I can't completely agree with you. Because if a new person does what he thinks is good, then the possibility of his loss will be much higher and he will sell before the time limit expires. Because a new person does not have enough knowledge or experience to deal with this decline, so the best decision for them may seem to be to sell, which is not the right decision for a person at all. So don't mislead the new people by saying this and don't put the new people at risk. A new person needs to understand himself at this time that the Bitcoin market has risen in the past and the Bitcoin market will rise again after this decline. A new person needs to focus on gaining knowledge from the day he starts investing. If a person has knowledge, then he will definitely be able to gain faith in Bitcoin.

Newbies are those that are still trying to build their BTC stash, and it will be silly of them to begin messing around with just any kind of counterproductive strategy that will delay their ongoing investment. It is needless and uncalled for to tell them to do whatever they want, because what they want could be the wrong thing. A newbie has no business with buying at dip or messing around with any strategy that pops up in their mind. What they need is to get the fuck started with DCA if they have their discretionary income so that they can be able to ongoingly build up their stash, I don't think that there is anything confusing about that.

Keeping money aside with the goal of using it to make aggressive purchases during a dip that they are unsure will occur is not a good strategy for novice investors. To progressively develop a solid portfolio, it is preferable for them to use that discretionary income and concentrate on regular and consistent DCA purchases. Because bitcoin is volatile and you can't predict when or if the dip will happen, there is a trade-off in keeping such idle funds.
As long as you have the money to do so, you can choose to purchase bitcoin aggressively at any market price. You shouldn't wait for a dip to occur because it might or might not occur. All you need to purchase bitcoin is this. Whether you use it aggressively or not, the money you have left over after meeting your basic needs is simply your discretionary income.
This brings on ground the advantage of using DCA strategy whether a newbie or not, keeping some funds aside for aggressive buying while actively DCAing can not be considered as overly waiting for the dip because you are not necessarily waiting for the dip whether old or new, you are just busy building your Bitcoin stash but everly ready to seize the dip as much as possible. Also, it's not all the time that an investor exhaust all their discretionary funds to buy Bitcoin and not all the investors exhaust their discretionary funds. Ordinarily discretionary funds leftover can be used for aggressive buying after meeting your decided DCA target. So intentionally keeping aside funds for aggressive buying if there's a dip is just similar to the unplanned leftovers as long as it doesn't disturb your DCAing. I believe it’s one of the advantages of DCA strategy. Whether you’re newbies or old investors, you can buy bitcoin consistently while keeping some extra funds aside to take advantage of any dip. This doesn’t necessarily mean that you’re waiting for dip before buying because you’re still continuing your DCA. Even after meeting your DCA target any extra discretionary income can serve as an opportunity to buy more. The main thing is to make aggressive buying not to disturb your regular DCA or affect your finances. You seem to be mixing up DCA with buy the dip strategy. They’re not the same because DCA is about regular buying of bitcoin, while “buy the dip strategy involves taking advantage of price drop. There is no rule anywhere that you must combine both strategies, it is just a personal choice to do so. Someone can decide to just stick to only DCA, which is fine. I am not against buying of dip while DCAing, but it should be done occasionally when spare cash is available and a dip present itself. What I am against is you telling newbies to keep money for imaginary dips that may or may not come, when the money can be added to the DCA amount. A newbie should not even be thinking of buying dips. His main focus should be on building that habit of buying bitcoin regularly and consistently.

There are so many reasons why a newbie can just do what they please, and why they will have to stick to the DCA strategy. For a newbie, using the DCA gives you so much comfortability and conveniency with your investment, it allows you to invest with which every amount of discretionary income that is most convenient for you at a particular time. DCA gives you that calmness during a dip, you don’t get to panic because with DCA you will be holding for a long period of time. Above all it is very wrong to wait for a dip before buying bitcoin so long you have your discretionary income available, being a newbie or not.

First off, try to research on what opportunity fund is about and how it falls into my context before concluding that it doesn’t exist. Yes, there are different strategies asides the DCA and most folks might think they're good with any but what strategy is best for a beginner asides the DCA? Newbies would gradually learn things they don't understand along the line including terms they're not familiar with, they mustn't understand everything, that's why Bitcoin investment is a process. However telling people including newbies to do whatever they think is best is not right cause they could wait for dip before buying and think it’s right.

For beginners trying to time the market it really a trap. Two bad things usually happen when new investors hold cash waiting for a dip. The price keeps on rising, and at the end of the day they end up buying higher out of FOMO. Secondly eveb when the price actually drops they get too scared to buy. This we’re DCS fixes this both problems, DCA takes out this emotion out of your decision and it build the discipline that needed to hold for a very long term run.

How does DCA eliminate emotion? DCA supports emotionless buying and encourages regular buying without being influenced by market movements. Emotions come from within a person, it can work in any strategy if the investor cannot control it. But if an investor is committed to the DCA strategy, it is relatively easy for him to control emotions in buying. Don't even consider DCA as a long-term holding strategy. The buying strategy has nothing to do with long-term holding. Someone who is committed to long-term investment can succeed in holding it for the long term even if they buy just once, or an emotional DCA investor may fail to hold it for the long term. So don't misinterpret DCA. DCA is an investment strategy that simplifies buying and helps you stay active with Bitcoin, even if you don't have a lot of money, allowing you to buy in small amounts. DCA also stops you from wasting time.

Perhaps you don't understand what @ Derekfunds said, what he was actually trying to say is that everyone have the right to make decisions in regards to buying the dip so long as it does not affect their finance, I think that's the most important thing. But then saying that each of us have the right to do whatever that pleases us in regards to buying the dip doesn't seem right, there's something every investors need to understand and that is, waiting to buy the dip is not actually a nice strategy but it is good when an investor is buying regularly and maybe on the process of doing that they meets the dip and then they buys; this method is less stressful than waiting to buy the dip that they don't know if it would take two years or more before it will happen.

Keeping aside some money to be used to buy the dip aggressively can be more easier said than done, perhaps we can't make such comparison of buying right away with aggressive as you can and keeping part of the money separately for buying the dip which is better, buying right away is more profound because the dip are not guaranteed to happen. You never can tell when this dip will happen and that leaves the money vulnerable to be used for something else, even if there are those making reservations for buying the dip aggressively, that doesn't mean such decision does not have it's own disadvantage or some sort of trade off when comparing it buying right away without reservations.
Well it's not compulsory that everyone must set money aside to buy during the dip, some folks might be in a better position for that especially when they can generate opportunity funds to seize the opportunity of buying more when dips occurs. The perfect strategy for anyone to use is the DCA and whether they have an opportunity fund or not they'll still reach their target as far as they're investing the rightful way. Moreover if someone is using the DCA for accumulation, chances of buying during the dip at several occasions is high that's why it's not necessary to keep reservations for the buying the dip. Honestly DCA strategy provides an investor with opportunity to always buy the dip without always waiting for the dip, that's why it becomes easier and beautiful to plan aggressive buying to seize the dip not only if there is opportunity funds, but then opportunity funds now becomes a facilitator to aggressive buying during the dip. This happens effortlessly without market pressure and what's your view? Under this condition, the interpretation of the dip is absolutely different from the interpretation by abject dip buyers. As in, the dip is perceived at different intensity and that will mean a DCA strategist who has plans for aggressive buying during the dip will be able to buy the dip while abject dip buyers are still waiting to buy the dip, it's that simple and possible.

I am completely new here. I came here because of my interest in investing in Bitcoin. To be honest, I have already used some money I have to buy some Bitcoins at one time. Now I have no cash outside of my emergency fund but I want to grow my Bitcoin portfolio. So while searching for how to grow my portfolio, which investment method is best for me, I came across this thread. I have read at least ten pages where every user is acknowledging DCA as an important investment method. Yes, I too understand the importance of DCA. Since I have discretionary income on a monthly basis, I will probably follow the DCA method for investing from now on. Since investing in the DCA method will not put a big strain on my finances, I think it will be the best investment method for me. But if I prepare a separate fund to aggressively buy 10% of the amount I will use to invest in Bitcoin when the price drops, will I get a different benefit for growing my portfolio? I think this approach could work for me as well. On the one hand, DCA is being invested in, on the other hand, funds are being created for aggressive buying, perhaps using these funds to add additional Bitcoin to the portfolio when the opportunity arises.
For beginners- the best approach to invest in Bitcoin is the DCA (Dollar Cost Averaging) method. This method eliminates the need for extensive thought. You do not have to worry about whether the market price of Bitcoin is high or low at any given moment. Instead, your portfolio grows gradually over time. By using the DCA method, you invest in Bitcoin across various market price levels, which allow you to achieve an average purchase price. As you may have already gathered from reading through this thread, many participants here, especially those with more experience advocate for the DCA approach, particularly for new investors. Before you begin your investment journey, there is one crucial point to keep in mind- the security of your Bitcoin. You must ensure that the Bitcoin you accumulate over time is properly protected. Furthermore, life often presents various challenges. You should aim to avoid a situation where you are forced to sell your Bitcoin to cover expenses. To prevent this, it is essential to maintain an emergency fund to handle uncertain or unforeseen circumstances. Once these foundations are in place, you can set aside additional funds for more aggressive Bitcoin purchases ensuring, of course that this capital comes from your discretionary income. Additionally, this thread is home to many knowledgeable and experienced individual. Pay close attention to the posts by 'JJG' and try to apply those insights in practice. I wish you every success.

There is so much that has to do with waiting to buy the dip, so many things to be worried about. People who wait for the dip are not only scared to buy when the price of Bitcoin is increasing, but sometimes they are scared of some dips. They are not just interested in buying the dip, but there is a particular dip that they are more interested in for buying Bitcoin. When you are focusing just on buying Bitcoin, the price of when to buy Bitcoin won't be a problem; you just buy at all times when you can afford to buy.

A newbie investor should rather focus on building a huge stash of Bitcoin that can position him to be successful when Bitcoin has risen to a million dollars or more than waiting for a dip that will only delay his accumulation process.

Let not make this about just newbies but for all users, so long you intend to invest and not to trade, it very wrong to hold up discretionary income all in the name of waiting for the dip. Bitcoin investing is all about constant accumulation and holding for a long period of time till you reach your desired target. For every persons it best to invest with using the DCA, which is just about having constant discretionary income and constant buying. Waiting for the dip will only waste your time, so long bitcoin remains volatile buying the dip will never benefit investors. People have wait for the dip and at the long run they end up spending the money they intend to use to buy bitcoin for another thing.

Newbies tend to be distracted when they try to combine DCA with setting cash aside to buy dips, it is better they just focus on consistent buying and holding. Trying to keep funds aside when you don't even have a good bitcoin stash doesn't make much sense, it would make the newbie investor not taking their DCA buys very seriously and being very whimpy in their purchases. Your bitcoin investment needs every seriousness and priority it can receive and new investors would be better off when they maintain as much aggressiveness they can without overdoing it in their bitcoin buys. If the person gets used to keeping funds aside and the dip he's targeting doesn't come in a long time, the person would have missed nice buying opportunities for as long as they've been stacking cash and their portfolio would not be growing properly. It is better to prioritize healthy growth of your portfolio with consistent good purchases over preparation for a dip that may or may not end up happening

The fact that everyone is saying and giving different opinion concerning the case of buying during dip is going to get newbie confuse here and some won't know what to pick anymore and of this note, I will indulge everyone to do whatever that seems right and please them and that it is inline with their discretionary income. There is nothing like opportunity funds dude, talking about opportunity funds will add more confusion in the midst of newbie because they are not familiar with that term.
There is no need to experiment with different strategies at the beginning. The first goal should be to develop a simple, realistic and consistent habit. If they wait for the price to drop at the beginning. And sometimes change the strategy according to the advice of others. Then there is a risk of losing the continuity of investment. It is necessary to have at least a basic idea about the mental preparation for long-term investment. After considering your own income, and urgent financial needs and ability to take risks, determine the appropriate amount for investment. Therefore, no complex strategy should be applied at first. It is reasonable to focus on investment discipline, risk control and consistency.

I believe that understanding the other available strategy options can also still help them to make informed decisions most often rather than only adopting the first strategy that someone recommended to them which in most cases is DCA. I’ve said it multiple times that DCA is only but a strategy, it is not a prerequisite for becoming a disciplined Bitcoin investor. If you’re disciplined, you’re disciplined and if you're not, you're not……It’s as simple as that.

I think we have gone past the case of timing or monitoring the market because it is actually pointless and not necessarily for someone who is into Bitcoin for long term and using the DCA method of accumulating Bitcoin. Because with the method they can be able to purchase Bitcoin at any phase of the market. People who should be talking about timing or monitoring the market are traders because without that they can't make out something from the marek and sad enough monitoring or timing doesn't even guarantee profit.

In case the Bitcoin price falls, there will be an opportunity to purchase but timing it all the time can be hard for most. For this buying in fixed quantities and remaining patient over the long haul can be a useful technique. However, even if someone do DCA in the short term, profits are not guaranteed, I would say someone should not invest beyond their means.
