I'm sharing this because I saw this issue with my kiddo who was once watching me gamble at a website playing blackjack and she started asking me more about the game. Then one day, she wanted to play it herself and asked me if she can go for it and I said "no, it's not your legal age to go for such games". So, it's better to keep our kiddos away from gambling and let them focus on their studies, else it'd actually ruin everything for the whole family if the kid takes the wrong path.

Right now you forbid gambling because of age and support the idea of not gambling in front of kids. But what would be your attitude, if you win a millions? I think you wont hide your happiness, you would shout "YES!" like crazy or something like that, you would change your lifestyle after that. How you gonna explain it your kid? My point is - when we just gamble or lose, than gambling is not for kid, it is illegal, not for your age and etc. But when we win a lot, then "you've said you always wanted alive pink unicorn with giraffe and dinosaurs? here you are, we are rich now, enjoy life, forget about studies".  

But the point is that we can still gamble provided that our kids never see us. Because the moment they see us gambling, they will also gain curiosity and then ask about it. What we did was just to keep our kids away from getting interested in gambling because of what they saw. Of course, we can't hide this forever but we can explain them well when they are capable enough to understand gambling. As long as we still have the chance not to expose gambling to our kids, the better.

At this time if kids get addicted to gambling then their reading will be ruined and later they will start earning in easy way and forget reality. They will realize their laziness towards the fact that they actually have to work hard to earn and they will later choose gambling as an easy process. And if there is a loss then the whole family will be destitute because once the person becomes addicted to gambling it will be difficult to come back. So it is better to teach children education and everyone is better to gamble away from children.

As we discussed previously, the worst impact if minors find out about gambling is that an instant mindset will emerge because minors do not yet have perfect emotional control and are very vulnerable to gambling addiction if one day the child tries to gamble and other negative impacts. Most habits that children are prone to were capture when they were very young and this particular habit tend to stick people it has been practice overtime and it now tend to be an habit that's sticks and these habit is really hard to get rid off.

Yeah, you shouldn't be gambling in front of kids. Kids, especially at a young age, likes to mimic what their parents do. Their minds absorb everything around them and they learn really fast. Your kid, seeing you play blackjack probably seemed like any other fun game she plays or watches you play. She doesn't grasp the financial and psychological implications behind gambling. She doesn't even know that you are playing with real money. It's just the colors, the excitement, and the notion of "winning" and you getting excited that caught her attention. But yeah exposing your kids to gambling can normalize it for them, making them more likely to engage in such activities without understanding the consequences when they grow older. Later this temptation might become an addiction destroying your kids life which you will blame yourself for.

Emotional control and discipline and for sure they would really be thinking about things about making money on the easiest and fastest way.This is why its really that risky if you are really that letting them see on what
you are doing because it would really be influencing them on what are the things that they would might do without letting you know on which you would really be able to realize when its really too late. We know that youth or those young minds would really be that having that easy curiosity in mind on which in the time that they are seeing things around then they would really be definitely be testing out for themselves whether it is good or not but seeing it from your parents then you would really be having that kind of impression that it would really be just that right and something  good to deal with. This is why proper parenting would really be recommended and if you dont like for your childrens to follow up on the same path then it would be wise that you should be teaching them about the real deal about gambling and on why you are doing it.

Kids (if tiny) always repeats what you say or what you do as their parent. So gambling is illegal to anyone under 18 but kids will be very interested. I think we should be all cautious when kids are around. I don't think kids can be that much influenced through sports betting. But kids would love card games and jackpots for sure. Making it a secret to your kid also extends to your wife. For even your wife will think it's fine to spend the money you gave on gambling after all you are gambling.

I have not seen a father or a mother who went to gambling center with its child, and secondly I have not seen someone who proudly says that this particular person is his boss in gambling base on it's the one that teaches him or her how to gamble, so since we have not seen such story before that means it's abomination for a parents to gamble in the presence of his children or child both manually or online gambling, and any parents that done that is irresponsible parents, and it can charge to a law court as a deformation of character, because in any country they have a maximum and minimum age someone can be reach before gambling

What must be must be: if you don't teach your child what is wrong and what's right and how they can also go about those situations, which happen to also be the reality of life, if you hide it from them, they might still end up getting the information from someone else, and the person might even give them the information wrong, which can now become a disadvantage on your own side.

Yup im not letting mine get anywhere near gambling. She has gotten a scratch card a few times for her birthday or for new years and i can see what not winning / expectation of winning with it does. Its just better not to have it till a certain age, not sure what that age is however. Live and learn i guess

Scratch cards are harmless as long as you don't tell her that you paid money to get nothing. Tell her it's a gift and she can get something, or nothing, but it's free. If she gets nothing, you will give her something else. The cards can work the same was a gift does if you explain them the right way.
I agree that we should keep kids away from gambling, but I know people who take it to extremes, not allowing them to play cards at all. It's easy to make a mistake with children and show gambling as the forbidden fruit that only grownups can try.

I agree that its not even feasible to completely remove them from it (because gambling is around us everywhere to be honest, in stores, in commercials, sponsors etc) but i guess the question then comes down to age aswell. When children are exposed to Gambling from an early age,it definitely affects their mentality while growing into becoming adults,some children will believe gambling is the only thing one can do to survive,they have that conception because at an early age,what ever they see their parents doing,they believe it's the best.That is why it doesn't make any sense to make it known to them that gambling has any benefits despite the fact that technology has exposed children to many things,it is just good to make it hidden from them,and if they should know about it,it shouldn't be from their father.

You are correct, it will be difficult to separate your children from the current realities in society.  Gambling adverts are everywhere and the internet is a place where they can learn almost everything about gambling. The best option like you pointed out will be gambling education. You can teach them about responsible gambling and the negative effects of gambling addiction.  They should also know that it is important to focus on their education because gambling can be a great distraction. A student should maximize their time doing profitable things and not gambling. They should also know that dependents have to use the funds at their disposal wisely. But it is also important not to be gambling in their presence, we shouldn't contribute to the pressure they face from society.

It is unethical if a parent gambles in front of his children because his children will try to gamble with their friends too. They think this is an everyday activity, and they will continue to remember it and do it with their friends. This doesn't need to happen if parents can hide their gambling activities in front of their children so they don't have to see what their parents are doing. Apart from that, this may be embedded in the child's memory so that he will remember that his parents like to gamble and look proud. This must be avoided, and children should not follow their parents who like to gamble.
