It’s not a good plan for brand new investor to be keeping money aside with the intention that they will use it to buy aggressively in a dip that they don’t know if it will happen or not. It is better they use that discretionary income and focus on consistent and regular DCA buy to gradually build a strong portfolio.
It's an act of irresponsibility for a brand new investor to be talk about buying the dip when he is way behind in accumulation. What such investor should be doing is what you have already stated very clearly here, which is constant buying and accumulating Bitcoin irrespective of it current price, because at that stage of his investment, building a reasonable stash of Bitcoin should be his greatest concern, not by waiting for a dip that may not come, because if he can be buying consistently without paying attention to the price, in no distance time he will accumulate a reasonable stash of Bitcoin that will position him to be successful with his investment if Bitcoin can go as high as a million dollars or more in the future. What you don't know is bigger than you, why I'm saying this is because most of us that makes posts on this thread knows better than many newbies, perhaps if we were in their shoes we might also be having their mindsets of waiting for dip which we don't know for how long to wait. Although we don't need to have all the Bitcoin network and market knowledge before starting as investors but basic knowledge of what we are talking about here is essentially. Most of us knows that basically what we need to start buying and hoding Bitcoin is discretionary funds and there is no specific or universally accepted amount that we have to start with, even for the low income earners they can buy $5 worth of sat periodically until they can afford to buy more. So if you can afford discretionary funds you can afford to be a Bitcoin investor

I am completely new here. I came here because of my interest in investing in Bitcoin. To be honest, I have already used some money I have to buy some Bitcoins at one time. Now I have no cash outside of my emergency fund but I want to grow my Bitcoin portfolio. So while searching for how to grow my portfolio, which investment method is best for me, I came across this thread. I have read at least ten pages where every user is acknowledging DCA as an important investment method. Yes, I too understand the importance of DCA. Since I have discretionary income on a monthly basis, I will probably follow the DCA method for investing from now on. Since investing in the DCA method will not put a big strain on my finances, I think it will be the best investment method for me. But if I prepare a separate fund to aggressively buy 10% of the amount I will use to invest in Bitcoin when the price drops, will I get a different benefit for growing my portfolio? I think this approach could work for me as well. On the one hand, DCA is being invested in, on the other hand, funds are being created for aggressive buying, perhaps using these funds to add additional Bitcoin to the portfolio when the opportunity arises.
Yes, it can be a good plan. But make sure that you have a healthy emergency fund in the beginning otherwise you will not be able to maintain your Bitcoin portfolio. One more thing to remember is that since you have purchased Bitcoin once and are trying to grow your Bitcoin portfolio, never invest in Bitcoin from your discretionary income. Never use the funds you need to meet your needs for investment. You may think that your emergency fund has been there for a long time and the price of Bitcoin has decreased so you can use it to buy Bitcoin. But we never know when an emergency will arise in people's lives. So be careful and invest in Bitcoin in the right way. Read the opinions of experts. You can follow JJG sir because most of what he has given about investment is the right way to invest. Bluedrem are you seriously giving out bad advice to a beginner or these are just mistakes?. Discretionary income is from where we make our investments, save for our backups and discretionary spend, I think this one might be a mistake from you cos you’ve been here long enough to know this. It’s not compulsory to have a substantial emergency fund at the beginning, because saying he should have a healthy emergency fund may make him want to wait till he has built a sufficient emergency fund before starting. As long as his discretionary income is available he can start buying and building his emergency and other backups alongside.

There is actually nothing wrong with buying the DIP, as long as you are doing it with your discretionary income then you should take advantage of any opportunity that presents itself to you for you to buy more for less, the problem is that people just don't buy the dip, they wait for a DIP to happen first before they buy, because while they are wait for a dip to happen then are missing other buying opportunities that the DCA would have been useful.
You are at point, as long as you are not waiting for the dip happened first and you are buying with your discretionary income there is nothing wrong with it, I think this should be easy for people to understand. The dip is a good buying opportunity because those with much reserve funds or more discretionary income could actually take advantage of the dip and buy more BTC, the only way i condemn the dip is when people start waiting for it as this will actually be useless because they are waiting for what that is not certain to happen. I don't just know I feel so annoying when I see people waiting for the dip because then themselves cannot even specify whether it is going to happen or not, but maintaining your DCA strategy will give you a very smooth and consistent accumulation of Bitcoin. Honestly a lot of people have the ability to take advantage of dip but some people usually have that intention thinking that they can be able to accumulate more, quite right yes but you must have a sufficient income so that you can be able to be building it by not depending on the dip.

Why will you be annoyed on someone's decision and choice that doesn't affect what you do in anyway? and to be honest you are wasting your time feeling annoyed, the only thing you will have to do is Inform or advise them on what is right and then leave them to decide for themselves. Lastly, you don't necessarily need any sufficient income before one can be able to invest or build their portfolio what you need to build or invest is a discrestionary income and this can be gotten from both sufficient and insufficient income depending on your needs or expenses.

The reason why I always got annoyed is because those people claim to be an investor which they are not and that is why they keep on delaying others moreover there are people who are seeking advice from them. Bitcoin investment must be a very long term investment if really that particular person want to be addressed as an investor, because I don't believe a real investor we want to wait for the dip before they can start investing or continue accumulating. I am not saying that you most have a sufficient source of income before you start investing, but when it comes to building a bitcoin portfolio, for someone to realize their discretionary income, it's simply shows that they have to be consistent in building themselves so that their investment can be going without any challenge.

In my opinion everyone has the right to forecast Bitcoin in market price and wait for the optimal entry point. Perhaps some intend to invest a large amount of capital leading them to wait for the perfect moment such as during a bearish market to make their purchase. A DCA strategy is indeed an excellent approach for consistently acquiring smaller incremental amounts of Bitcoin given the current state of the market, it allows for purchases at a relatively stable price point. That said we should also respect the strategies of others who prefer to wait for what they consider the right moment to enter the market.

Many people have the ability to buy bitcoin on dip, but the problem is that it is impossible to know which is the perfect dip. It cannot even be predicted in any way. There is no guarantee that a person will be able to take advantage of a drop in the price of bitcoin. Because sometimes the price of bitcoin does drop, but the person who was waiting to buy bitcoin at a low price keeps waiting even longer in the hope that the price may not drop further. As a result, he does not get the opportunity to buy bitcoin. Because if the price of bitcoin starts rising again, he loses the entire opportunity. But those who do not have discretionary funds should not even think about buying bitcoin on dip with needed money. Because it is very risky. The most important thing for a new bitcoin investor is to first build his bitcoin holdings and improve his cashflow management over time. If you can invest in bitcoin in this systematic way, bitcoin can provide financial security in the long run.

The problem is that the right moment doesn't always exist and it's not easy to find it under any circumstances. While this may sound good for people looking to buy large amounts of Bitcoin, if those people already know about the DCA strategy, they certainly don't need to waste time waiting for it to happen. The best time to start buying is when they are ready for all the conditions and have the capital they can immediately use. And now Bitcoin isn't rising significantly, so anyone who wants to buy a certain amount can do so immediately without hesitation.

But since give Investors the opportunity to buy bitcoin regularly and it helps average out price volatility, I don't think there is a need to reserve extra funds for aggressive buying Beca you can buy more sats using the same amount of money during price dip. And for @bluedrem I think you are confuse about the whole thing and your words are just contradicting each other which makes it meaningless. And someone don't need to have a fully built emergency fund before he can buy bitcoin, if he have his discretionary income available can start accumulating bitcoin and also build an emergency fund at the same time, and you buy bitcoin using only your discretionary income and not with money meant for essential needs.

Well somehow there's no how all brand new investors will invest at the same pace even when using the same strategy. Expecting brand new investors to fire down a tall portfolio in a shortest time may be expecting too much from them for one reason or the other. Brand new investors who are already keeping up to their DCA strategy as per amount, date and other things has every reason to prepare for aggressive buying, going extra mile to prepare gently for aggressive buying will not change their already ongoing DCAing, it becomes unreasonable when these gentle preparation negatively affects their DCAing process as per amount or even date, just any form of negative effects which is highly unnecessary since they can go with their DCA strategy while gently preparing for a aggressive buying.

I wonder why people normally think they need capital to invest in Bitcoin, you only invest Bitcoin with your discretionary income with the amount that you can afford to lose. Their is no perfect entry of when you can invest in bitcoin, you can invest in bitcoin at all time. Waiting for a perfect entry will delay you and this is not how real investors buy bitcoin, it is those who are ignorant but believing they are are doing the right thing. No perfect time to buy bitcoin as far as it is longterm investment.
