorious.

As expected, Baldwin's game-winning basket was ranked number one in the top ten plays of the week. Mathias Lessort should be penalized. If he isn't, it will go down in history as another EuroLeague disgrace. Baldwin converted an incredible shot at the end of the game and was rightly delighted. He didn't get into an argument with the crowd or any opposing player, nor did he do anything to provoke them. I would understand if Lessort had reacted a little, but I think such an extreme reaction is unacceptable. Also, he doesn't even have a place on the court normally. It's strange that he entered the court in a game he wasn't even on the roster for and attacked an opposing player.

This week we don't have Euroleague as it's time dedicated to national cups in all major leagues. In some places it's Final 4, in others it's Final 8, but anyway,, cups usually brings something interesting. I'm just wondering, will we have cups won by non-Euroleague teams? When I look at Panathinaikos, I wouldn't be surprised if they will be eliminated without reaching final.

Yeah this break will probobly come handy to a lot of teams maybe to rest some players if possible. National cups are always a drag and too many matches in a small period of time. For example in Serbia,teams can only have 4 foreign players so those players will have lots of minutes while other foreign players will rest so it has its advantages and disadvantages.

With how Panathaniakos is playing currently i would be shocked if they got eliminated in this first round. They just lost in their own league against a last place team and something is seriously wrong there.

I watched that game online actually, Kolossos Rhodes played a great game, but obviously there is no excuse for a home loss like this, not when you are are 22 point favorite to win the game.
To be fair to Rhodes, they were not the last place team (Maroussi was 3:14 before the gameday) and before the match they had the same record as 2 other teams, basically tied for 10th-12th place.
Guess the big issue was defense for Pana since their opponents shot 15/30 from 3 and 25/38 from 2. Pana was only close and could have lost by a bigger margin if it wasn't for them having gotten a whopping 35 free throws, compared to 13 for Rhodes.

Fenerbahçe player Melli underwent surgery for a broken foot and will be out for at least 6-8 weeks.
Following Silva and Devin Hall, this injury could disrupt Fenerbahçe's rhythm.
He sustained the injury during the Turkish Cup match against Safiport Erokspor.
This is not good news. It doesn't matter whether it's the Turkish League or the Turkish Cup, Melli's absence will put us in a difficult situation in the Euroleague as well. Hopefully, Fenerbahçe has started its transfer activities.

During the Euroleague break, there were cup matches. Olympiacos and Panathinaikos will face each other in the Greek Cup final.

Yesterday, the semi-final matches of the Turkish Cup were also played.
Beşiktaş defeated Anadolu Efes, one of the most in-form teams in recent weeks, and advanced to the final.
Fenerbahçe, despite some difficulties against Türk Telekom, won thanks to Talen Horton Tucker's outstanding performance and also advanced to the final.

Today is the Greek Cup final. The Turkish Cup final is on Sunday.
Fenerbahçe and Olympiacos are my favorites.

Greek Cup final ended with unexpected easy Panathinaikos win. Considering that how PAO were looking recently and that they lost 5 recent meetings with Oly, this outcome is surprising.
Short summary what's happening across the Europe.
Valencia had everything in their hands, but they choked in the end and 2 3-pointers of Hezonja let real to win semifinal. But we won't get El Clasico as Barca lost to Baskonia in other semifinal.
In Germany Bayern lost Bamberg in last seconds drama and now Bamberg will face Alba in the final.
In France Asvel and Paris were already eliminated in 1/4 finals and now Monaco will face Leman in the final who beat Bourg in last seconds. Biggest upset of the weekend was in Korac cup were Partizan were destroyed by underdog Mega. In final Crvena Zvezda had no problems and got easy wins.
In other cups things is going more or less as expected.

Fenerbahçe Beko defeated Beşiktaş by 17 points and won the Turkish Cup. Tarık Biberovic was named MVP of the final match, scoring 28 points.
Beşiktaş started the game well, scoring points with outside shots and even leading by 9 points at one point, but Fenerbahçe reacted quickly.

Fenerbahçe played excellent defense in the third quarter, holding Beşiktaş to just 14 points.

Watched Copa del Rey final yesterday, and it was probably best game from all cup action across the Europe. Baskonia won final against Real a bit unexpected and when you see how they struggle in recent years, this trophy was needed a lot for them.
So, only country in Europe where cup winner isn't from Euroleague is Germany where Bamberg won final against Alba.

I think Alimpijevic couldn't handle the defeat. Beşiktaş started the game well. They scored well with outside shots, but as the game progressed, their shots stopped going in. Fenerbahçe balanced the game and took control. Beşiktaş played a bit aggressively, and the referees called fouls in those situations. Alimpijevic reacted to these foul calls. He complained that Fenerbahçe scored 31 points from fouls. There's also the anger from losing. Beşiktaş is fighting well, but the difference in quality is huge.

After achieving the Turkish Cup by defeating Beşiktaş we are going on with a Euroleague game finally. Our next opponent is going to be Partizan tomorrow.

This is like one of the easiest games for us this season. We have the best recent form in the tournament now and still keep our lead. I don't expect this to change by the end of Round 29 as well.

By the way I have found some info on stat leaders so far.

In the first game, Partizan fans displayed a ridiculous banner. I hope our fans don't display a similar banner today. I don't like political things getting involved in sports. What happened in the past is over and done with. Our concern is basketball. Fenerbahçe is the big favorite in this game, but I'm still approaching it cautiously.

All games tonight were so close. Fenerbahche got difficult win against Partizan and when you play with Partizan, you don't know what to expect. Sometimes they lose without fight by 30 points, sometimes they play like today.
Zalgiris beats Olympiacos in 2 OT drama. It's first their win against Oly after 9 defeats in a row.
Barca lost to Virtus and probably it can't be called as surprise as it's already 4th their loss in recent 5 Euroleague games. It looked that we will have one more last seconds drama in Belgrade, but strong 4th helped Crvena Zvezda to avoid it in game with Efes.

What a great game in Belgrade and such an important win for Red Star. After two straight losses, they finally bounced back and now they’re sitting in 7. place. I honestly think it can get even better since they’ve got Bayern and Fenerbahçe coming up at home.Those will be tough games for sure, but I believe Red Star have the quality to step up and get the job done. It’s interesting that Butler and Dozier both dropped 21 points, with Dozier having slightly better overall stats. And Nwora once again showed up when it mattered most. All in all, a massive and much-needed win for Red Star

The Zalgiris vs Olympiakos game should have never went into overtime, haha. I mean Pireus is the better team, the had an 11 point lead with like 9 minutes to go and then everything is falling apart for whatever reason. Even in overtime they had solid opportunities to ice the game when they had a 5 point lead, yet they didn't build on it. Quite surprising to see such a good team falling apart that hard!

Nihel Hayes Davis played impressively and scored 27 points.
Nunn was absent from this game due to illness. I think if he had been there, Panathinaikos wouldn't have lost.

Ergin Ataman was ejected from the game. As far as I remember, this was the second time he's been ejected this season. With this loss, Panathinaikos has dropped to 10th place in the standings.

If they continue like this, they won't even make it to the Play-In.

Fenerbahçe struggled to find their rhythm in offense and defense in the first half. After Tucker entered the game, the tempo completely changed.

Although Partisan led slightly at halftime, everything would change in the second half. Jones's three-pointer on the last possession just missed the rim; luck was on Fenerbahçe's side.

Just few days back Pnathinaikos looked completely different when they beat Olympiacos quite easy. Is it Hayes factor? Indeed, their situation is getting worse and worse.
Looks that Baskonia celebrated win in Copa del Rey very heavy. Yesterday they were destroyed by Vlancecia almost by 30 points. This is what I call hangover .

Tucker is a basketball player who has attracted attention in Europe this year. He's not succeeding in the NBA, but he's a very good player for European basketball, like Nigel Hayes Davis.
He also won the Euroleague championship with Fenerbahçe last year, then went to Phoenix in the NBA but wasn't successful there. He returned to Europe.

Tuck is a great asset for Fenerbahçe. He's especially effective in Euroleague games.

I hope he doesn't return to the NBA at the end of the season.

Finally the loooong qualifier weekend is over and we will see some club basketball again. The qualifiers have been fun as well though, Taiwan almost beat China (they lead by 7 with 6 min to go), but unfortunately just almost. My German team also almost just lost both games against Croatia but thankfully they came back late to take the home win in overtime.

Just saw that Hapoel was supposed to play against Paris today, yet it got cancelled due to the shit that's going on right now.
